Sure, just post or call me when you want to play. If you happen to be on BNET, you can look me up at account name *Dave868
woah, a cvs2 tourney in zz? haha, man u should publicize that as much as possible! i’m sorry i missed the post, could anyone tell me again?
aight i think i’m coo with most of the people i’m playin, but there are some which i almost can’t contain from saying something out loud…
-
there’s this one i think chinese fobby (excuse my language, but i thought this the briefest way to describe, although it may be inappropriate) guy who plays 3rd strike, and he used to play cvs2 more before. i think everyone knows him as well, but who knows. he picks ryu mainly. the minute the round starts, he backs, and gets ready to throw a fireball. when people jump, he st.rh’s them, or if he has super, cancel his uppercut into super, for parryers, i guess. against him i’ve been patient recently, but like before, i would get super frustrated until i win, and start cussin and shit.
-
this other guy plays cvs2 mostly, and he picks iori, vice, and athena. i think when he gets SERIOUS, he picks r1 vice & r3 iori. his game basically is keep jumping back, and hitting the other guy in the air, or trying to trip them when they’re on the ground. when he gets cornered, he rolls or jumps past the opponent, and starts jumping back again. i just lost it on that guy after i beat him… yeah i know i’m fucked up for that, and i’ve memorized his game almost exactly so that i win, but… i dunno, i guess it’s just me, i get annoyed…
We refer to this fool as GTO (Great Turtle Onizuka). He’s quite the king at turtling, but he’s not an asshole, really. He just doesn’t speak very good english as allen said, so he keeps to himself. I doubt he’ll join the tournament unless he happens to walk in that day before it starts.
this is “Up-Back” or GTU (guess what the U is for). This guy’s personality does kind of match his annoying play style. Hilariously, if you give him a good, old-fashioned beating he’ll retreat to SVC where he can capitalize on extreme balance issues. If you beat him there, he’ll retreat to DDR. I don’t think he’s very likely to enter the tourney, either, unless we do some extreme hype in zz beforehand.
oh man…i wnat to kill myself when i play them…
there’s also the janitor guy. He used to play really annoying, but for some reason it’s not as bad as when i first played him…
the ZZ tourny is on feb 28th, so pretty much show up that day at the least. the rules and stuff are on a page or two ago. But they are still being updated.
CVS2 tourney’s kind of on hold until sticks/buttons are in good condition.
the first guy you mentioned, hehe, yeah, he’s quite the turtler. He’s been known to topple certain “endbosses” by giving him a taste of his own medicine. Just get within range, block/parry, and throw; chances are he’ll throw a fireball/ex fireball/SA1 just to get you to back off.
the second guy, oh man. I played him at cvs2 once, and he made some stupid comment like, “yeah, vice beats kim all the time.” So the next game I used kim/geese/iori, lost iori, then kicked the shit out of his team with just kim. Suffice to say, he didn’t go home happy. I haven’t seen much of him as of late, which i guess is a good thing for a lot of the people that were really irritated with his gameplay.
oh i just like to mention one thing about GTU(the 2nd guy mentioned in doug’s post)
during the time when SVC was still played by people in ZZ…GTU played against my roommate and he beat my roommate with demitri. My roomamte really sucks at 2d fighitng games, and GTU had to rub it in after the match and he said to my roommate "omg did you kno i just beat you with only jabs?"
what a super fag…that’s so fucked up…especially coming from someone with no skills whatsoever in fighting games…i started to hate him a lot more ever since that day he talked shit to my roommate like that…
i forgot…there’s another one who doesn’t play as much, but he used to annoy the hell out of me. most of us refer to him as super mullet. He usually plays R4 kim, or some really annoying team like N groove, vega/kim/mai…and he’ll roll 3-5 times in a row if he feels the need to…
i just dont’ like him cuz he called said i was cheap while i was playing him.
GTU used to be so annoying to play. Now all i need is just a good knockdown with Kyo to fuck him up, slap him in the ass, then tell him to get into the kitchen and cook my dinner. I just tick throw the living fuck out of him with everyone. Oh yeah, he also can’t handle it if i out turtle him with Hao or whore roll canceling with Terry.
GTO gets owned by K-groovers.
