Ultimate Salt - Nerfs you are looking FORWARD to in UMvC3

Exactly, it’s not like I don’t read comics about them…it’s just that I don’t like how unappreciated characters have some of the worse movies in superhero history. The point is that Marvel pushing their lesser known characters isn’t without logic.

(I like how you have to explain that to people.)

Chun-li hasn’t really gotten anything that I’d see as an actual buff. This isn’t SF4. She didn’t exactly need a GTFO move, especially if she has charge it by crouching down in a game where people who look elderly can jump over you and kick you in the back of the head from across the screen at lightning speed.

I’m hardly a DC “fanboy”–much the opposite, actually–but I kinda missed this earlier so I feel I have to comment; lucky you.

In DC’s defense, Steel and Catwoman at the very least were horrible movies that would have failed even if the movies were about Superman AND Batman; Green Lantern looked much the same, though that might be my anti-CGI basis. I can’t say that I know anything about Jonah Hex (as in the movie), but Megan Fox’s presence doesn’t exactly instill me with hope that it’s anything but decent at best.

Similarly, The Legions of Superheroes’s failure could be blamed on the fact that America still generally doesn’t respect animation or at least think it’s still only for children. I was never able to catch that show, so I don’t know if timing issues were a problem like they seem to be with Young Justice, which quite a few people are fan of…yet it’s literally had less than a dozen episodes in several months; hell, I don’t think Young Justice has even made it through all of its first season still. [/almost completely off-topic]

Someone must have not seen the Justice League or Justice League Unlimited series that ran for…5 seasons as I recall.

And the last 3 seasions (Unlimited) routinely featured episodes with B and C listers.

guessing != anticipation

ex tk (xx ex seismo or xf if necessary) is the answer here, not the problem - i’d much rather be running Viper with the option of doing this than running someone else and just being zoned out, especially since building meter with her is as easy as it is.

Viper has no trouble from full screen. The only spot she has trouble with is super jump height. However, very few characters can really take advantage of that spot (Phoenix, Trish, Zero, Morrigan, Akuma), to varying levels of success. Plus, Viper players most often use Jam Session which clears that right up.

Also, I propose a buff for Thor. If he finishes the mighty speech, he wins the match.

That’s it? lol

I was hoping for some more overall chances to her moves. A slight damage increase would have been nice too. An otg move etc etc.

That said I’m hoping we can use that new move as an assist aswell. I still dont see how this new move is gonna help her get in and such which was her main problem. Chun is a char that needs a good asist to back her up. She’s free against chars like Magneto and such without a good asist.

Sorry, should have clarified… It’s one change, probably of many, that you can actually see.

The first part is accurate, the second part I’d alter to say if he wins by time out while doing mighty speech you should get a special victory screen just like you get perfects and judgements in 3S.

Apparently, Tasky’s damage got a big nerf. From the main UMvC3 thread:

“I’m confident doesn’t scale combos” Makes no sense, as the scaler to combos is the damn hitcount. They probably dropped him to 10% minimum damage on normals instead of 20%.

I’m guessing there’s no more double Legion Arrows (Not that I could ever get it off online anyways)? And his BnB was a simple LMHS j – Spidey Swing – OTG to assist – Legion Arrows? If so… Daaaayummmm… That’s harsh.

Note: I don’t feel like filling in the gaps so I just put in --'s there.

Uhhhh, yeah, no. I was just trying to point out that the combo wasn’t started with a throw or assist, both of which have a habit of raping damage scaling. Makes plenty sense.

If you can somehow keep your opponent stuck for long enough, or your opponent is stupid enough, you deserve to win for finishing the mighty speech.

Deadpool/Trish/Thor
God Tier with handcuff glitch into taunt until timeout.

Assists cause no scaling beyond the hit count either. Throws are the only things that have special scaling modifiers. That’s why it made no sense to preface that at all.

Viper cant build meter at full screen cause her seismos dont go full screen they go about 3/4 screen, she needed something to keep ppl honest at this range and she got just that. I know you think viper has no weaknesses and is s tier or whatever viper brigade, but in reality she wasnt a real threat full screen (one random guess at the cost of 2 meters in ex tk ex seismo doesnt make up for the fact). In sf4 she was a huge threat at full screen since she zoned you from basically full screen forcing the opponent to come to her, so its a good buff in terms of the archetype of viper. The beam looks super high durability too since it went THROUGH a phoenix fireball and hit her and that thing has huge projectile durability

If the enemy is at fullscreen and she H seismos, couldn’t she cancel it into a jump and airdash down-forward? Then she isn’t at full-screen. Problem solved.

Now THAT doesn’t make sense. Why would something like MODOK’s bomb assist, which only does 1 hit, weaken combos so much then?

Exactly, or she could just step forward before Seismo-ing, fullscreen is a total non-issue.

The game is too fast for that to be a real solution, ppl beaming and throwing shit full screen whilst you are air dashing into position to then maybe hit them (if you havent been hit yet that is) is not gonna instantly solve her problems. Plus her seismo doesnt have nearly the range it did comparatively in sf4 where she could take a literal half step forward and nail you with a seismo. Much of the zoning game in mvc3 is at full screen just because the game is so fast so she def needed somethign in that regard.
