You’re right, with both points. The problem is that I’m always comparing modern games with the golden run of PC game breakthroughs from 95 to about 99, when companies were pretty much forced to be make innovations. However, as a conscientious objector (aka gaming elitist asshole), I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I don’t know about this counterstrike business, though. I’d say frontline force is better, but their community went to shit, about ten times worse than the assholes you spot in counterstrike. Whereas you can occasionally find the good guy or team player in counterstrike, in FLF it’s every man for himself. It’s sad because it used to be the most team-oriented mod ever, and due to bad dev PR, fuckers in the player base and a huge screw up for a third beta, the game is a shadow of its former self. I’ll write a book one of these days.
I think the important issue here is the fact that so many people have taken everything that was thrown at them for granted. Moreso, than, say, people from said golden era. Furthermore, I postulate that there will be a rennaissance in these corporations that have done so poorly over the years.

I’m not sure, but it sounds like you’re on my side for once. In any case, the important issue is that people simply don’t care anymore. 99% of the people alive are slaves to the media (this percentage is a gross underexaggeration), and thus the popular tastes at the time. Take allen, for example: He wears goth clothing, puts his hair in a mohawk, and plays cvs2 just because he wanted to be cool like archie and chris.
Allen, I think you should sign up for the Lee school of “anime” (closet hentai) artistry. I mean, not everyone’s going to like your artwork just because abel likes any form of pornography featuring vaguely asian women.

i havent tried farcry yet because the only install i downloaded didnt work so i havent played it yet. As of late, I think my playing has been getting worse and worse. I’m in a very crappy sf slump right now. But anyways, with the cvs2 tourney is it gonna be double elim? single match? I’m too lazy to go look right now. I’m just wondering if it’s gonna take forever for the tourney to finish if i go this saturday.
Anyone else notice about cvs2 that it seems like everyone sort of plays a lot more casually? or at least i’ve noticed that i don’t care as much when i win or lose in cvs2 (but shit not coming out on third strike has been pissing me off lately). This leads to more ‘fun’ for me, i think.

well, i guess starcraft is considered one of the best real time strategies, since there are people still playing it now. that game takes a lot of micro management skill, as well as macro. of course i may be biased, since i’m korean, and korea’s all into that shit. u can get a HOT ASS chick in korea if ur awesome at that game, fuckin shit. of course, there are elementary and junior high kids in korea that are craze at that game. KOREA ROCKS! lol j/k. korea’s pretty GAY…
haha, you’re right about korea being pretty wack, i have a starcraft match vid, its like boxer vs joyo or something and its this hardcore comeback at the end and everyone starts crying and all these girls in the audience are screaming, its freakin hillarious. On top of that, all the players always have to wear these space suits because of their sponsors so “AMD” can be plastered all over their bodies. Hella funny stuff.

okay, eugene, abel and i went to rfc on friday night. There was absolutely no cvs2 comptetition. NOT ONLY THAT, the sticks would completely stop working for about 10 seconds or so…then start to work again perfectly fine. It was awesome how when the sticks stops working eugene is right next to me and he gets 3 c.fierces in before we both realize the sticks aren’t working >_<, anyways it didnt’ matter cuz cvs2 was too broke to care about winning.
speaking of broken, the kof2k3 game’s 1p side has a shitty stick. as shitty as the game looks, i want to play it for fun. the kof2k3 AI really sucks. you can’t play 2p side unless you challange a human opponent, else you’re stuck on 1p side(just like svc…:mad: ) you get 15 seconds to choose 3 characters. So you better fucking decide who you wnat to use BEFORE you press start. and i think you get 10 seconds to press start after you put ur money in.:lame:
i ended up finding entertainment at the SSZ machine. it was funny when i pulled off rimururu’s ice super and the screen will shake insanely for a few seconds.
for MVC2 players, the competition there still exist i believe.
for 3s players, competition exist too, but you get comp from captain runaway and his scrubmates.
i wonder how the cvs2 comp is at camelot right now…

the only people i can think of that uses mai is albino, ace, and me. and i’m pretty much the only one that knows how to RC. So straight off the back i’m assuming it’s me, but i dont’ recall doing it point blank seeing how i only RC flame ass as an AA. plus doing flame ass point blank is not very safe either. i dont’ think the flame ass is safe sometimes when done at a distance. anyways i was just wondering who this RC mai user is.
I think the highlight of tonight at RFC was when I couldn’t move left or right with my R2 Sagat and the dude I was playing couldn’t move his R2 Balrog either. So I just stood there trying to do S. Lvl3 Tiger Cannon but fierces just kept coming out and I guess the Balrog dude was trying to do something as well seeing he was wiffing moves endlessly.
And finally the sticks kick back in and he ends up doing the Balrog slide punch while my Lev3 Tiger Cannon finally finds its way out and into his face. And then it was game over.
And I gotta try to get next Saturday off damn it. I think I’ll bribe my supervisor tomorrow with a AHEM BACKUP COPY of Frozen Throne he’s been requesting for so long.

BTW, status of machines unknown, but I have talked to some of the really good players there, and aside from the roundhouse on the 2p side, the controls seem to work fine. Still, I will try to get them fixed…
