Tougeki 2007 Super Battle Opera Games Lineup Announced

this is a troll right

The guy just worships GUNDAM. To not see it in SBO is tearing his heart apart.

No much worse…

His a Gundam SEED fanboy.

E, what the fuck dude…98 boring? XI is cool and all, but 98 is a game thats been univrsally respected, much like Super Turbo to the point where people can pick pretty much any character whooping a certain degree of ass with, in XI its not quite like that at least yet…damn…

fixed

I’m of the minority here that won’t be interested in Super Turbo stuff, but I find the lineup nice, it’s cool that they are able to play around with it like that, and that players are willing to follow them, even if it means a game like Capcom Fighting Jam gets in every once and awhile.

They are playing 98 arcade? they still have alot of those in Japan? Or is ultimate match out by then?

Its gonna be on arcade so I bet it won’t be Ultimate Match, they are using it to promote UM…

They’ve had ST every year for like…ever. Besides…ST is where SF started. You have to have that shit. KOF MI and Gundam have…infinites and broke shit. Last I heard…KOF MI doesn’t have much of a competitive scene. Don’t even know why you brought up that Gundam game. Maybe people in Japan play it but I’ve never heard anyone even mention that game on SRK.

I’m guessing they’re not doing XI because by the time SBO rolls around guess what…KOF 12 comes out and everyone’s gonna wanna play that then. KOF 98 has already been established as one of the greats of the KOF series so bringing it back is like a nostalgic thing. Not to mention it’s one of the few KOF’s that’s not unplayable.

ST has has only been featured at one SBO. But its about time Sf2 got some love, even if it is hsf2.

There’s one thing you can say about SBO’s line up. They really do mix it up each year. Giving new games a chance and the popular ones returning. And then they do a random and throw in some old ones that haven’t been in for a few years.

I think KOF '98 is only in there because of 98 UM which is coming out soon.
I’d like to see what they do with SCIII:A though.

Really? I guess I’m thinking of those XMania tourneys then. I say old school SF needs a place in SBO,

someone explain to me, without killing me with their mean spirited words why people prefer just st to hyper?

i mean, if you like st… just use st characters right?

Game is different. At least in the console version of the game you can’t pick O.Sagat and I’m pretty sure the hitboxes are off on certain things. Certain traps and timing on combos don’t work the same way as they do on arcade ST. Especially when it comes to the older characters. It’s still a decent game in its own right but I think it has way too many things going on with all of the different characters n shit. Not being able to tech throws is just not something I would not be able to get used to. That’s just too old school.

CE Dictator is one of the reasons why.

I remember hearing that arcade Hyper is diffrent from console Hyper. Something about Claw’s wall dives being fixed and other changes/fixes.

ST was only at one SBO,

Hyper SFII is not ST,

Arcade Hyper SFII is drastically different than console due to hitbox/speed/control changes.

And yes USA should get two spots at SBO for AE because we dominated when they came to EVO. It’s not our fucking fault they didn’t send their AE specialists, they knew the stakes and that every game had equal money (and equal comp) and they chose to send 10000000 Yuns for 3s and nobody for AE. If anything, why are we getting two spots in 3s (which we consistently get our asses handed to us in) and not AE (where we have OGs that might stand a chance)?

And no, I’m not saying that because I want a better chance at getting into SBO, because honestly I hate AE and I don’t think I would waste a trip to Japan to play that shitty game anyway.

Um…

Hyper SF2 hasn’t been at Tougeki yet, which is presumably why it made the cut. Give Japan a chance to show their own nation what’s wrong with that game. Evo isn’t the only tournament in existence.

And the major tourney for ST is XMania, which passed already.

And the reason KOF MI regulation A didn’t make it, for the one dude that cared, is because it isn’t out yet. It doesn’t come out till next year, which means players wouldn’t have time to learn the changes between it and MI2 before Tougeki.

And yes, Gundam Vs. series is popular, but it’s not a fighting game, it’s a mech combat game like Virtual On. Doesn’t fit the format at all. Challenger arcade already has tourneys for that game.

Does Japan soft ban CE Bison or something? I never see them use him.
If not, it’s going to be really dull watching everyone get chipped to death by psycho crushers.

how fuckin typical of SBO.

any game where any other country besides their own have a chance of winning, the game is not on the roster.

ex: cvs2 and st. the usa has a fairly good chance of placing high and not getting owned up badly like in 3s last year.

and kofxi. some dude from taiwan got 2nd last sbo.

lets just hope korea will take t5: dr this year. and next year, t5: dr will be taken out of the roster.