GTO and GTU deserves their own thread, where you just talk shit about them.
say Alan, you wouldn’t happen to remember the name of that scrawny asian kid who uses A-groove would you? His two most common characters are Chun Li and Blanka. I knew his name last year, but then i forgot it when i stopped calling him by his name.
if you’re talking about the guy who uses A-ken/blanka/chunliR1, and he always blames his own stupidity when he loses…his name is qwa
EDIT:
a couple warnings/messages:
Rock-- everyone knows how i like to run/shift, 360, raging storm right?
i sort of got the timing down for run/shift, 360, laser, c.rh xx raging storm now. It’s a bit hard for me now, but when i get it down, that run/shift super trick will do even more damage, about 8.4K
john:i know you like the fancy shits, so i thnk you should use C-rock instead of A-rock, for the fact that you can do run/shift, 360, laser, c.rh xx lvl 2 raging storm, high counter(whiff), lvl 1 raging storm or rising tackle(corner only)
Maki–Also everyone knoes that maki’s c.mk xx kick super that i like to do does a tremendous amount of damage(7-8k), but i found out that c.jabx2, s.short xx kick super does the same amount as fierce xx kick super(except c.jabs/shorts xx kick super is more likely to land).
c.jabx2, s.short xx kick super does a good 8.6k damage.
j.rh, land, c.jabx2, s.short xx kick super = 10095 damage!!(K groove)
Eliot:the c.jabx2, s.short xx kick super isn’t as hard as it seems, for some reasons after you do c.jab(2nd one), you can start the 1st qcf motion, and press short at the same time(the command run wont’ come out even if you dont’ use negative edge). You should try this one when you’re using P-maki since it’s pretty easy to stop the motion if the jabs aren’t hitting. i believe this is way better than the c.mk xx kick super that iv’e been doing.
also another trick for maki i believe might work well. After a ‘fierce throw’, manual run up to their corpse, start buffering the 360 motion from foward to down, when you get to down position, press fierce(this will whiff), finish the 720 for the super grab. the timing for this one is way better than command run/stop,720…also the c.fierce causes most people to block. hmm…actually this works for run grooves, i’m not sure if DASH will work with this, but try it out or something. Hope you play more cvs2
To eugene: i hate iori. i hate that stupid c.short xx rekkas , i hate that c.shorts xx super, i hate iori’s CC, i hate his j.mk, i hate his weird ass DP. Everytime you jump in with iori, i’ll will mash on KKK with maki >_<
i refused to be trapped in the corner gettin raped by iori! It’s over eugene!! nothing can stop me now!! sniff…ooh…PORK CHOP SANDWICHES!! OH SHIT! gET THE FuCK oUt Of heRE!! wha…what are you DOING?! GO! get the FUCKout of here, you stupid IDIOT! FUCK!! we’re all DEAD! get the fuck out!..whew…my god did that smell good…
detective, did you know go in, and you tell me do things, i done running
Geee…i…jooeee…
http://media.ebaumsworld.com/index.php?e=gijoe-porksand.mpg
So who’s going to Interf@ce?
You know, dude, I’m the one that said to buffer a 720 over their napping body with a fierce. You are the one that said to do it with a crouching fierce as opposed to a standing fierce, which does look more menacing.
I don’t know about that not running even doing the qcf before kick. It’s either a bug or you’re unconsciously finding a way around it, since cvs2 dreamcast has CRAZY leeway between motions and buttons. I’m used to third strike where you have to hit the button pretty close to your motion, but it seems like if I want to cancel a st.roundhouse into super, with kyo, for example, I have to wait an eternity before doing the qcf motion or else that juggle kick comes out! And no, my hands aren’t lazy, sean has identical motions, so stfu, allen. I don’t know why I’m talking about this, really, because I’d like to try that tactic.
And a question with rock: That fucking shift 360 is really annoying, because I swear I’m jamming up on the joystick as soon as I see you teleport, but I still get grabbed. Can you tell me the latest possible time you need to jump to escape that, because it seems that’s all I can do. I mean, if there’s any other way around that, by all means, tell.
Oh, and I might not be going to interface depending on the time. There will be a buddhist monk talking in the Bren Events center so I’m going to see whether the times conflict or not.
