Tournament Readiness

Tbh I use balrogs sweep all day long. And I fall (block both hits) for guiles sweep constantly. I really need to learn to FA that or something, but I always react late to it. Ahh well. I’m improving slowly but surely. My win rate online was at 12% when I first started. It’s creeping up into the 30’s now lol

Edit: There is a lot of unnecessary hostility in this thread. No need for name calling and shit talking when you get right down to it.
Geift got beat and ragequit. It happens all the time. Hopefully he has thought about the things that beat him and has learned to counter them.

He asked for constructive criticism on his gameplay, not his attitude and now this thread has developed into a bunch of personal attacks. I understand the idea of keeping people in check, but I’m not sure any gameplay advice has been offered. Just a bunch of flaming via the safety of the internet.

Not exactly welcoming to the newcomers. Quite honestly you guys don’t even really know the guy and I can understand how he’s probably mad that he had one bad moment and everyone is jumpin down his throat about it. Coming from the standpoint of a newcomer to the scene, the whole thing is pretty intimidating already. You have 50-60 people who know each other pretty well within a pretty competetive environment and you are the automatic outsider. Makes it tough already without everyone judging you because of an attitude slip up.

TLDR: Cut the man some slack. Stop being an internet tough guy. Get back on topic.

Lets just say our apologies, shake hands and call it a day.

Geift, you’re doing a great job at not becoming tournament ready. A few points I’d like to point out

Samson and Chris aren’t all that Seattle has to offer. You need to step out of your comfort zone and see who else is there to play.

Bitching about how you have to play on your lap isn’t an excuse at all. People have been playing on both cabinets and consoles since the marvel days. Adapt, learn how to do it. That’s all there is to it.

As people have said money matches aren’t intended to be friendly, who wants to happily give their money away to someone, if you know someone that is down like that send them my way cause I <3 money.

Your attitude and outlook on how you are as a player stinks. Like many have said, if you go in with a defeated mindset you are already defeated.

Bison = X Box live Bullshit? Hardly. Learn how to beat a headstomp whoring Bison, cause that’s X Box live Bullshit, Riki using Roundhouse, guess what you’re not special Riki uses Roundhouse against EVERYONE. Why because it’s one of Bison’s best tools…you know like how Zangief’s best tool for people that jump in is LARIAT. Losing to something doesn’t mean it’s cheap, you are just lacking knowledge. And to come out and disrespect someone like that isn’t going to score you any cool points around these parts. It’s only going to do the opposite.

You want to bet against Elias the Flyest? Again I repeat myself:

GAMEWORKS IS NOT THE END ALL OF GOOD PLAYERS BUDDY.

I got money on Elias, he can bring out his rusty ass El Fuerte, or he can get cute and bring his Rufus to the table, better yet how about he just picks “?” on you, oh that’s right “?” isn’t available at Gameworks.

You need to realize that the fighting game community doesn’t just reside in arcades anymore like the good old days. And if you want in you need to check yourself cause with this attitued you’ll be quickly unwelcomed like Rommel.

@ Adam: Actually a lot of people do know of him, I know that he was tryin to talk shit about MY Bison after I beat his ass with nothing but headstomps cause he got a lucky round on me after he empty jumped ultra. Riki’s advice while kinda low blowing it at some points, was pretty much telling the guy to stop making excuses as to why he lost. If he can’t even change that small aspect about his mindset towards this game he’ll forever be a scrub.

Scrub = player’s that don’t/refuse to learn.

as harsh as that sounds it’s the damn truth.

The greatest troll thread?

Wow. Seattle, you are fucking silly.

first impressions last forever right??? and name calling online is dope. keep doin it. not like you live in the same ci… oh shit…

wow… I love this thread.

Thanks for the gas money.:arazz:

JUSTIN WONG THE GREATEST GOD OF STREET FIGHTER IN AMERICA plays with the stick on his lap. At least in one of the youtube videos I have seen.

Focus - dash - throw is free on the second hit of the sweep. Except maybe if you play like… Gief, or maybe Dhalsim with their slow dashes. That’s the easiest knee-jerk reaction to it I can think of. Depends who you play. If they’re really predictable/obvious with their sweeps you can just ultra in between with a lot of characters.

I haven’t had a real problem with anyone in person, and NO ONE has said anything to me. I’d just like to end the bullshit to be completely honest. I’ve lost my cool a couple of times in the past. I’m an adult, and you all seem really cool. I hope I didn’t offend anyone too much.

On a separate note, I’d like to add that I believe there IS such a thing as friendly money match. When you have 300 credits on your card you start to care a little less about who wins and loses! I would like to do it to kick my butt in gear and be a bit more patient when I play. That’s been my biggest problem.

This is what we like to call, having a good attitude. Good job, I’m sure if you respond like this to situations then you’ll have alot less negativity towards you.

i hate you eman. you and your bison. i hope you fail. =X… i jk i jk.

Yuck, thanks for the info. I don’t play against many competitive players, just Ghrrk, and he usually doesn’t play Sagat. I been playing a bit on the PC, trying really hard to pick another character but I really can’t decide. I’m just hoping they buff Guile some in Super. I’ll still be playing and practicing and maybe when I feel ready I’ll come out to play and get some real good practice in. I love watching though, you learn so much and definitely see where characters have potential as well as meet some cool people. Thanks for the tip though, Elias ‘The Flyest’.

Thanks for the great advice. I’ll have to hit up training mode tonight. Only problem is training mode is too predictable sometimes. But I suppose that doing this a few hundred times will make it an automatic response.

I kinda wish training mode had some kind of AI settings. Like if you suck against tick throws, there would be an AI setting where you could fight the comp and he would use quite a few tick throws while still using other techniques. Ah well. Practice, practice, practice.

Seriously. Fuck that party-boy wallbanger. >.<

At least Honda c.lp > bison

I guess what I’m trying to tell you is that your attitude and mentality needs to change before anyone will even WANT to play you, let alone say anything to you or help you for that matter. Throughout everything that you’ve said in this entire thread, my best suggestion to you would be to quit wasting your time and just quit Street Fighter…you obviously don’t have the right mentality to improve.

You say that all you want to do is win, but when questioned about it you want to act as if “it’s just a game, and I play friendly!” Let me educate you again…you don’t LEARN if all you do is play friendly, something that I’ve tried to teach the NW scene for quite some time. If you con’t learn playing casually, hint hint, there’s no improvement. You get better by constantly pushing yourself, not by holding each other’s hands while playing.

You say that you don’t care who wins when you have 300 credits right? Point of the matter is that if I challenged you for your card, and won, you aint playing no more kid…you still don’t care now? Don’t even try to come in here with this bullshit, you’re either a player, or another kid holding hands who wants to be good at Street Fighter.

Go ahead and let me know who you are in person

butters popcorn:wgrin:

haha seconded / eagerly awaiting responses

Fucking Seattle.

Get back to work Dugg
