Transformers: The war for Cybertron- release date June 22nd!

Yeah it took some beatings for me to understand that scouts should be played like rouges otherwise you will die non stop. Sometimes you just have to let kills getaway or run away to live. Scout can tank pretty good once you get a 5 kill streak tho with the energy regain. I have a over shield and then popped that and killed a group of 3 dashing around melee’n and shot gunning. Trying to kill a solider or leader one on one in a small area is death. Honestly if i have a large area its not that bad.

Also scouts in death-match compared to playing team death match are whole different game styles.

If someone uses whirlwind just run towards them and double jump over them (delay the second jump) and usually you can shoot them before they get to you, better yet use hover if you have it. BTW whirlwind gives a bigger weapons damage boost then any other ability so it’s pretty useful.

What’s th le best weapon set up for scout?

Well, if you’re using Cloak + Surprise Attack, then I would say Shotgun and Pistol.

If you are using Cloak + Backstab, then you’re probably going to go Pistol and Sniper.

Autobot’s campaign > Decepticons

How do some of you guys play the Scientist? I cant seem to get enough kills but i do great with healing teammates. Should i be more aggressive?

yeah, the scout is my shit. i tried playing the other classes, cant even do it

Here is how to play Scientist and Scout well:

Wait till you see a Soldier die.
Grab his Mini-gun.
Win.

For Scientist I recommend:

Sentry
Drain

Sentry is awesome and Drain helps you stay alive if you run into another Scientist/Scout (doesn’t work well against Rocket Launchers or Mini-Guns).

So, the plan is to grab a Mini-Gun. Place yourself on slightly higher ground (not so high that you can’t hit with the mini-gun). Drop a sentry in the air near you. Have the sentry’s back against a wall (preferably right above a doorway). The sentry can’t hit there, but he will be slightly less exposed. Then you watch the doorway/sentry and if you see someone come through the doorway, then you shoot OR if you see the sentry shoot, then you turn around and shoot. I went 7 and 1 doing this (would probably not have died, but I abandoned the strategy because I was getting a little bored).

It also really helps if you know where all the Overshields are.

lag has been appearing a lot lately online

I hear there should be a patch coming soon

Like I’ve said a couple times on GFAQs. I haven’t had any problems with lag. I have joined laggy games, but I just leave and join another. It seems like a few people are having lag problems though.

Also, more Scientist tips.

EMP Shotgun is strong as hell. I recommend using it (until you get that Mini-gun), but if you have to reload, then either switch weapons or Transform and Roll Out. Shockwave is great against Soldiers. They WW and you Shockwave right before they get to you. You can usually hit 2 shotgun blasts, a shockwave, and then two more shotgun blasts in the time it takes for a Soldier to WW (you can drop a Sentry too).

Was able to put some time in. Enjoying single player so far. Just started the third act on hard.

This game is so ridiculously fun. I haven’t even touched multiplayer yet but I’m loving the campaign. The Transforming mechanic makes for so many awesome possibilities, and High Moon was absolutely right in not putting in a cover mechanic.

I’m on the last campaign - and so far, no Wheeljack?

Finished campaign last night on hard with some friends in co-op. Campaign is really solid, and a lot of fun.
Don’t wanna give away any spoilers, but I’m very hopeful that high moon/activision announce “Transformers: Generation One” as a direct sequel in a few months. A direct retelling of the original storyline in this engine would be very epic and well received by the fans.

I heard somewhere also that hasbro has announced that wfc is now official tf storyline cannon. Which is pretty cool to the fans as well.

But yeah, going into multiplayer full force now. If anyone is on pc and wants to add me or get games in, just send a pm (I run a private vent, so you’re welcome there too). If not, I’ll probably have ps3 version in a few weeks.

Scientist sounds so broken on paper; can ascend/descend, fastest character, has an abilitthat deals amage and knocks back, can deploy an extra attacker making enemies focus on 2 targets, has an awesome gun that’s basically the battle rifle of TF. But then that 3hp…

X2 scrapmaker is easily the best gun it kills very fast, has plenty of ammo, can kill from medium-long range too. Whirlwind is probably the best ability since it’s basically a free kill especially since soldier has so much hp you can just take hits and run into anyone.

Warcry and thermo mines are pretty cool and fusion cannon+double jump is stupidly easy to win with.

Scout can turn invisible, has an auto shotty, and a perk that lets him do more damage on decloak.

Pretty damn well balanced game especially respectable with how different the classes are.

You got this on 360 Zoo? Im gonna grab it this weekend, got a bunch of SRK heads who are digging on this game, some hot co op/vs robots in disguise action is imminent!

This game is one of the best shooters this year.

Loving the Scientist class now, I thought it was kinda weak when I couldn’t seem to rack up kills in TDM but the key is to play like an opportunist coward. Basically be Starscream incarnate. I have Drain and Sentry with either the shotty or smg set up and I get double kills consistently. At the first sign of being out gunned I jet out, and nothing catches a cowardly Scientist, nothing.

Nobody seems to play Leader class correctly. They rush in, use Warcry for themselves, toss the shield at random, completely misuse the mine, etc. After a few weeks when everyone’s powered up and the game gets played to it’s limits things may change, but right now the Leaders I see suck. I’d play leader but I’m grinding Scientist now.

Scouts are currently the most dangerous class. Games are contingent on which team has better Scout players.

Tanks are fun to use but probably easiest to kill, in the same manner online 'Giefs are fairly easy to counter (with how the general population uses him). They can be a nuisance if left unchecked, though.

The number of players online is an insult to this game.

A good scout is a pain, at 1st i was kinda upset because i couldn’t get more than 8 -9 kills a game in TDM but the fact that as a scout you prob only give away 2-3 kills to the other team is huge.

beast team make up imo

2 scouts
2 solider
1 leader
1 scientist.

Up coming patch is going to be dope. The lack of Host Migration won’t be such a big deal anymore.

They had better do a full-on g1 style on earth as a sequel. Although, I’m not sure home megatron would work…maybe transform into a gun and have another character tag in to shoot him hehe

This is not always true. If you have more than 2 Scouts on a 5 person team (or 1 Scout on a 4 person team), then you will have a hard time winning.

I’ve played in a couple 4 v 4 games where one team had 3 Scouts and 1 Soldier/Leader/Scientist and the other team had 3 Soldiers and 1 Scout/Leader/Scientist, and the Scout team always loses. It isn’t that the players were terrible, but 3 Scouts can not go up against 3 Soldiers that stick together.
