aight i felt bad after i did this, but hearing what happened to allans’s friend (i dunno exactly how ur name is spelled, sorry), i don’t feel as bad.
sometime last week during the afternoon GTU played me in cvs2. seemed pretty random to me, but it's coo all i have to do is just execute my "beat GTU" plan. he jumps back, i corner and bait him a couple thousand times, blah blah he's dead. he plays like 3-4 more times, and after i beat ocv him blah blah i start cussin and shit, u know my fucked up temper. (it won't happen again! well, i dunno about annoying people....i just might LOSE it)
after i beat his SERIOUS team, i'm just yellin "get the fuck outta here" the other way, he goes "excuse me, but do you have some kinda problem or something?" which was music to my ears. i said "look at the way u fuckin play, i mean wtf? u play like a fuckin fag."
and then he goes “well…you shouldn’t use foul language” or some shit like that.
i started laughin and bein the sarcastic fuck that i am, i said “my bad, i’ll try not to cuss next time i beat you.” and i looked back at the cvs2 screen. then another thought suddenly popped into my head and i turned back around to GTU and said “actually u know what? how about u learn how to fuckin play???”
and that was the end of that.

eugene had a similar incident(i actually saw this one). I think Gtu was playing eugene a few times(losing each time) then eugene started to try something different and he ended up losing to GTU’s superior tactic somehow. and Eugene gets up quietly, looks at GTU straight in the face and says “GOOD GAME!” loudly and sarcastically. GTU had the dumbest look on his face. words cannot describe.

I have to apologize for that jab I took at you in the post I made like a day before you posted here. That’s some unlucky shit for me because that is the only thing I’ve ever said about you on this site. The truth is I don’t have a real problem with you…just sort of avoided you after a big showdown we had like…fucking a year ago or something. You’re hella good at all SF games, and I have to respect that.
That thing you said about GTU is hella funny. Once i was playing GTU with like my only CvS2 team and my freind Cevant wanted to use Raiden. I handed him the controls, but he was getting his ass beat because of how badly GTU was turtling. Cevant got so pissed that he slapped GTU’s taunt button and then busted out a level 3 crazy train. GTU stared at Cevant for a while, looking like he was about to cry. Cevant continued to look at the screen for a few seconds, ignoring GTU’s gaze, and then finally turned towards him and yelled, “what, BITCH?”
Overall some funny shit. The only thing that sucked is having to sheepishly take my seat back after Cevant lost w/Raiden.

Out of all my friends who played SC, probably around 20 or so, about 3 or 4 now play WC because it is so much harder, mainly because of the micro. Okay, perhaps mainstream isn’t the most accurate term, but ask any of those “friends” of yours if they’ve ever even heard of warwind. They’re probably a bunch of punks like the guys who play esoteric half life mods looking for fresh meat to rape in their favorite blizzard title. Oh, it could be only 3 or 4 play WAR3 because it’s so much worse than starcraft (disclaimer: educated opinion), a game itself whose balance was constantly shifting in favor of one race or another. that was precisely my problem when i first got the game. It got to the point where i wanted to sell the game, but according to the EB and GameStop reps, they said it couldn’t be sold back because of piracy issues…or something. So, clarissa and I decided to give the game a second go-around, and that’s when i asked you for help on learning the undead. Now all we play is War3, and SC:BW got a lot easier because our micro skills skyrocketed. Too good.
Doug: i felt the same way towards the albino guy. The one that uses hibiki, athena, random/iori. A long time ago, back when i was still playing cvs2 a lot, he beat me with athena’s c.fierce, psycho shot traps, and started to laugh. He told his friend “I’m unbeatable” and shot up his arms like he had just won the superbowl. Granted, he was probably just overjoyed that he actually beat someone, but i got so pissed off that i cheaped his ass with nakoruru/geese/sagat the next match. He got so pissed that he couldn’t get out any moves that he yelled out, “GEEZ, what the fuck? These sticks are stupid,” and I couldn’t hold it any longer and said, “It wasn’t the sticks that forced you into doing something stupid there, champ.” When I took out his athena, he mumbled something about “scrubby,” and though i didn’t catch the whole sentence he used, i said, “go back to stomping on ddr pads, and don’t come back until you learn how to play, dick.” :rolleyes:

acutally the current warcraft patch is pretty balanced. Undead did well in the WWI, 4k.grubby won some other huge tournament (orc player), night elf players have placed high in like every major warcraft 3 event recently, and human is cool thanks to casters, i think that if they didnt change a thing (other than that fucking beastmaster bear) it would be pretty even.
Oh, you misunderstand me: I meant that starcraft balance shifted back and forth for many patches. I haven’t played the game since 1.07? 8? I can’t remember. Anyways, it supposedly evened out but for fuck’s sake…
I don’t want you guys to feel that I have some sort of hidden hatred because you play these games. I mean, I play them myself sometimes when I hear that cool people I know and trust not to be assholes are playing, like abel. I know eugene doesn’t care because he’s a stone-heart.
To tell you the truth, I shouldn’t be singling out blizzard. They’re definitely not the only company that has been keeping this disappointing trend of non-innovation. In fact, lots of companies seem to intentionally imbalance their games. Or mod teams. Just look at counter-suck! Exactly five weapons in that game are useable, plus the insane riot shield. Don’t know whether or not they fixed it’s 180-degree coverage yet. But back to non-innovation, doom 3 is admittadly adhering to “strictly old-school” gameplay. Great. Many recent final fantasy games seem to follow the same damn formula also (I KNOW people still buy… the point is that nobody cares how stale things are).
My only beef with blizzard is their habit of hype and pre-release promises of much more than that with which they actually follow through. Warcraft 3: Six races, rpg-style single-player gameplay. Diablo 2’s colossal act 4 turned into the smallest act in the game with bad graphics, and as it was released many skills were straight up useless compared with others at the same level (I heard this was fixed recently with synergy boni). I’m NOT SAYING that they’re shitty games, but they could have been so much better.
I’m just mad at the corporate giants in general. Valve hasn’t made its own game since half-life. People could write conspiracy theory books on the delay of HL2. EA bought out several companies and fucked them up, westwood, for example. Capcom did a really good job with devil may cry 2, and oh boy did they hype that up. Man.
And here’s a random opinion: I’m convinced that PC Gamer is paid by these companies to give their games good reviews.
So, in conclusion, abel is a slave to the corporate wiles, as well as asian women.

the trick to warcraft 3: lag > skill
yeah, starcraft should have been alot better in terms of variety and graphics and whatnot. Games before it (Total Anhiliation) were in true 3d while blizzard stayed strong with the sprite route. as for warcraft, they did the typical blizzard “add 4 things and totally change the game around” thing. I mean look at how much starcraft changed when they made broodwar. you could actually use stimpak! it was amazing! as for ballance issues, i cant think of one game off the top of my head that just came out and was balanced at the same time, maybe because i too like to ride the shaft of big coporate game companies.

Btw, Elliot, you read into the politics of gaming companies too much. I try to look into games for what they are, and the level of fun I experience from playing them (CvS2 for example, I had’nt played a Capcom game since XMvSF before that and I play it because it’s most enjoyable to me out of all fighting games). Quite honestly, if you ask an average joe gamer on his opinion about the best all-around, up to date real time strategy game out today (not that there are THAT many to choose from), what do you think his answer will be?
