I kinda see what you mean by this; lately, I’ve been using Cross Chop lots of times during matches, you’d think that they would see it come from miles away. Especially when use Hyper Bomb after the Chop.
I think Alex relies mostly on the mistakes that an opponent would make in a match.
When did someone say they were bad? o_o I think those two are great.
I mean a lot of that stuff that you hype up about Megaman, other characters can do, but better. He’s got decent space control but I’m pretty sure a lot of characters can get around it without much of a problem. Fact is, Mega is gonna have to hit the other person way more than they have to hit him in most cases and he lacks good tools to deal with characters who have excellent movement and / or pokes. Threading the needle can only carry him so far. But hey maybe I’m wrong, I’m only one guy after all. I’ve just never seen anything with Megaman that made me think he was anything more than mid tier.
I agree with this. Rufus was hard to deal with but then people learned “oh wait just do this and his mixup is a lot easier to deal with than originally thought”. I think Blade is solid but he is by no means broke or unbeatable. Once people figure out you can just hit / throw him out of falchion I don’t think they’ll be as scared of him. Then just rush his as down and don’t leave yourself open for 236 super and what can he do to you? It’s just my opinion right now but I have a feeling Zero and probably Karas are going to shit all over him. Karas not so much because he’s a better character but I just see him countering blade’s playstyle. Seems most of blade’s grounded normals get raped by push block > punish and Karas does that very well.
i highly doubt joe will be top tier. he’s my favorite character but he’s not top tier. he’s not equipped well enough for it. sure, he can do some good damage here and there and his supers combo easy enough (except that shit one with the bomb) but he doesn’t have anything to really throw people off other than the rope. the thing is, the rope doesn’t lead to much damage.
The problem is all this speculation is just so-and-so is strong because he/she has this or that and misses the most important part of making a tier list - the MATCHUPS! If you’re going to speculate, at least say why you think so-and-so has an advantage over so-and-so leading to their relative tier position. This way at least we can get some early matchup data which we can test out and learn from.
I think Frank West is underrated. His OTG game is insane, and can do rape combos when coupled with Roll, Casshern, or Polimar
I don’t think match ups are the most important part of a tier list. While they maybe a good indicator of how a certain character may do against another. But once they are in the hands of a person that tends to go out of the window. So match ups can give you an indication of how a character can do against another one it’s not the end all.
Tier lists are generally determined by matchups actually. Like each matchup is tallied into points like 6-4, 7-3 , 5-5 etc etc and then the characters matchups are added up and the ones with the most points are put up top.
So in that regard it is way too early for a tier list since we need to delve into all the characters and see their potential, but I think getting a “general idea” tier list is no problem atm. I don’t know why people have such an aversion to that idea.
Well because you have people running exclaiming their character to be the best in the game with no real solid evidence or not taking into account anything.
Or worse, you got a bunch of rapid fanboys calling all of us tourneyfags and shouting off “TR4Q” cause ____ is low on the list without any evidence to back it up.
No matter what people will complain about a tier list even if it’s official that always happens with out fail. LoL hell I complain about tier list especially when it comes to Tekken 5 I don’t see how Asuka isn’t the best character in the game but whatever what the hell do I know. (that shit irks me) Back on topic LoL. Fan boys never cease to fail and come out of the wood works for these types of things.
Honestly, I think this game will not have many tiers. In fact, I think it is extremely well balanced to the point that even the worst character still could do very well in a tournament.
Na G. Lightchan will get shitted on.
This.
Also, Lightan is not THAT bad. He can still punish if the opponent does something stupid. But I suppose the same could be said for most characters. I’ve had some success as him, you just have to do everything you can to keep your opponent boxed in the corner.
I mean… Zero is the best character in the game at this point in time hands down. Just wait for some tourney results and you’ll see. People aren’t going to listen to me because I’m ahead of the pack is all.
I disagree Zero is good definitely high tier but there’s no way you can put him ahead of jun, chun li, ken the eagle and ryu. There’s nothing you can say that warrants this so knock it off. You’re not the only Zero player the only difference is you’re running spewing this non sense. I don’t even want to here Zero is like Karas in CGoH because he simply isn’t. Comparing the two is like comparing jill and storm in MvC2.
Do Jun, Chun, Ken, and Ryu have post megacrash combos that build themselves 2 bars? Fairly safe non-brqd dragon punches? Can chase an auto tech roll full screen? Can cancel a blocked air normal into an air special that goes into a combo that builds 2 bars? Advance guard fucks with those characters a lot harder than it does Zero.
I’ve fought all of those characters before and I don’t think their design and B&B combos work as well in the engine as Zero and the tools that he has.
meh i think someone could argue fairly well for alot of characters to be the best in the game at this point.
probubly, yatterman #1 , zero, morrigan, chun, ryu, jun would be the most common. but there are alot of obviously fairly strong characters that could be up there depending on how the game went, blade, #2, ippatsuman, saki, doronjo, maybe ken.
but its all theory fighter, i don’t think anyone is so dominating that you can pinpoint the best in the game at this point. in fact i think this game is so balanced that you can barely define upper tier, middle, and lower middle tier. and to try and put a character in an elite class or a garbage class(cept lightan) is going to be silly for a while.
aside from that yatterman #1 best in the game, bet it.
Agreed, you really can’t say anything about Zero right now besides that he does seem like he can run with the better characters. And like it has been stated, the tier list is not even really made yet, so we can’t even say who is high and low tier until then. So far, I also agree with what Onishiba said but a little different, “most” characters can make it up to tourney level play with how this game is actually balanced.
Thats all fine and dandy but his other aspect are certainly lacking. Are you serious their BnB don’t work well what are you basing htis off of?
