Also I think Ammy is way underrated. Her sword stance is fucking retarded, everything is plus on block, and her spinny sword is 100x worse than Zero’s J.H. Fuck this character really, ducking under Haggar is not cool.

Hulk, Skrull, and Cap are vastly underrated. Funny thing is, Cap is getting huge buffs. Shield slash OTGing, and how some of the new assists work means I can remove Doom/Wesker from my Cap team. Which is awesome cause Wesker is incredibly boring, and stupid easy to win with.

good to know… i remember telling the ammy boards about a month into the game that sword was better and only like 2 other people believed me.

Without it all he has is a projectile that causes 4000 frames of hitstun which lead into good damage, amazing crouching normal, an amazing launcher that basically negates the need to ever hit confirm with the bastard, 1.1 million health, a built in high/low/left/right mixup button, braindead combos that never get dropped because you have to try and drop them they are so herp derpity, a move that allows him to self OTG in a 57 second window…

Aw come on Nissan, Wesker is a really weak character who already suffers from lacking in zoning, rushdown, and keepaway. He really needed that command grab to up his GAME.

I’ll agree that the start up is slow but the range on the L grab is plenty better than say Wesker’s command grab and the same as Felicia’s L grab. M grab has hella slow start up but the range is probably the longest of any grab in the game. It’s like Gief ST throw range. You can literally be 2 characters away and it’ll still grab.

am i the only person that LIKES the slow speed of certain command grabs? you can cancel into them and they will still hit OR instead of canceling into them you can chain into a low… easy 50/50…

seriously, back up to full screen and do dpm+m dpm+m. what do you get? beehive.

when i’m trying to do block pressure with dante, i do abc stinger bc beehive (no volcano even comes out) and call deadpool quick work at the same time for the unblockable at the end. trust me, volcano doesn’t even need to come out.

the reason beehive is a a harder style cancel than the others is because 1. double dragon punch motions suck dicks. 2. you can potentially get raw beehive instead of volcanoxxbeehive 3. people are bad.

as far as dante being ‘broken’. Nah, he’s not too good. He’s just good. any nerfs, i’ll take in stride, and hey. easier acid rain loops are always a plus. but honestly if he gets E. Honda’d or something I’ll quit the game. Dante’s the only character I find remotely interesting/fun. Everyone else is just a ABCS BBCS machine, and I kind of like being able to do 30 different combos off of 30 different hits.

And Wesker can Kara-Command grab to get a solid range boost… lol wesker.

But Hulk actually has a decent option to stop button presses with his 5C and an anti air command grab. Its not a great mixup by any stretch, but Hulk can guess right, where-as there are alot of other things in this game that simple don’t work once you know how to get out (looks at thor).

He’s only the potential best character in the game…

Yeah slower grabs allow you to frame trap off chains more easily since you can wait for the recovery of a normal and buffer it in early so it’s basically a frame trap. Thor sets up his command grabs the same way on the ground. Trapping people off the recovery of his normals.

Well that’s on top of the fact that Wesker has a normal cancellable dash and one of the best dashes in the game. He can just seep in after you and bust out regular L or kara L grab to give the effect that his command grab takes up half the screen.

While I may not entirely agree with the sentiment, this was well played sir. I actually lol’d at the internet for the first time today.

I don’t mean to overrule people, your knowledge of Hulk is likely vastly superior to mine, I just know some very basic aspects of his play that are interesting. I honestly feel every single character in this game has something really fun and unique they could do it’s just that a lot of it gets overshadowed by the absolutely busted things the top tiers can do.

I still think Hulk is slept on. s.H buff will make him easier to play for people who already like to mash on that shit and will allow him to fight characters like Zero and X23 without raw tagging into someone else or having Haggar assist.

He has a lot of strong tools that keep him at frame advantage once he gets in especially with assists. Sentinel has a better overall assist with drones but Hulk’s assists are pretty solid and when he’s played on point with strong assists I feel he’s really solid and has more to offer in mix up than Sentinel plus more health (enough for it to actually matter). I believe both Hulk’s and Tron’s point play is really slept on when put together with the right assists.

Just chipping in to say I am currently playing a mostly keep-away Hulk. I have Hulk (AA)/Akuma (Tatsu)/Sentinel (drones)

Mostly spam H gamma wave and use drones to keep it tight, does insane chip. Always have LV1 on standby so I can Gamma Crush to escape, which also has the advantage of not blocking if my assist gets caught in a beam (assist takes less damage, Hulk flies in and saves the day with a meteor).

Tatsu assist has some nice combos (I think) with L, M+tatsu xx 623H~H, H, S, j.M, j.M, j.H, j.S > OTG DHC into Akuma, etc.

Then there is the opportunity to use drones to cover a Gamma Charge “dash” in to command grab.

Dante can’t teleport without risking H damage, Wolverine can’t dive kick without getting chipped to fuck by drones+gamma wave, if I have my back to the wall and he super jumps, I Gamma Charge underneath, call drones, stay safe even if he’s close.

Disruptaah! and Deadpool’s guns do pwn this by default, but once they are knocked down, the drones+gamma wave combo is in my favour again.

I’m no pro, but I have been generating high levels of sodium since I switched to this team. Originally I had Dormammu in Akuma’s place, but I prefer Akuma overall and having access to DHC into SGS and beam-breaking Shoryu is tasty. I think Doom (missiles) would be a good swap for Sentinel, but I hate playing Doom and I don’t like having a character as just an assist sheds tears for Hsien-Ko

OT: I’m glad XF is getting toned down more than anything, but then I hear about this “lower health” shit and it makes me think WTF?

Doom is very solid on point even as anchor but the work required to make him nearly as scary as Sentinel in the back requires a good amount of execution that you don’t have to worry about with Sent. Sent is pretty much an assist character at this point also now that his health has been docked down like 400k points in a game where DHC glitch and XF1 already rapes the shit out of people’s health. Dr.Doom can stay in on advance guards without assists with his normal to dash cancel techniques but Sentinel in the back can easily just get advanced guarded all day till hit XF burns out. Once the Sent player gets antsy and whiffs something, dead Sent.

Your team is a solid way to build a team around Hulk and both assists help him relaunch for more damaging combos also. It keeps him from having to fight advance guards by himself also. Plus Hulk’s super high durability gamma wave and gamma tsunami kill off other assists rather easily. All it takes is one bad assist call against a loaded Hulk team and you lose assists.
