I’d go to like every tournament if it was around champaign-urbana

Would totally be willing to part with $10-$20 once a month in exchange for some experience. If this happens I’ll be there as long as it does not conflict with my work schedule.

Im going to try and find out if it would be possible to potentially run a house tournament at my house in Normal.

Question is whether all of you in champaign would have rides over.

So glad everyone is willing to come out. I really want these again.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I’ll start looking into a place to hold tournaments.

Thing is, I’m going to need all of your help. I will have to guarantee at least 20 people will show up for any business to even consider having us. Also, it will likely be in restaurant, bar, or local gaming store. Thus, buying shit from them will be a plus. Also, there might end up being a venue fee. I’m not sure how this is going to go down, but regardless, I need you guys to tell everyone you know once I do secure a location. I dont have the money to put up for a venue right now, so where ever we end up doing it will be likely either doing it out of the kindness of their heart, or expecting all the people coming to buy food/drinks/stuff from that business.

Also, Patric, what’s up with the club? Could we get space for free somewhere at U of I?

So… how do you guys feel, now that gem system in SF x TEKKEN is one of the core gameplay.

Well as for me, i won’t be buying the game. Heck, they’ll come out with another version few months later anyway. Why bother right?

Dennis, I PM’d you the link for the RSO.

Also, Brock is a liar saying gems will for sure be banned.

I dunno… Personally I think fighting games of this generation are kinda going downhill. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad that we’re still getting them with such regularity, but I hate that every single game has to have some sort of stupid “comeback” or “Holy Shit!” mechanic (Ultras, X-Factor, Pandora, MSH gems, etc.). Whatever happened to specials and supers? lol Again, not mad…just sayin’. If it ain’t Baroque, don’t fix it. That’s right – I went there. :wgrin:

Skullgirls.

That is all.

you cant turn gems off? ugggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg

Pandora looks useless right now.

Mike have you seen how much damage the double super in SFxT does? Its like vanilla sagat damage.

Hehe, nah not yet. Footage?

i dont have a specific video but ones ive seen show the double super (takes all 3 bars) does a SHIT TON

wow gems i guess are critical to the games balancing? I bet thats because the core game is pretty shit right now.

trolololol

This!!! ALLLLLLLL DAY!!!

My green purple yellow gem combo is going to blow all you mfers up.

I’ll come to tournaments IF they involve a game that has some hair on its nuts

comeback factor is what makes the game exciting though. Supers and parry in themselves were comeback factors as well, it’s just that the newer generation games tends to go overboard and takes way less or no skills (mvc3 x factor). I don’t mind SF4 series ultras though… they’re just like supers in the previous sf games. In fact, you need ultras in SF4 series because ex moves are essential to the game play and regular supers are rarely used for any characters.

Yeah, that’s true. I think it was more directed at X-Factor more than anything else. Here’s hoping SFxT isn’t an ass-load of fuck. lol

Ultra’s made vanilla pretty fun because it reminded me of ST style damage.

Ultra’s overtime kepts getting their damage more and more nerfed which arguably made the game less balanced.
