would love it. I dunno if new people would wanna spend 10 $ dollars though. BUT WHAT DO I KNOW?
I’m in there like swimwear, son.
That’s kind of what I mean though. If I was to take the time to find a venue and set it up for monthly, or bi-monthly tournaments, I would want to actually run real tournaments, not bullshit $5 funzies nights.
I would hope that at 18 years of age (or more) that $10 isn’t a lot of money. Doesn’t matter if you’re a broke college student or not. Eat one less meal at McDonalds a month and there is your $10 for tournament.
im down for 10 a month, especially considering even with like only 10 ppl it would still be be pretty good winnings with 1st 70% / 2nd 20% / 3rd 10%. Lol this way if there are more than 10 ppl, even third place will always get more than what you paid to enter and we shudn’t be running a tourney anyways if less than 10 ppl participate…now if i can ever not go 0-2…
Donating $10 a month to charity? Sounds like a good cause to me
Im not so sure about mvc3 though
that would be awesome. i have no problem with being a pot monster.
In like Flynn son. Get at me! L2 budget dat fight money peeps. This only benefits up as a scene. Those who want to get better anyways.
Yup. If you guys are seriously trying to get better then this is about as cheap a tourney experience as you can ask for, real talk. $10 a month, like Brock said, should be literally nothing. Surely you can cut one fast food meal a month out of your spending.
yeah tbh i miss the ranbats too, miss the competitive hype that used to happen~~~ still happens in casuals, but just seems so much better when its in an organized setting
Marcus Free Money Fund™
Aint nothing free. Ill fight him tooth and nail for my 10 bux!
The very moment that I dont meet a challenge because I just feel like Id just be giving a more skilled player free money is the day I need to quit playing fighting games.
Fighting spirit FTW
So, I see some of you are interested. That’s awesome and I’m glad to hear it.
But what about the 445324525 other new guys that came to Musa’s gathering? There was a good amount of faces I never seen before. Whatever venue I find is going to want to at least have a decent amount of people coming in to their business to generate… well business. So if I can’t get around 20+ people on a regular basis, it won’t be worth it.
Right now, there is about 10 people I know would actually show up every month.
20 people would only happen if people from out of area came.
I think that isn’t true. I still stick by the rule of numbers. There are like what, 40,000 people at U of I? Add another 2,000 at least at Parkland.
There has to be more players out there. We’ve literally came across like 40 “new” people over the course of the year… The problem is none of them stick around or show up to tournaments.
Just throwing this out there: I’ve already seen guys like Dan and Ricardo getting better just from the couple get togethers they’ve attended. Just evidence that showing up does pay off for those that are willing to work at it.
When $$ is on the line you really learn quickly where your weaknesses lie – even if it’s only a little $$.