I thought you said you weren’t putting one foot in the zot Zone anymore, Allen?
As with GTU, in SvC, the only problem people might have against him is his Demitri, but there’s a pattern to it; methinks that’s why he doesn’t play me when I play SvC (which I rarely do anymore) Basically, he’s just throw fireballs to build meter then do that dash/teleport so he can grab you into the Midnight Bliss super. If you jump, he’ll try to out-jump you and tag you with the j-D move but that can be stopped with a j-A; if he does try to dash/teleport, just walk back and tag him when he re-emerges. There were so many times when I would see it coming then I just walk back and s-C or c-B -> Reppuken -> Raging Storm.
…or, you could just stop playing such a terrible game.

no no…i swear it’s really easy…just have to learn the timing for it and it’s really easy to get it…maybe it’s different on sticks…
it’s probably because i do the run/shift thing on wake up after i knock you down in the corner. Soon as you get up my grab is already coming. My guess is since i do it on wakeup, i don’t have to worry about the frame start up for the move. But you’re jabs probably have 3 frame start up or more depending on ur character. Plus you’re mashing so you might lose a few frames due to bad timing. All this adds up and gives me a better percentage to grab you on wake up. Something david does to get out of this corner mixup is to jump straight up when i shift.
this is why i havne’t been doing the run/shift as much cuz i need to add pressure with the c.forward xx elbow(plus variations of it) in order for run/shift to work better.
another reason why you may not be able to mash out of it is sometimes i’ll wait a little before i run/shift on ur wakeup. this will cause you to attack AWAY from the corner. The run/shift move has i think 12 frames of invincibility when he’s in “blur mode” right before he goes behind you. so that’s why you often see people jab/strong the wrong way when i do run/shift. then i grab them while they are recoverying from the jab/strong/whtaever they used.
anyways…i sort of got the timing down for the 360, laser, c.rh xx raging storm now…it’s like 30% chance of working now(if i’m concentrating hard)
yea…i say that a lot ^^
plus. John tricked me. I lent him $20 and he told me he’ll return it to me at Zot zone on friday ><…
i probably will try to stay away from zot zone as much as i can, but sometimes fridays i’ll show up to warm up for RFC if eugene and i do go to RFC on friday.
…how can i stay away from ZZ…you guys are there. gotta hang out with you guys ya know<3 haha
or i can try to play World of warcraft beta on my roommate’s comp whenever he receives the package >_<…
WoW: it’s World of Warcraft LOL…when WoW comes out, eugene is gonna quit warcraft 3 to play world of warcraft
Eugene: You don’t like my SPAM? It’s pretty good, dude. And if you’re ever at L & L Hawaiian Barbecue, you should try the SPAM Musubi. It’s Fiercely delicious! (And Brownie points to anyone who knows what SPAM stands for, which are redeemable the next time you see me)
Dude, Spam is good. But not GTU. And Allen, I’ve called you cheap before, but you still love me. Aww.
SPAM = Stupid Pointless Annoying Messages
I will repeat, “jamming up on the joystick.” No “mash” or “jab” is anywhere in that sentence, or my entire post, for that matter. For accusing me of mashing, you can expect a couple of dead loved-ones very shortly.
I propose that everyone stops playing anything by blizzard, and play vintage command and conquer instead.
i remember picking up Tiberian Sun and Red Alert again…and people congratulating me for recovering from the coma i was in for playing said games. So, in lieu of such comments, i refuse, and will play War3 and SC:BW religiously.
For accusing me of being an asiaphile, I will now go pillage some asian booty (harhar, i said ‘booty’)
btw, 3s is fixed, and you can see the score now…if that mattered at all to you, that is
Eliver, stop rolling so much, and footsie some more. You’ll do better and not get caught by so many super traps/baits.
that’s only cuz you don’t wear robin hood outfits to school like SM does
my bad. I’m not sure what you mean by jamming sticks then…are you referring to just like jumping out of it?
if you’re gonna kill my loved ones, you better kill chris and abel<3 haha suckers…
eliot:the c.jabx2, s.short xx kick super for maki is a bit harder on stick than controller>_<. though, i’m sure that if i get some practice on stick i’ll be able to do c.jabx2, s.short xx super easier.
