If you WANT a qualifier, go through the appropriate steps to secure one rather than posting in a thread again and again about how the Japanese are holding you, your family and your nation down. SBO is run by businessmen. Businessmen respond to business proposals. Write a proposal, submit it, discuss it. Get the result you want. No whining on SRK necessary!

Last year JeRon may have had a point. At the time we were able to only be… I guess you could say… “competively compatible” with them on two games, 3S and DR. The fact that USA was not even apart of DR qualifiers just made it look worse. That’s fine.
This year look at what we have though. We now have DR qualifiers (and probably 3S once more). No excuses now on that front. In addition we may have AE as a chance to prove ourselves. After all, who won AE at EVO again? Either way JeRon your so called “factual” claim should be done and over now.
Why you people don’t see AE as more of an opportunity rather than something to be disappointed at is beyond me. I guess I’m not good enough at ST to understand, right?
Well, the good news, despite the mixed feelings about HSF2, is it just got emulated. So any US hopefuls can be practicing 100% arcade perfect on their PC’s, if they don’t have access to real arcade.
I highly doubt it. Just cause they’re doing a tournament for it doesnt mean that sbo is gonna be like “well, send over another one too for a game that not a lot of people play!”. Keep in mind its not “released” in the US yet, so there’s no real reason for Japan to give a qualifier, even if its at the same place.
This is not blind conjecture on Chibi’s part.
To my understanding, they are going to make this decision based on two things:
- Is the community here big enough to support sending two players to Japan?
- Are the top players good enough to compete at the level?
You could debate either point. Considering what has happened to foreign players in a few events (like 3S last year or the one year we had a GGXX team), there seems to be a bit of leeway with the second decision. I think the bigger problem is with the first point; I honestly have no idea how many people would show up for a MB qualifier in the US. These events tend to draw under projections since most players are fairly certain who is going to go even before the event starts, so those that enter do so out of support for the community.
The fact that there is a console port that is 99.9% accurate helps quite a bit too. If this was a drastic of an overhaul as GG:AC was from GGXX/, there would be no chance of a US qualifier happening.
Every single Japanese player interviewed that came to Evo had nothing but praise for the level of American play despite our obvious geographical disadvantage. This is every year that they have come, even Daigo, who is humble as fuck, just like our Marvel champ that people like to false hype and say he’s an asshole and “omg he’s gonna beat us in all our games”.

How about they prove themselves in the Last Munite Quals like all the other countries and even the other prefectures of Japan that don’t get regional qualifiers in certain games. You know there was no region quals for 3S last year for Okinawa? Or KoF. Or HnK.
The only way to fix that is to get out of NYC and prove to Japan that you’re better than them. Bring the fight to them. If you’re not willing to do that because they don’t play your game, you seriously need to STFU.

So what are you bitching about? What does Japan have to prove to you? Why should they care? Why should anyone care? 
As much as everyone is hateing on it, again I still say at EVO the most exciting tourny was AE as much as everyone was bitching. It was enjoyable to watch shrug… Most the other tournys were yawn fests. Even with lots of bison it was still much more intresting to watch then basicly everything else shrug…
