the sad part is that there are so many players who are just outright nasty on sf4 psn. and it’s for no apparent reason a lot of the time. wanna know what the worst part is? the majority of these egotistical players are THE BEST players online.

Why is this limited to online? This is how it is in the real world too, and it applies to any competitive endeavor. That’s just the nature of competition. You have your Jerry Rices, George Foremans, Daigos. And then you have your Terrell Owens, Muhammad Alis, and Marns.

Anybody would have been upset about this let’s say Daigo picked Rose, the people in the Rose forums will be salty too and I understand. People don’t want their characters to be too popular like Ryu. Hola! I dont use guile. Never really liked his playstyle but i will say this, i will definitely use him in super. why you ask, is it because you saw daigo use him? nope its because of the shades. I just wanna do fk fadc shades in a match and i will be happy. then you can have him back lol. but yeah i think it is dumb how a bunch of ppl flocked to the guile forums after that daigo vs justin match. ppl need to find a character that feels right for them for me its Chun. Most of the ppl switching because of Daigo prolly arent very good and will most likely quit guile after a while so no worries.

There are 35 characters in the game. If SF4 only sold 350,000 copies, assume thats roughly 10,000 Guile players. No one here is a beautiful or unique snowflake for using Guile. There are no Low Tier Trophies at tournaments for doing well with a “low tier” character. You just win or lose.

Daigo mains Ryu. He wins. A lot. Who cares who he wins with… he is a legend. Sanford Kelly uses Sagat. You can complain all you want, but it’s not like Sagat is banned. Sanford just wins. A lot.

It doesn’t matter if Guile is the best in the game or the worst, whether no one plays him or everyone plays him. People should play him because its fun to them. Period.

We should be so lucky to see Guile start winning tournaments left and right.

Funny how everyone’s all interested in Guile now, but hello, Daigo owns Justin’s Rufus when he picks Ryu. He tied with him when he picked Guile. How does that make Guile “S-tier” now? His results were worse.

Granted, Guile is buffed and Rufus is a little nerfed, but it’s still speculation at this point. Dagger_G’s Guile definitely seems a lot better, though…I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the top 8 at EVO this year.

but i’m afraid that’s half the problem with srk/online sf4 anyways. egotistical people who are so worried about their “e rep”.

for example, i was just playing this french guy online. he was good and we played to 5-5 ryu v guile and he didn’t ready up for ages, so i just kicked him because i didn’t think he was going to come back.

then i get a flood of messages from this guy “hahahah u loser i am so great” “if i use my main balrog i kill u. i go easy on you by picking ryu” (like picking ryu is a favour to me…it’s worse than balrog). he came back in the room, played me again, beat me 5-3 ryu and one game with ken, did the “im not going to ready up and keep it on the cry/laughing face” routine, then left. so all in all the score was 10-8, which is kinda a moral victory for me in some ways, considering this guy was using ryu and was very good. but i kinda felt a bit sour. i was enjoying the matches, then he decides he wanted to talk shit. kinda puts me off playing sf4 sometimes.

so anyways, i encourage anyone who’s serious about using guile to not be afraid to learn him. just don’t expect it to be easy.
