I am so happy I learned him after watching The First Avenger.
I’m just happy I can punish Tron assist now. Even stuff it
Edit: Air X factor should be annoying for a Dorm player. Snap in the problem and force an X factor could be the norm… well at the cost of your X factor as well. Not sure why I see it happening this way.
(Lol at Spider-man getting nerfed apparently. Why…)
Dormammu is fine. Hell, he’s more than fine even with Air X-Factor preventing Stalker Flare stupidity and Flame Carpet no longer being hideously unfair even if he’s hit. Even just Purification becoming Air-OK would have been a huge buff, but given that they made his Level 3 even easier to combo into/harder to miss (when the timing already seems rather easy to me) and that they’re making all his other specials Air-OK, depending on how they have Liberation and co. act in the air, he’s probably a lot stronger than he was before.
He also got a speed boost, which is…kinda of insane, especially since I haven’t heard anything about his health dropping like so many other characters.
For the record, I’m blaming you if this happens, even if seems nigh-inevitable unfortunately.
Oh well, maybe when Ultimate MvC3 AE comes out, we’ll finally get a version of Megaman…in the background since Capcom decided to go Karin Kanizuki instead.
I somehow doubt Karin would do well in a Marvel game even if she did make it in. Would much rather they slap her to SF4 instead where she would both fit in and have the potential to be a giant FU to the twins.
Any team running Sentinel, Dante, Skrull, Chun, Ammy, Doom, or Wesker (and I’m positive I’m missing a couple here because there were 7 before Doom was discovered) won’t have to worry about the buster nerf though…until that assist dies anyway; and that is pretty much every Zero team worth mentioning, plus some of the new characters could have suitable assists as well. No to nerfs though, keep Zero S tier it’s where he rightfully belongs ^^ (even though I would play him even if he was Roll tier…)
you do know that priority does not exist. It just has more active frames. Rather than screw him royaly by extending his hurtbox, what if those active frames on those “anoyying moves” where reduced? I would feel better about such non-sense.
I just hope Zero stays as godlike as he is now, and becomes even more godlike.
Yes, I’m aware there isn’t anything as priority “really”, but you obviously knew what I mean. I’d be fine with less active frames. It’d be nice to able to intentionally hit Zero with anything that wasn’t a projectile or covered in armor or invincibility, especially since it’s not like he can’t play run away for a bit if he wants to given how sluggish Hadangeki can be, how quick his buster is, usually being backed by Sentinel drones and having Sogenmu.
Text doesn’t always convey that well, especially for me and this late at night.
Zero, I have mixed feelings on that character. Then again that is simply because I have a hard time dealing with him, but I hear this not a unique thing and a lot of the cast has problems dealing with him. The thing is I have no idea what they could change on him without ruining him so it might be best to leave him alone.
@ The Damned, you really have a problem with any projectile/mine that dares not dissappear when the person who placed it is hit, don’t you?
That was what made the Carpet a Viable tool. He could get him, but escape the combo because they’d land on the carpet, and this would set him up for a combo in retaliation. It pushing people back and disappearing on hit pretty much makes the move totally useless since Dorm has the little finger shot to knock people away.
No. Do not do it. Please don’t put Karin in SF4.
On topic, She-Hulk slide nerf makes me happy. I don’t care how fast they make her, but that slide was just redonkulous.
Hmm…going out of my way to look for character information has been…interesting. They’re buffing Viper, though? Haha…
Oh, Capcom.
I use Chris and Dormammu, so yes and no.
If “Flame Carpet” was a special move that took a rather significant amount of time to start-up or put out or if he couldn’t combo off of it so easily, then I’d probably being fine with sticking around when you smack him in the face. As it stands now, the fact that’s currently better than slower recovering “get the hell off me” special moves like Chris’s land mine or Trish’s Hopscotch (though it’s not like that affects Trish much, even if she’s on the ground) just seems…as wrong as Wesker being a better zoner than half of the people currently meant to do it.
I know that offense in MvC3 can be pretty braindead and it’s pretty much matter of not dying like DevilJin01 pointed out, but being able to mount an almost as braindead defense that covers your ass even when you egregiously fuck up (because, really, there’s pretty no one that can cleanly combo him when he’s out an standing near unless they teleported behind him) seems just as stupid. I’m fine with agreeing to disagree.
It’s not totally useless since it still OTGs and it should still work the same in the corner. Besides, “Finger Shot” (or whatever) can be ducked by some characters IIRC, it wallbounces whereas Flame Carpet (still) doesn’t and it doesn’t stay stationary whereas as Flame Carpet (still) does. It will still hit people if you block correctly; just not if you put it down and then taunt like you’re standing in the middle of M.O.D.O.K.'s Barrier because they can’t attack you without getting shutdown even though they hit you and maybe suffering a worse trade given how much damage Dormammu does if he has meter.
I don’t see how this is a bad thing. The bouncing people away might be a bit much, but that’s Capcom for you.
I remember actually using taunting+carpet as a viable trolling strategy when I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt the person was really mad. It’s like they can’t see the carpet through their sodium vision.
(Damn it. I need to proofread more. Being constantly tired isn’t an excuse.)
Yeah, it’s awesome, isn’t it? It probably works because they’re already seeing red and the flames just blend in.
But, yeah, as sad it is do lose two viable methods of trolling (that and taunting while you chip them to death with X-Factored double Stalker Flare), as long as it makes him more fair and actually have to use his other, more than decent zoning tools, I don’t think it’s going to ultimately hurt him. It’s pretty stupid that so many characters in this game have command normals that utterly trump at least half of their specials–I’m looking at you, Wesker.
I’m all about being nitpicky. I saw you call it that earlier and typed it in initially, but I figured I should call it the same thing it’s called on the page that I’m linked to, wrong name or not. Besides, I don’t have the guide, which is where I’m guessing you’re getting the actual name from since I don’t think the command list in-game has command normals for…some reason–I guess you could have popped into training mode, though, but, eh, we’re lazy.
What’s wrong with Karin? I’m not a pro SF player but I loved Karin in Alpha 3. Counters, auto combos:lovin: puts in Alpha 3 disc
As for Dorm and other people’s moves disappearing when hit, I never had a problem with his Flame Carpet just because all you had to do was knock him in the air. ANY air combo should last long enough for it to go away. I just don’t understand how Dorm’s Stalker Flare is basically the hyper version of Phoenix’s homing TK Orb but her’s doesn’t disappear when she gets hit. >:(I’m waiting for the day when there’s a tournament and during one of the last matches Dorm tosses a Stalker Flare while Phoenix does a TK Orb and Dorm teleports, gets a hit…and then gets hit by Phoenix’s orb into a combo and loses the match.:lame:
I do wish they’d bring back MvC2’s assist system though: if you get hit, your assist gets the hell out of there before doing their move.
I really think Doom will be a new GOD in UMVC3. His counters are getting nerfed, and he now has better projectiles to go along with his insane 100% combos. X factor in the air will really help him too. Thank god Wekser and Wolverine are being nerfed. I really hope that Dante loses some of the INSANE range on his normals. He can literally juggle me with inches between me and him. Is there anything on a Dante range nerf or is he still going to combo me from half a screen away?
