TTT2U Questions and Complaints

I run a Heihachi/Nina team and wanted to know how should I optimize them with TA combos? I’m still really new on what should I be doing with them.

ive been derping with these 2 for the last half hour or so, the best i could come up with was 92 damage mid screen, Hei: EWGF, f+3, df+1,2~5 Nina: SS+1~f, cd+4,3 Hei: QCF+2
you can also do some shit off of ff+3 which looks pretty cool, does more damage and ff+3 is a safe launcher. Hei: ff+3, EWGF, d+1~5 Nina: (See Previous Combo) Hei: b+1+2,1+2

Soooooo. Hows Kuma?

DJ’s b,f+2,1 (Laser Scraper) string catches steppers reliably. Some moves aren’t tagged with a “homing” streak/icon but track well to both sides.

SSL = sidestep left
SWL = sidewalking left

Whenever you read that, it’s always referring to YOUR character’s direction.

I don’t think you reliably sidestep EWGF unless they’re dead in your face and on negative frames. It’s just one of those moves with a fat hitbox. Dash electric is even worse because the f,f input realigns them with you.

Certain high crush moves and chars with low stances can dissuade Mishima players from using it, but bottom line you’re going to eat that move if they’re good enough. Magic 4s have smaller hitboxes but are faster so that’s something too if your character has a good one.

How fast are electrics? I always figured they were 14 frames with a slight high/mid crush window or or just crazy good priority.

A perfectly executed electric is 13 frames, at least from Kaz, not sure about the others.

In that case most characters 4 can help deter some of the dash up electric pressure. How much advantage does a blocked electric give?

+5 lol

For all the tekken purists or should I say 3D purists, what do you like about and dislike about 2D fighting games?

dislikes = capcom

Pretty much.

Capcom had a generation or two where they had some really cool ideas and even though they weren’t always implemented well, the games still had quality and style. Capcom these days is just fucking up from multiple angles, so that’s pretty much it. Most 3D players I know have one or two 2D games they also really love, but Capcom games are usually not part of that group.

I like 2 and 3D games if they play well. Capcom is just fucking up right now. I’m hoping this is just a rough patch in it’s career. Guilty Gear and Persona are my 2D games of choice. I would say 3s but theres no reason to try to get good at that game now even though it’s my favorite fighter of all time.

Yusuke:
EWGF: 13 for Kaz, 14 for Hei/DJ
It’s +5 on block, PLUS huge pushback.

Lars’ d/f+1 stuffs it.

Lars/Bruce or Bruce/Lars?
Benefits to either order?

Also… cheap team?

i would play Lars on point just to make use of f+1+2~5 into Bruce wall carry shit for that red health, a problem i see is Lars usually bounds pretty late into a combo and i dont think Bruce has any good damaging TA fillers that late into a combo, so you would probably have to try and bound earlier to make up for this and im not really sure, but im thinking lars has really not very good enders mid screen. Another thing you are lacking with this team is the ability to take red health off of big counter hit moves which these 2 do best off of characters that can tag buffer moves off of a counter hit (Nina, Steve, Bryan, ect) my opinion on the team, your probably gonna be doing some really extreme wall damage, but it looks like your gonna be playing 2 solo characters, but hey, i could be completely wrong

VERY cheap team.

Yes. Cheap. VERY FUCKING CHEAP. Which is exactly why you should pick them.

Cool. I’m going to learn it now. Bruce has some cheap damage shit too…

launcher, f+3, 434, MTS f+1, B!, 3,2~f1, 3,2~f2

Dumb fucking shit, no skill, 60+ damage. WTF? Took me like 10 minutes to figure this combo out.

I like Bruce. He’s cheap.

I wish I had the time to learn how to step Baek and Hwoarang.

Bruce gets at least 70 for easy. Even 90 and 100 by himself if you have a wall.

On an unrelated note. I’m trying to explain to my friend that doing strings in Tekken is a terrible idea. He’s like “Well this is how I want to play.” But he keeps complaining about losing…SMH. On top of that he plays Hworang. Why do scrubs like Hwo, Steve and Laws so much?
