Yeah for that :s: they have to be pretty low or else you’ll pop them hella high in the air.
so guys what’s THE best optimized mag blast bnb? i’m asking because I plan on running mag tron vergil and i need something that builds good meter for tron setups
average mag blast bnb builds 1.3 solo and 1.9 using the default sent ender.
advance mag blast bnbs can reach 1.5 solo and 2 - 2.2 using the default sent ender.
these numbers can change if you adjust the combo when near the corner.
I have been trying to pick up Magneto for a while now, but I can’t get any damage out of him. This is because I am having a hard time ending his combos with hyper-grav -> magnetic tempest. For example, if I do “The Japan” combo from the first few posts, I can combo the opponent from corner to corner. However, when I try to end the combo with flying H -> unfly -> falling air H -> standing H -> hyper grav L -> magentic tempest, the opponent always falls out as I am trying to hit them with the falling air H. I also tried flying H -> addf -> air H … but they fall out here also. Does anyone have any tips, or know something I don’t?
unflying is too slow
you have to do the addf or add HS (S unflys but doesnt come out)

So apparently moves done at normal jump height actually have LESS hitstun than moves at SJ height. I’m gonna see how I can squeeze out a few more hits for meter in my Magneto combos, but for now, I think I’ll try to avoid stuff like j.M j.H Magblast or j.H adf Magblast.
afaik the difference isn’t height, its if you have done a normal jump or super jump. anything done in a super jump has more hitstun. normal jumps have less.
combo I’ve been liking a lot lately is confirm into S, sj.H adf sj.H xx L magblast / jump uf, H xx L magblast / S sj.H adf sj.H xx L magblast / superjump uf H addf H s.H (xx hypergrav or launch into air series)
magblast combo into a rep of ROM. works midscreen but there are still some variables in the height & spacing I haven’t figured out because just jump H xx L magblast after the sj.H adf sj.H xx L blast seems inconsistent
Ah, thanks for the correction. Yeah, I’ve been iffy about the normal jump j.H into Magblast stuff pretty much because it’s kind of inconsistent for me and doesn’t look as cool. Been doing IAD Magblasts into S during my Hyper Grav loops lately instead. I was working on optimizing a combo a while ago but it wouldn’t work for some reason. This might be the trick to getting it down.
I’m not a big fan of normal jump jH xx Blast after jH adf jH xx Blast either, it’s extremely iffy to setup and not worth doing. I use IAD L Blast in my Magnetic blast BnBs too and it’s a x100 more consistent except it requires warmup before doing that combo especially vs heavy weight characters that drop quickly.
that one I can’t get at all, so I have been sticking with coast to coast combos for midscreen stuff (tokido combo with an extra H or two) and saving all the fancy stuff for the corner. I’m playing a Frank team now anyway so most of my stuff is scheming up new ways to add more hits to get more levels for Frank.
Yeah that one’s kinda tricky to get at first since you have to input the dashxxMag Blast pretty fast and under pressure I hit dash up accidently alot. I like Ika’s max damage blast loop alot too but I can’t ever get the second blast to come out lol
max damage blast loop? I’ve seen Alioune’s but I don’t think that is a blast loop, its just two kara magblasts into 3 reps of hypergrav

I don’t use j.H xx Blast, but rayray does and it works fine for him.
I do j.H xx dash Blast.
I don’t like the jH blast one because certain times you have to adjust your timing and spacing or you’re going to whiff the jH. I like the sj addf H followup better.
I have a question about ROM - where do you aim to get them at that “perfect” height on the first j. Hs? If they’re at the correct height, I’m able to ROM midscreen or in the corner, but I seem to be having trouble getting them to the correct height.

Air dashing and super jumping are most important parts of the ROM. If you delay either one, the character will fall lower to the ground or recover in the air if you mess up near the end. You can use j.M to pick them up if they start to fall out.
To get the second j.H Mag Blast consistently, do the the first j.H Mag Blast as soon as possible, and make sure you jump up forward during the second one. There is no strict timing. you just input jump, press H, then ADF Mag Blast.
there is also time to dash before jumping again.
