TVC UAS Tier list speculation thread

Wait how does Ippatsuman have trouble approaching? His IAD.B is amazing.

I’ve been playing him on my main team and I really think Ippatsuman is great. He’s got that loop off of his DP, he can hit with an IAD j.B and land, 6B and continue the combo, 6B itself is a great move that works wonders as an anti air… his j.B also crosses up as well as hitting pretty far, he smurvs much easier than most characters for some reason… does great damage… you can get in for free with 2C into mix ups off DP or 6C… you can tag into him and get unprorated combos of VARs from bursts and stuff for higher damage, his assist is good.

Not sure why people would but him anywhere below A tier.

Well I didn’t mean Ippatsuman is bad at approaching in general, just against a good Saki.

If Polymar can beat Saki, that alone wont make him place higher than Saki.
You have to consider how he matches up vs the whole cast.
I think you misunderstand how a tier list is read.

I know how a tier list works. I’m just trying to understand how Polymar has enough bad matchups that he’s in B-tier. From what i’ve seen of Polymar, he’s A-tier material easy.

thats how everyone thinks at first looking just at his damage and mixup and assist. but he’s actually a pretty bad character match-up wise. he can’t get in easily and is ultra short range type character, and has bad air to ground so he has to work harder to get clean hits. air to air he is decent and it leads into damage but against better air to air combatants even this can be hard. overall lots of work and it will probubly only get worse as players improve.

he isn’t going to be A tier, and if he did become A tier it would mostly just be due to the merit of his assist and var for better point characters, as a point character he might even be C tier.

Saki isn’t better than Ippatsuman, he’s godlike imo. And Polymar isn’t that hot, Saki’s definitely a better all around character than Polymar. Plus, I’ve yet to see anyone using Saki properly.

Someone gets confused easily, lol.

Saki is absolutely a beast, she can just destroy characters who have trouble getting in (alex, polymar, frank west, giants) with very little recourse. She’s seriously like the cable of this game.

Yeah Saki is good… although I haven’t seen enough of her to say HOW good. What does she do once people get in on her?

And I agree with what shiki said about Polymar pretty much. He’s good in theory when the other guy isn’t pressing buttons but pretty much everything he does has tyrannosaurus arms reach and his hit boxes are pretty weak at that. I think he’s just too bad at neutral to really be that good of a character.

Lol, yeah…
I meant “better all around character than Polymar.” I fixed it now.

Edit:

Block/push-block or variable counter. Super jump to escape if you get the opportunity. She doesn’t have much in the way of defensive gimmicks.

Edit:
Unless you mean when they just get near. If that’s the case then she can aa w/ C grenade, j.A, j.B, air throws, certain assists, and, most importantly, her beam super, which is a godlike aa. Her 2A and 2B are actually really good normals also, so your opponent can’t just run in and press buttons.

I have a feeling Morrigan’s gonna be up there. She has so many options that even her wonky air dash is a “plus”.

Tekkaman is so useful. He can be a tank, he can be a good stalling character, he can attack with massive damage, his assist is extremely useful, his super’s cover full screen, he has a bunch of long ranged moves. With outstanding qualities like that, I believe he is the best character in the game.

He might be that good, yes, I use him sometimes too, but sadly he’s NO MATCH for Zero or Karas.

Tekkaman is a good character who still hasn’t been fully realized, but he’s in no way the best character. High-tier? That’s even pushing it. I think he’ll rest somewhere in the middle-tier when all’s said and done. What he’s most useful as is an assist character. His assist is by and far the most combo-intensive assist in the game, allowing for all sorts of tricky juggles - it opens up worlds of combo potential for several characters. He’s also equipped with some of the best supers for the sake of DHCs.

basically what im hearing is the game is very balanced sofar so nobody knows who is clear cut top.

Also this being a vs games means you should be trying to tier by characters but by teams.

What do you think is holding Tekkaman back from being recognized as one of the top characters in this game?

he and his moves are slow and his approach is limited to using j.c for the most part, which is really high priority and good for crossups but it is his only really solid tool. his charge lance and whip can land too but you arn’t going to be able to build a game around them. he has some basic pressure and good range on his moves but they are slow and laggy so they can’t be relied upon on a large scale.

basically a hard hitting but simple to the point of being a very limited character.

that’s what i think but i’m not a tekka player.

He may have damage and range, but his moves are loaded with a lot of start-up and recovery frames. Because of this, he is very weak when faced with good rushdown and consistent pressure; i.e., he is at a really big disadvantage against basically every high-tier character.

…what they said. He’s a little bit better then people have been giving him credit for, but high pressure characters like Zero, Chun, Jun, Yatterman #2 and Yatterman #1 are a bitch to fight against. On a pure 1 v 1 tier list he wouldn’t place any higher then middle-tier. If you’re to calculate his usefulness as a team member, however, he’d be a higher-tiered character (upper-mid or the fringes of high).

Agreed that he is under-rated though. If you can keep a good distance, block patiently and abuse j.C, you can do pretty well. His damage and range are amazing. Definitely my favorite character. I use Joe the Condor as a partner and so far I think it’s been a good match. (I actually use Tekka more than Joe.) Too bad everyone and their second cousin uses Zero.
