Thank You! hope to see the prototypes soon. =)

the MDF boxes will come PRIMERED only… no painting… you can paint easily after since it’s primered already
-
the hardwood will come unfinished… some guys want to paint them, some guys want to seal them… so i leave it up to you
-
$60 - $80 is a ball park number, depends on how many I have to contract and what the actual material cost is…
-
shipping is whatever canada post charges me + packing material costs

I think for the 6 vs 8 button… I will use the TE layout (if I can find it, if you have a link to a diagram, post it up) and also have them drill two extra holes on the side panel… so:
a. if you want 8 buttons, use two button plugs to close up the side buttons
b. if you want 6 buttons, use the two side buttons and plug up the top two
it’s a good compromise and the 6 button guys get what they want while the 8 button guys get what they want
- also with the TE layout, the curve guys get their way and the straight guys get their way…

I don’t like button plugs, but that’s ok.
I think I’ll have another option of getting my custom CP then. Well thanks for the offer/service.
Very cool. I’m highly interested and in Toronto. I look forward to seeing the prototype.
let me see what i can do… give me a few days
-joe
that sounds awesome. sign me up for one or maybe two. i need to convince the miss’s to play more games.
Why have the 2 extra holes on the side at all? The guys who want 6 button want 6 buttons. No need for the extra 2 no matter where they are on the controller. That just means people have to order 2 extra plugs and your going to have to pay more for the work. Just do 8 on the top and we can close 2 of them.
Alright I see what you can do.
While I’ve already ordered two AIAB sticks, this looks like a very cool project. FWIW I like the AIAB layout of 6 buttons on top with start on the left and back and home on the right. The two trigger buttons aren’t really needed. One improvement might be putting start on the top, since I hammer it a lot to skip pre- and post-fight movies.
Guys, remember $60 to $80 CAD is $46 to $62 USD, which is completely reasonable IMO.
I would like to know if this case can fit Happ buttons well? Or it is specifically designed for Sanwa parts?
I look forward to seeing the prototype. Thanks for the effort Joe.
good stuff joe. keep us posted. i would suggest like winstona is worried that the internal heigh clearance has enough room for happ parts. this is a problem with the current sticks in both se, te and all hori sticks. the only stick to take the american preffered player into consideration was the mas stick.

I’d be interested in a case, especially if you’ll be mimicking the TE layout. Please let me know when you’ll be doing this. I’d pre-order if need be!
the purist seems to want the extra R2/L2 in the side
so i might just go with 8 holes for the first batch
and then do the 6 hole later… not sure
the prototype box is done, thanks to gns for the buttons

This is right up my alley. My ability to build a box is basically nil, but I can solder at least well enough to get the damn thing working.
I’ll be watching this thread closely. I’ll gladly shell out for one of these.
pics!
I am interested as well (one or two units)! I’m in Markham/Scarborough area. Are you still going to keep the initial run 30 units? If you need cash upfront, I’m sure a lot of the Toronto locals would be more than willing to meet up.
Thanks
yes, same question as sketchy, when will you open pre-orders?
i want one too~
Hi, Im interested in a case as well. Im located nearby at Warden and Highway 7 , im in Markham
I’m good with only just the 6 holes ontop with joystick, and the start, select, home buttons ontop with nothing else.
I was just throwing the 2 extra button holes on the right side if your stuck with having to only drilling 8 holes or however it’s contracted out by the batch, I’m not sure.
I would love to get one of these too. I’m near by as well.
