Ultimate Salt - Nerfs you are looking FORWARD to in UMvC3

We don’t speak the forbidden word.

It’s actually better to just kind of wonder who Capcom will put in. Phoenix Wright was a big WTF, and it’d be cool to see more of that.

Sent was never deconfirmed. It was just a bunch of idiots who were twisting words in a way that they wanted to hear it (They didn’t want Sentinel in so they made a statement fit to their liking).

Ah, okay.

So… Viper’s probably getting a new game? The buffs… it all makes sense now. Damn you and your marketing, Capcom! Never been a big fan of Viper, but hey, if the game’s fun, I’ll play it. Or just play it at a friend’s house or something.

Still unaware if she actually got buffed. Viper players that got to try her hands on at EVO said they didn’t feel much of a difference. It is unaware at this point if her optic blast is that beneficial at all. Sure it can’t hurt her, but the move could still be pretty moot compared to her bag of tools which make her as good as she is. Time will tell, but atm she hasn’t changed much.

Shuma the main villain of a recent Invaders mini series.

No he’s not. The Venom your thinking of is no longer relevant

Than explain why Marvel had control over the characters that go in MVC3 endings? Seriously, it’s not like the new characters don’t make sense.

-Doctor Strange, His mythos keep his character alives. He is getting a movie and he will return as Doctor Strange by the time Fear Itself comic event is over

  • Nova/Rocket Roccoon. Marvel is heavily pushing the cosmo mythos with their cartoon and moves apperances.
  • Iron Fist is getting a movie, and a push.
    -Hawkeye, advertisng the Avengers
  • Ghost Rider, is getting another Movie.

God forbid Marvel wanting to push their under appreciated characters. They don’t want to end up like DC where they can’t use anybody but Batman/Superman because anything else would suck. Just like what unfortunately happen to Green Lantern…

This is going to sound like an asshole and douch-like, and I’m sure your not bad mouthing DC, but…you don’t know shit about DC’s characters or it’s universe.

I apologize other wise. I’m not sure what your implying there (even though I do)

Im glad Marvel didn’t go with the obvious choices. Shit would be boring if we had no surprises. Im now learning about characters I didn’t know existed before the game dropped.

See, that SHOULD be the idea. Give the fans some favorites…and gives us something out of left field we didn’t see coming. A character doesn’t get some appeal without…well…appealing more. Rocket, IF, and Nova are respectable to the those few comic nuts out there…but for the rest, we get something we get to explore on our own. And that’s pretty damn rewarding.

And it doesn’t hurt if the character turns out really good. There place in fighting games is cemented in history if they turn out that good.

I think he means from media outside of comics. Most DC characters that ain’t Superman and Batman get no love as those projects end up in failure. Look at how “successful” Steel, Catwoman, Jonah Hex and Green Lantern movies were. It happens in animation as well. The Legion of Superheroes cartoon got canned after season 2 with a cliffhanger.

I knew as much. Thank you though. It’s just any form of bad example work or comparison of Marvel and DC stuff…I get alittle touchy. IGN Network had there Marvel vs. DC thing a few weeks ago, and that thing is just…wow. Bad negative biased opinions on two comic franchises.

I don’t mind if someone like Marvel over DC, or DC over Marvel…just as long as people have some decent insightful knowledge and output on the subject.

Way too long being the last ~3 months of a game that’s been out a grand total of 6 months? Really?!? That’s “too long”. Good lord, we’re all doomed.

Yeah, fuck, half the characters that are looking GDLK in Ultimate are just the ones that took a while to figure out, and thus avoided the nerf bat. This is why you shouldn’t try to fix a game this early, you don’t really know what needs fixing.

(shakes fist at alerts system)

Wow, some people still don’t believe that Marvel ultimately calls the shots about how gets in on that side? I can understand not trusting Capcom about a lot of things about all of the stuff they’ve pulled (even though they’re hardly the only game company to do that), but considering this is called Marvel vs. Capcom, you’d think people would realize this is a joint effort.

You really think that if Capcom had carte blanche over who made it in on the Marvel side that we would have gotten as many new Marvel characters as we got?

Hunh. I thought I had responded to this already, but apparently I’m forgetting more things than I already tend to.

Anyway, I also respect this. It does kind of annoy me that that they’re aren’t many “cheery” characters even though it’s a fighting game and when there are, usually some ditzy-sounding woman. I guess Dante and Deadpool kinda count as rare male versions, but Dante comes off as a hedonistic asshole and Deadpool is obviously insane, so…

Ha. I saw that picture in the Lounge when Valaris posted i days ago, but it’s still funny. I still wonder where it came from and who made it, though.

Also, I rather agree, especially since like DevilJin pointed out, they don’t seem to have actually nerfed XF with all the other changes.

I kinda agree this despite initial post, but I’d rather be she limited to like two air actions and the homing fireball get nerfed rather than her not being “nerfed” at all. The health thing is dumb, but the fact that they’re seemingly not focusing on “fixing” Dark Phoenix is even dumber. How difficult is it to see that M Trap should wall bounce or that her lights in should create “feathers” that can be spammed?

Cutting out the feathers of L would also mean that we don’t have to hear going “Huh! Huh! Huh! Huh!” constantly like she’s practicing for scissoring with Morrigan or something.

…Because you have something in your eye?

I’ll laugh if they make a C. Viper spin-off…except it’s an answer to Metal Gear Solid given her infiltration of S.I.N. and how crazy the Street Fighter world seems (even without using the connections of any other Capcom games).

Seth: "So, I heard you like boxes, Miss…?"
Maya: thinks quickly “Viper. Sol…C. Viper.”

Err viper has hella trouble from full screen, that was her biggest problem in fact. She couldnt control the assist game from this range (particularly against beamers), and would thus be eventually cornered and rushed down. A high priority beam is just what she needs, viper should always be a full screen threat (not just at the cost of 2 meters on a pure guess), just like in sf4 she should make ppl scared at that range by design

What do dante wesker vergil and akuma have in common that makes “obnoxious 13 year olds” flock to them?

To me, they’re all just badass.

Chun got buffs? :open_mouth:

I must have missed this…lol

Mind explaining what they are? She’s my main in Marvel 3 aswell. I really think she deserves some nice buffs because as she is now she’s kinda low mid to low tier IMO.

EX Spinning Bird Kick is in the reveal trailer for Strange and Nemesis.

I know I’m already working on learning a few of the characters that are so far looking as if they’ve slipped the net(~7 characters IMO). Also in your second sentence you can drop the “really” as what they’re doing is more of changing the game rather than fixing it because as noted it hasn’t been out long enough to truly know what needed fixing.

Leather coats, bad hair and bad attitudes. As far as moves Wesker and Akuma have some pretty cheap herp a derp shit. Dante just has Herderpy hit boxes.
