Transformers TV/Movie Thread - WAR FOR CYBERTRON: EARTHRISE (A Netflix Original) Streaming Dec 30!

Like I said, he’s clueless.

I was busy when BB was in theaters, so I waited for the home release to finally see it. I liked it. I’d put it just a bit above the 2007 movie. The first 5 minutes was amazing. If we ever get a full movie like that first five minutes, I’d be floored. The human scenes were far more bearable. The goofiness was at a minimum. I’m glad they cut out that home appliance scene. It felt like it was ripped from the 2007 movie.

Spoilers

One thing I hated from the Bay films that carried over to BB was the killing off of Decepticons too fast. Blitzwing dead in minutes lol cmon. Couldn’t at least leave Shatter alive as a future threat? Why is Barricade the only one who magically survives movies?

You could also tell that this movie was made in a way to keep the Bay films canon intact just in case it bombed. Like Bee’s final alt mode and treating Megatron and the Decepticons like “he who must not be named”.

Barricade is one of the best character ideas to come out of the Bayverse.

He is a robot in disguise while in disguise.

He’s one of my favorite characters from the Bay films. Wasn’t a fan of his redesign in TLK. Wasn’t a fan of TLK at all lol. I was hoping that the police car chasing them through the tunnel in BB was Barricade.

Didn’t see that coming down the pipe today!

Wonder who the voice of Prime is. Megatron is the same guy who voice him in the Machinima series. He was the best part of the whole thing.

I doubt we’ll get Peter Cullen and Frank Welker to voice Optimus Prime and Megatron.

I’m okay with that…I welcome new voice talent that would carry the two characters.

If it’s a continuous narrative, I doubt it at this point. Both actors are in their 70s (Cullen-78, Welker-73).

Yeah I love them both but I would not object to them getting to retire from the roles they have done time and again over the decades and see a new voices carry the legacy.

You could say he’s the robot, playin a robot, disguised as another robot!

Transformers: War For Cybertron Trilogy

It is the final hours of the devastating civil war between the Autobots and Decepticons. The war that has torn apart their home planet of Cybertron is at a tipping point. Two leaders, Optimus Prime and Megatron, both want to save their world and unify their people, but only on their own terms. In an attempt to end the conflict, Megatron is forced to consider using the Allspark, the source of all life and power on Cybertron, to “reformat” the Autobots, thus “unifying” Cybertron. Outnumbered, outgunned, and under SIEGE, the battle-weary Autobots orchestrate a desperate series of counterstrikes on a mission that, if everything somehow goes right, will end with an unthinkable choice: kill their planet in order to save it.

So this is what the toys were made for? To hype this show?

Yes. . . . ish . . .

The fact that they are technically in the second series now with the toy line just seems like a strange move. You pretty much can’t get any of the Siege figures now (sans Ultra Magnus and Shockwave). However, they are new releasing decos of the characters how they look on the show. Megatron looks far better with the Netflix paint scheme.

While I won’t buy it again, the Netflix Meg’s looks nice and better than the default and cel shaded version imo.

I also like the white packaging. I haven’t really seen a white TF packaging that grabbed me since TF Cybertron line in 2005.

I do intend to double dip on that Megs. I’ll cut my losses on the original figure.

That packaging is a move to limit/eliminate plastics being used.

haha I still see a few Hounds, Sideswipes, Ultra Magnus’, Starscreams and Megatrons at my Wal-Mart.
