So what about those Melty Blood results? I’m also interested in th e character tally.
i wanted to see the brian and the heavy d player in the kof finals
but that didnt happen
they were beasts
Uh, it’d be kind of shitty if it wasn’t. You can just jump out of KKZ if they do it while you’re standing anyway.
Bah, they shouldn’t have added the bosses to 98 UM. All they did was unbalance the most balanced KoF game available.
3S DVD is a must buy this year. Ibuki12 and Aruka’s teams both getting peaced out first round sucks but this year it was all about Chuck Norris taking the title. Good shit to him.
this team is ridiculously strong.
best slayer (now the niga doesn’t seem to play much anymore), best anji, and 2nd best bridget.
if you notice, they beat the nemo / koichi team that beat shounen and ka2 teams.
also, they beat ogawa’s team in their qualifier finals to make it to sbo.
En/Lime Key/Mugen has to be the most amazing thing in this SBO. While they do have 1 S tier (En’s Slayer), Mugen’s Bridget and Lime Key’s Anji really carried the team. Especially that FAB/Nakamura/Shoot OCV which are all not in Anji’s favor, and include one of the most lopsided match-ups in the game (Axl vs. Anji).
Either that, or MOV winning a cast on his hand.
Lol, never thought about teleport out of KKZ, I’m a moron
It should work…
Even with Krauser, the game is still more balanced then regular 98. I’d rather see a top character that wins most of his matches 6-4, then ones that win 8-2. You see a lot more variety in the other slots now, and you can win without Krauser/Iori. It’s not much of a handicap, especially compared to a 98 Iori/Goro/O-Yash team.
Is this you?

I wonder how kuroda would analyze your akuma play.
and here i thought i was scrubby lol
anyone have a link to the GG bracket.
Btw, someone can know the game very well on paper and analyze match, yet suck at actually playing either due to sucky execution or their mind not being trained to apply their knowledge to the situation quickly enough (that’s where experience comes in).
The link was already posted in this thread. I want an MB bracket.
Well … here is some data for those who are interested to see the character trend for the past three years for ST and 3S…
SB06: ST: 64 [2-on-2]
10 Ryu (New + Old)
07 Dhalsim
07 Boxer
05 Guile
05 E. Honda
05 Dictator
04 Dee Jay
04 Chun-Li
03 Ken (New + Old)
03 Fei Long
03 Claw
03 Blanka
02 Zangief
02 Sagat (New + Old)
01 Cammy
SBO6: 3S: 96 [3-on-3]
21 Chun-Li
17 Yun
09 Ken
09 Dudley
08 Yang
07 Makoto
06 Urien
05 Gouki
03 Elena
02 Remy
02 Oro
02 Necro
02 Ibuki
02 Twelve
01 Q
00 Sean
00 Ryu
00 Hugo
00 Alex
SBO5: 3S: 96 [3-on-3]
21 Chun-Li
19 Yun
11 Ken
09 Urien
06 Gouki
05 Makoto
05 Dudley
04 Ibuki
03 Yang
03 Remy
03 Necro
02 Oro
02 Elena
01 Twelve
01 Ryu
01 Alex
00 Sean
00 Q
00 Hugo
SBO4: 3S: 96 [3-on-3]
17 Yun
14 Ken
14 Chun-Li
09 Dudley
07 Urien
06 Gouki
05 Ryu
05 Oro
05 Makoto
04 Yang
03 Hugo
02 Necro
02 Ibuki
01 Remy
01 Elena
01 Alex
00 Twelve
00 Sean
00 Q
And here is the data at a different perspective. Instead of just looking the characters from the individuals, it might be more useful to see how each character progress through the brackets. This means I would add up all the characters from the top 32, 16, 8, 4, 2, and the champions.
For 2-on-2: 2 x (32 + 16 + 8 + 4 + 2 + 1) = 126
For 3-on-3: 3 x (32 + 16 + 8 + 4 + 2 + 1) = 189
SBO6: ST: 126
18 Ryu (New + Old)
16 Boxer
14 Dhalsim
13 Claw
11 Guile
11 Dictator
11 Chun-Li
06 Dee Jay
05 Ken (New + Old)
05 Fei Long
05 E. Honda
04 Blanka
03 Zangief
02 Sagat (New + Old)
02 Cammy
As you can see, even though there were only three Claws, Claw ended up having thirteen points! Then again, ARG is pretty god-like with his ground control. I would also like to note that Old Sagat is soft-banned in Japan and New Sagat is not that great. If Old Sagat were not soft-banned in Japan, it would have a better ranking.
SBO6: 3S: 189
48 Chun
35 Yun
16 Ken
16 Gouki
15 Yang
15 Makoto
12 Dudley
10 Urien
05 Oro
05 Elena
04 Remy
03 Twelve
02 Necro
02 Ibuki
01 Q
00 Sean
00 Ryu
00 Hugo
00 Alex
Thanks to Kuroda, Gouki’s usage is equivalent to Ken’s. Also, if Aruka did not fight Kuroda’s team first, his team might have went further, therefore, raising Ibuki’s rank. Maybe next year.
SBO5: 3S: 189

I do not think Necro and Yang should be ranked so high. The only reason why they are placed at the rank they are is because of RX. I guess this is one of the flaws of this type of perspective but a one-man team is rare.
SBO4: 3S: 189

000 Q!
I am not sure if anyone would take my garbage seriously but there you go. Enjoy.
Poor Q. People avoid him like the plague it seems. The only person I feel more sorry for than a Q player is a 12 player. Props to people like Kuroda, Yamazaki and Pinoab7 for showing that low tiers can throw down, even if briefly.
So much 3S Chun Li lately. In EVO and in SBO. = [
so when is day 3? I’m pretty sure it’s been more then 1 day since the 3s results… unless japan is slow or something.
day 3 was 3 days ago here
Day 3 was awhile ago. results should be somewhere in the thread?
hey but one thing i haven’t seen much comment on (probably because it wasn’t on the live stream) was yamazaki’s amazing twelve. i believe he took out two characters on the first team he faced, and looked like he was about to ocv the next team after the first player lost. the last match came down to the wire but the opposing chun won out. matsuken had to beat this chun, and was playing brilliantly.
it came down to the third round and matsuken hit chun with a low mp, mp dragon punch but missed the followup kara jab DP. still, he managed to trick the chun into blowing a super that missed, after which matsuken just had to pursue and combo for the victory! but he fucked up and for some reason did like s. fierce, missed the cancel and did ex fireball which the chun blocked and she did c.RH and beat matsuken! really sad to see that happen to such a great team. yamazaki played brilliantly the whole time. i’m sure people will talk about this when the dvd comes out.
Actually, Kuitan’s clarice beat Zabeiru’s Saki…Henboku still won afterwards, but yeah, semifinals was clarice vs lilica.
And actually no S tier in top 8.
The tier list goes like this:
S tier - Yoriko
A tier - Catherine, Clarice, Saki, Zenia, Angelia
B tier - Petra, Heart, Fiona, Mei Fang, Maori, Elsa, Konoha, Kamui, Kira, Lilica
C tier - Dorothy, Liese
I love Famitsu and all its glory. Check it out!
