Oh right, I agree man. I just think Karas has better tools for most situations than everyone else. I know it’s more theory fighter and all in how the player actually applies it, but really, Karas is theoretically unstoppable, and not only that but easy to play, unlike someone like Yatterman. Yatterman seems really good in theory too but his infinite is way harder to do and his pokes are harder to apply.
Anyway look at it like this:
Karas has the best pokes in the game. He has a low that goes halfway across the screen and combos into an infinite. If they push block and try to punish you can cancel into 5C or sword spin OR counter super.
Sword Spin has a practically unbeatable hit box which can stop any air approach pretty much safely and can be done after any normal or any dash-slide rep for safety in case they try to retaliate. On hit you can combo it into the infinite. It can be used on wakeup as a reversal.
5B and 5C both work as good anti airs. This game lacks a lot of anti air.
5B and 2B work as amazing ground control. Karas can easily take advantage of any opening or take control of the opponent and force them to block at any point in the match when he’s not in block stun.
After push blocking, karas doesn’t have to move forward to retaliate, meaning he can punish more things in the game than anyone else.
Counter super deters repetitive instant air dashing, where as many other characters have no real answer to this. Yes it can be baited but if you use it sparingly, it’s a great tool to have, and can be applied in other situations as well.
Sword spin super does retarded block damage, usually killing people with 5-10% health left even if they block and hits full screen no matter where they are and is unpushblockable (lol new word).
Can combo into his level 3 off of a throw. Wow someone can make a throw count for something in TvC?
Has a dash that can cross people up and also seems to have some invincibility, but can be canceled into anything.
Has an infinite that works full screen which is EASY to do and can combo from virtually any move.
Can combo a Mega Crash from further away than any other character in the game and can also lead it into an infinite. HITTING KARAS LEADS INTO YOU GETTING INFINITED.
Has some of the best meter building in the game. This means…more megacrash into free combos than other characters.
Can use the dash attack to cover the entire screen almost instantly, getting in on runaway saki and the like.
He is a ninja. Also according to my friend that takes japanese, the kanji that appears when his counter super hits is “slash”. That’s so dumb that it’s awesome.
But seriously. Tell me this shit doesn’t add up to retarded, especially at high levels where it’s all being applied.
