Toronto blank box on sale

Also, I don’t know if the fit is different, but would these also fit HAPP sticks?

i want to get in on first shipment as well. please keep me informed. are u going to show sample pics?

would it cut the cost drastically if we do a big batch order? Eg. pool in all the people interested in the first batch (of course make an initial deposit as well). Regardless, I’ll still be picking one up if possible.

Hmm…Sounds good on paper and I really do wanna jump on this too since I’m in Toronto as well (Yonge & Sheppard). You gotta post some pics though because some of us, myself included are anal about layout and the look, lol. Pics of all 6 sides would be ideal.

PS: Happ lovers can easily buy their buttons in Toronto too. No need to order online, we have our own arcade dealer in case you don’t know. And no, no Sanwa or Seimitsu parts are offered it’s strictly Happ.

the dimension of the box and the layout will be posted once I come up with the prototype.

the art work size is going to be 8 x 10 since that’s pretty much standard sizing

the layout will be TE based… so if you use the left six buttons it will be curved and the six right button will be straight

i am not out to compete against the custom builders, so if you are anal about layout etc, you should contact them to build you one or make your own, I am trying to make it as economical and as fast as I can… any more changes will just delay the order

-joe

will you be only making the first batch for people that live toronto?

Sounds good… I’m pretty happy with the TE layout to begin with.

any way you’ll send to the united states?

Vancouver BC over here - definitely interested in one of these (it’s SF IV mania out here, can’t get a copy of SF IV anywhere, let alone the sticks)

And shipping stuff into Canada is a real pain…good to see some domestic products as options – thanks a lot

I won’t restrict the first batch to toronto… it might take a while for me to get to ship to U.S. since I will drive the boxes down to NY and ship them from there

-joe

That sounds good to me! I’m very interested in a stick with an 8 button layout!

I’m also interested in the box. Too much demand and not enough supply = Canada no options for sticks.

Nothing custom from my end. What you previously stated in the OP; 8 button layout with the start, select, home buttons on the side works for me.

Count me in. I’m also local so I can pick up, no need to ship if that’s what you prefer.

Hey sillypuddy, do you have any updates or pics of the prototype?

going tonight to pickup the final prototype, he mounted the stick and buttons

-joe

sweet cant wait to see how it turned out.

just PM’ed you sillypuddy.

I’m super interested in this.

I like the idea of TE/Viewlix 8 button layout.

Personally my favourite is thePlayer 2 6 button astro city layout. But it’s a bit too curved for 8 buttons. It’s the same layout as on the Agetec stick.

TE is a great compromise I think as you can pull off CapcomJP, CapcomUSA, and SNK styles of play in one design. I never liked the blast city layout anyway.

I’m out in Vancouver by the way.

wow, when will you post the pics for prototype?

I have posted pictures of the box here:

http://www.joystickvault.com/showgallery.php?cat=712

there are a few changes (this is a prototype, which I signed off on today):

  1. the layout of the buttons has changed slightly to follow the TE style layout (Japanese on the left 6, U.S. on the right 6)

  2. the back buttons have been switched from 30mm to 24mm buttons (production issue, the 30mm won’t fit without making the box “thicker”)

  3. the back buttons are centered now, we MIGHT move it to the side closer to the buttons to allow a cable to come out from the middle… not sure yet…

a few things to notice:

  1. there is visible nails or screws…

  2. the box is currently unpainted… we will do some that are primered if you want to paint yours…

  3. I know the back buttons are too big (that’s why there is a notch near the bottom of each button)… don’t tell me, we will fix that by using 24mm buttons

  4. buttons and joystick is not included!!!

there will be a run of 40 boxes for the first batch… 30 of them are available… there is a 7-10 day production time frame… so I will start to get the first few boxes starting early next week

$80 each… pickup is free and I will arrange a group meet up…

shipping is whatever the packing material cost + shipping from Canada post… i will post the dimension and weight information once I get one packed up

PLEASE… post your name and location with the # of boxes, if you want it primered or not … I will arrange to take payment from you… don’t stuff my PM inbox

-joe

Those turned out really nice. I am sure you will go through those first 40 pretty quickly.
