Disguise sucks if you think you are going to infiltrate the other team. Disguise is awesome if you want fly around as a Jet.
It is easy to see if someone is really on your team or not, because a disguised opponent does not have a health bar like the rest of your team (this only works if you are playing scientist) and your reticule turns red. This is why Disguise sucks for infiltration. But, while you are Disguised, you cannot be locked-on to by the other team. This means that it is actually safe to fly around like a jet (normally it is a deathwish because of other Jets and rocketlaunchers). I rarely fly as a jet (other than just to run away) unless I am disguised.
been playing TDM on PSN as a Leader. got to lvl 12 and i usually kick the most ass. my only problem with the game, aside from some connection problems, is a lack of another decepticon chassis for the leader. yknow…cause sometimes i DONT want to be a Soundwave that inexplicably turns into a mini van. it especially hurt when i found out Shockwave was a jet too and not another leader chassis like he should be.
Yeah, TDM can be a bitch. I want to master the leader class, but the scientist and scout appear to be what more people are using. It’s a lot easier to land kills with these classes. The lack of dashing with the Leader class is what kills it for me. I really want to use the Optimus Prime chassis, but I want to be more mobile. We will see the benefits once I level up.
I know, I just had to respond. Let me know when you get on. I dont mind running through Campaign again.
I’m not certain why people keep complaining about connection issues. There are some issues, but it is clearly host dependent. If you are having lag, then just leave the game and join another. If you start as the host, then just wait for the room to fill (doesn’t take long).
EDIT: Also, if you’re playing scout/scientist and the other team has a ton of tanks/leaders, then you are fucked. Stupid whirlwind attack straight decimates scout/scientist. They can just activate it and run right into you without fear of them dying before they get to you.
Hottest escape I saw done. My brother was being chased by a soldier as a scout. Proceeded to fall back. Approches an overhang, “Fake” jumps as if he was trying to leap to the otherside, Does a second jump, Transforms and boosts over the dude’s head.
too funny cause he turned the corner, cloaked, and hid by the wall of a tunnel and donkey konged a bitch
Having played through the decepticon campaign on hard with some other peeps Has made me realize that there are quite some funny glitches in this game. It’s not too gamebreaking since I find myself laughing when it happens and it hasn’t happened at too critical of a point…save one:
Me: Alright guys we’ve gone into that room and had our asses handed too us. We need a plan…FIRST…WAIT UNTIL EVERYONE IS AT THE DOOR BEFORE YOU GO IN.
Other 2 peeps: =D ‘Leroy Jenkins’ right on in and the door closes behind them locking me out of the fight. They continue not even noticing that i’m fucking outside of the door and end up getting killed
Me:…picard facepalm
Glitch to use the Tank Cannon in robot mode (I tried it with all the Scout and Scientist actions, but it only seems to work with Whirlwind).
EDIT: I finally used the Soldier class. Easily the best class. I have a level 9 Scout and level 8 Scientist, and when I play with one of those I usually get about even kill/death. So, I use Soldier and my first game I get 11 and 2 k/d; then the second game I go 12 and 2 k/d. It is too strong.
Man I hate being broke. I won’t be able to get this game untill next week probably. My friend has it and man is it fun. I was a scientist in multiplayer doing some sick shit. With the scientist you have to use hit and run tactics or you will die. And make sure to heal your team because if you don’t then you are a useless scientist. One match I jetted around to get a good sniper point and landed on top of a building where nobody else could get to me except other scientist. Got a few kills with the burst rifle. Noticed a scout sneaking up behind a teammate of mine. So I transformed and bosted to him like a hawk after its prey. Before he attacks my partner I transform in mid air and come down on him with a melee attack. Then I used the energon ray on him for the kill. My friend was like yo…that was hot. After that I started healing my teammates. We won the match by like 12 kills because I kept healing my team and doing hit and run. Had a 14-4 kill ratio and that was my first time using a scientist. Can’t wait to get this game for myself…
Yeah I love soldier, but he gets completely owned by the scout’s sniper rifle. It’s like TF2 where the sniper owns the heavy. Still though, soldier is my most played class, followed by leader.
Any of you guys have a favorite class, and what abilities/weapons do you use. With soldier the minigun (I forget the name) is always my primary weapon. I dont even bother using the secondary weapon lol. I ALWAYS have whirlwind equipped, and my usual build has the ammo drop in the other slot. FYI when you stand next to your ammo drop you get a damage boost (you get a triangle shape around your crosshair). Tank mode is really good when used as long range artillery. I get a ton of assist points by firing into groups of enemies. I mess around with hover but it’s largely useless. You waaayyyyyy too slow while hovering and you a huge fuckin target. It’s fun to mess around with but I’d never use it in a serious match.
With the leader class I always have warcry, as there’s no point in playing the class without it IMHO. I change the primary weapon alot. The huge ass cannon is good for splash damage. ALOT of people are whoring the shit out of it because they double jump all day and shoot at your feet. The splash damage makes up for their lack of aim, and the double jump makes it hard to hit them with any of the slower weapons. I feel dirty playing like that but whatever lol. There’s a semi auto pistol with 5x zoom that I use for my primary as well. It’s fairly powerful and you can use it as a mini sniper rifle. The third weapon I tend to use as primary is the rapid fire assault rifle. The damage per shot is low but if you can get someone in close range under concentrated fire then they are getting fucked up quick. I use the assault rifle in conjunction with the ball ability (I forget the name–it’s the ball that slows down enemy movement speed when they get close to). The ball is really fucking good for keeping other classes away from melee. It’s saved me a ton of times when some soldier starts using whirlwind. I’ve been trying to use the shield a bit more, since my main soldier build had ball + warcry for the abilities. The shield is great if you suddenly find multiple enemies closing in and you need to escape, or if you need to protect a medic healing you. I think it’ll end up being very valuable on coordinated teams.
I like to play Scout, and here is what I do. I never attack unless I have Cloak on. I use the skill that extends Cloak time and the one that increases attack when Cloak cancels. My other action is Dash. Main weapon is the full-auto Shotgun.
Warcry – Run away or if they are currently fighting someone else, get close and shotgun.
Whirldwind – Dash backwards and you should be out of their range. I suggest running as soon as whirlwind ends, because their mini-gun will fuck you up.
Sentry – No good choice but to run away. You can try to stay and kill the Scientist, but if they grenade or Drain, then you will lose.
Remember, you can always start with an EMP grenade, and if it hits meaty then you will have a huge advantage.
