That’s just cross style and it’s not a predominant KoF thing. It’s used by whoever likes that style, why in the world would it be a KoF thing?

some guy in our scene simply puts the finger tips of his index and middle finger on top of the ball and that’s it. His nickname is Taskmaster but we call him twixmaster cause he’s darkskinned and his two fingers like that resemble two twix bars.
anyways, I’m on a strict no homo basis with my stick.

Thanks for the very informative video Canto. It never really occurred to me that there might be actual different styles when holding a balltop joystick.

btw those are 2 different grips. daigo has the shaft between his ring and pinky (called the no homo? lol) and shinz has all 4 of his fingers to the left of the shaft.
I play like this also. Surprised the video didn’t mention it, seems like one of the more natural ways of holding it imo.
So who wants to see a number 2? With a couple more holds?? 
Handicap grip, using the base of your wrist where it joins your hand.
supporting your elbow on the stick or Cab and use it as leverage.

Yeah, I think I use Sas “Three Fingered Rodeo” too… It strikes me as the most natural thing to try first when you get a stick. Also, it’s a kinda mean grip since you kinda slap the stick to dash.
Maybe I should experiment with the other grips a bit, looks like fun. But I’m pretty comfortable where I am.

Korean sticks traditionally aren’t balltop, but they’re what I learned to play on. Now with my jap stick I use a very similar way of holding. Keeping my pinky on the board helps me make sure I don’t hamhock the stick as well.
I was trying to find something like this for a long time. I only have a few days of stick/fighting game experience, and I kept getting pwned online because I can’t get ultra out. Still don’t know which grip to use though… probably the wine glass or homo :shy:

wineglass on a bat top here, since '92
