Ultimate Dante Combo Thread. Jackpot! Yeah baby!

Cjaycr tysm. You’ve been fucking awesome today and I really appreciate it. Now I need to find myself a combo that breaks 800k starting from hammer. I got 797 :’( but when I DHC I think its 996k or maybe over a mil I forgot.

Does it deal more damage than the other extensions mentioned my you or myself?

From hammer? Is there a meter assist limitation or what because I have one with dante/vergil/deadpool but the deadpool part can be substituted depending on the other character. It uses 2 bar and builds just under two bars.

At 1:59 PR Balrog does this combo with Dante and he gets a ground bounce after the Stinger > Bold Cancel > Sky Dance, I’ve replicated this combo and I can’t seem to get a ground bounce after the Sky Dance any reason why?

Ok so what you want to do is after the stinger, bold move, do the sky dance as low under the opponent as possible then you should land on the opposite side but it won’t be a ground bounce its a hard knockdown.

you need the last hit of skydance to whiff in order to get that ground bounce + hard knock down, it is being discussed quite heavily in this thread and the dante technical/help by momo (shout outs to his effort!)

If I had to guess, I’d say PR Rog didn’t intend that to happen, he instead improvised a way to fix the weird angle at which the Sky Danced connected.
I’ve been and seen that situation hundreds of times where the Dante player wants to keep the opponent in the corner with the Sky Dance and go for a normal bounce reset, yet the Sky Dance gets that really weird angle.

Not that it can’t be done voluntarily, but I think there’s more consistent setups for the whiff.
The rule is this, if the opponent gets caught above Dante’s head (or slightly moved to the side), the Sky Dance will whiff.
In my experience, the higher in the air the opponent is the better the chances are of a whiff.

In fact, a good way to practice it is by doing the wall bounce setup after the beehive (Beehive, Dashback, :s: , 2 shots, Stinger, Bold Cancel, Sky Dance)
This setup puts him a lot higher in the air than the one in the video, and it should help you get familiarized with the angle at which the Sky Dance needs to hit because you get a lot more time to see it.
Once you do that, you can go back and apply it to this situation.

And now that I look at your team which I assume is dante/vergil/wesker then that would be pretty easy to combo after an air throw with.
air grab, mash air :h::h::h::h::h:,call weskers gun shot, cancel from the shots into the hammer and go from there.

I’m not sure if it does as I haven’t tested it. I’m not sure if it actually works either. That’s just what I think is possible off the top of my head. HSD could be a factor though.

I’ve seen him do this multiple times and very consistently too, I’m sure there is a trick to it, maybe even character specific. I doubt he just improvised.

Oh my bad, I don’t follow PR Rog that much. Yipes is the most fun to watch.
Anyway, I forgot something, it also seems easier to do when the opponent has a high HSD (not enough to prevent you from connecting the wallbounce though)

It’s not “improvising” there are 2 possible outcomes after Sky Dance, after a hard knockdown that acid rain follow-up’s pretty common, he simply adjusted the combo when he realised they weren’t gonna bounce (which you can tell from the beginning of sky dance whether you’re in front or behind them).

Either you get ready to acid rain soon as you hit the ground or beehive.

So pretty much my combo off of jump :s: does 797k (I think) and 998k after DHC into spencer. Should it still work off of an air throw?

You have to do it right below them. The thing is he does it after shower into stinger in the corner and always follows it up with acid rain. He does it very consistently. You need to skydance below your opponent to get a followup. If you do it below them you get a ground bounce reset, if you do it lower they end up on the other side with a hard knockdown that he always follows up with acid rain>volcano>jc :s:> call spencer assist>volcano>jc:s:>volcano,beehive>million dollars. My trick is that right after stinger once I see I’m at around 2/3 of the bold move jump or right as I see I can do another move I just do :qcf::h: as fast as possible.

Anyway I forgot to point out that I though it was unintended because you have to perform the Sky Dance motion towards the corner and Dante would still turn around due to autocorrection. That’s why I always think they want to keep the opponent in the corner.

You know those rare times when you do Stinger > bold cancel crystal instead of volcano? Do any of you have good ideas on optimization if you notice early enough and cancel into Devil Trigger? I sort of just go through the dial-a-Dante-combo options, but I feel like perhaps I could utilize the Devil Trigger moves better somehow. We don’t see many combos involving DT since it usually involves combos being extremely meter negative.

is there any way someone could notate Dante’s ideal solo non xfac BnB, starting with a practical hit confirm, along with how much damage it does. I can do around 600k with a random easy mode BnB, but I feel like im losing out on either a decent chunk of damage, or on a lot of meter gain…any help would be awesome. Thank you <3

Just picked up dante today, and hes a lot of fun. Dude seems to be a very balanced character that can rush and zone relatively well. I wanted to play him in vanilla, but everyone played dante, so I held out. Now that a lot of people have left him, Ive decided to use him…and because, well, fuck Vergil.

Check the front page. All really viable combos and the last 2 are pretty damaging and not hard at all.

So what is one way to get multiple million carats with dante solo? I’m trying that tq 950k combo for 1 bar but I don’t have vergil or sent assist so thats unfortunate.

Just posted this in the video thread, but this is the combo I use for dem happy birthdays. It doesn’t drop the assist from my experience and kills high health assists like Doom pretty easily.

You can put them back into the corner to DHC and kill the point if you teleport after prop shredder or if you iad over after wallbounce hammer.
