…seriously?
and by that i mean characters that appeared only on one console and were then made exclusive to that console or possibly a character not from capcom or marvel…(hey guest characters are a thing with some fighters)
Why does it matter if Kratos is balanced? He won’t be played competitively so i don’t see the point
Hopefully PS3.
dont you guys get it?
the competitive and tournament scene is literally less that 2% of the sales they make on fighting games.
they dont give a fuck if we dont use him, 98% of the people that buy the game are gonna use him all they want on PSN.
all this talk about “making the game competitive and tournament worthy” is just their way of saying “we balanced it this time”.
plus he’s gonna be lower tier too, at least by first judgement. time will tell.
again, NOT THAT IS MATTERS…but PSN tourneys LOOK OUT!
If anything, there should be 2 different tournaments. One w/ Kratos, the other w/o (most like being used for EVO and stuff). Problem solved I say.
i think kratos will be a good character
problem is most people are gonna shy away from him just because he’s banned in tournaments
People should use him in tournaments. If there isn’t a reason to ban him involving that he has stuff that dominate the whole class, then he should be allowed. We should be over this arcade standard/banning BS.
lucky for you over 90% of the online players will use him to death.
Gotta disagree; it’s completely unfair towards Xbox players who have no ability to practice against him and learn what he is able to do.
If one group of players is coming into the tournament with a handicap created by that tournament, then you’ve already got a problem.
To make an analogy; imagine that Starcraft had a fourth race that only half the community could access. If that race was allowed in tournaments, it would dominate, because people who are unable to play as or against them will have no feel for timing, strategies, or ways to exploit the map against that race. Same basic principle goes for Kratos; if you aren’t able to get a feel for how he plays or how to counter him then it’s unfair to allow him to be played in tourneys.
Plus, that would require every tournament to be PS3 standard, which could pose logistical problems.
jesus christ…ugh.
why? because you said so? you dont get it, because anyone with a clue and sense of how things work wouldnt even question it. dont even bother replying or continuing this topic.
As a ps3 player, i always feel shunned at local stuff which is 360 centric.
So just ended up dual modding a 360 TE but still doesn’t answer where the community for this game will be. I think ps3 has caught up considerably but for fucks sake, this lag issue is batty. I hope mk9 does not have this issue. But I read somewhere that games are always made for xbox first then ported to ps3. So since its not optimized, the extra lag will always exist. Makes me grumble. I just refuse to pay 50 bucks to game online.
It has nothing to do with power, simply practice. On both sides of the issue, if you expect Kratos to be playable and main them and then you end up having to play a tournament round on a 360, you’re in bad shape. Or if you’ve never seen Kratos because you bought the game and play it on a 360 and then you run into him in a tournament…
Frankly, there’s just no reason to deal with it, it just creates unnecessary headaches all around, and this is from someone who usually plays PS3.
Wow, StarCraft? I have never played either games, so I wouldn’t know.
Of course I understand this reason. Since Kratos does not exist in 360 ver, those players would not have access to him and study him. SC2 was worse in that respect, 3 chars for 3 vers and not everyone can practice with them.
Dude, I’m not forcing any views on anyone. Just showing my views of the matter. Don’t have to be picky about the subject matter.
I think Tim, and quite frankly, myself are kinda sick of the counter-arguements (if you even wanna call it that) as to why Kratos should not be banned. It’s plain and simple, idk why the naysayers can’t see the point. Kratos is a PS3 exclusive, he’s not on 360. 360 players won’t have matchup experience. Tournament directors have every right to ban him.
That is if they want to ban them. I guess it all depends on who is running the tournament and how it is runned.
Exactly, no hate to Kratos, it’s just too much of a headache to deal with. Not gonna lie, He looks fun, I’ll probably end up playing him a lot. Still doesn’t mean it’s a good idea.
I would be extremely surprised if Kratos was not banned at anything even resembling a professional or well-organized tournament.
Fuck up about Kratos, no one serious about this game cares. The real question is which version is superior on a technical level? Does anyone know yet?
I own both Ps3 and 360 and I will buy the best version of it, and kratos be damned.
