I was reading the forums trying to determine how to do guiles 4th challenge cancel from flashkick to super and i saw this thread.
Never in all my experience have I accidentally wandered in to such a festering pit of salty gayness
SOMEONES USING MY MAIN!? THIS CANT BE ALLOWED!!1
How many of you are actually cool with playing guile and enjoying it, and how many are on some e-peen/e-honour powertrip about using a hard character out of some percieved respect you imagine it will get you. For what its worth I suck with guile so bad its untrue, but I try to learn all the characters to get a feel for what they can do vs me, but when you read half the stuff in this thread⦠I dont know. Its worse than music, āOh god, someone is actually liking the band I like! They sold out! I liked them when they were āold schoolā.ā
Get over yourselves.
To all the people in the thread actually encouraging new players, congratulations on taking what appears to be a distressingly unpopular course of action. You are all so edgy and cool. I want to be just like you
Mortons and more Mortons - anyone whoās played vanilla Guile KNOWS that all the scrubs coming in to pick up Guile 'cause of Daigo will just fail and move on⦠jesus. Funny how everyone needs to state how long theyāve been playing Guile too - ā no one gives a shit ā
Oh hai! My name is _____ and Iāve been playing Guile since insert ridiculous timeslot here (ex: I was in my motherās womb).
These insert affective namecalling here are worse than me and they donāt deserve to use the character I use because Iām so pru, and yet no one knows me, because I honestly suck at Street Fighter.
Leave these forums now and go back to using insert name of top tier character here so I can have an excuse for losing against you.
Daigo depreciative verb with Guile.
Match vs Justin was total poopoo from a certain bovine and they set it up. Not so intelligent theory about Daigo being able to FADC one of the hardest FADCāable moves in the game 100% of the time and he didnāt once, so it was all fake . Insert idiotic assertiveness about Guileās Ultra I never trading.
NO, and I mean NO move in Street Fighter IV is hard to FADC. If a move can be FADCāed, you just hit 2 buttons when it hits / is blocked.
Doesnāt mean Daigo threw the match though. Tons of people just āforgetā to do stuff. In the heat of the match, Daigoās probably thinking 3 or 4 moves ahead, so he probably lost track of the present.
Dude WTF man Iām not a little girl and Iām certainly not terrible with Guile its not hard holding back for 2secs and hitting the light punch button⦠geez!
skips away with a lollipop singing āThe Good ship lollipopā
Well thereās nothing wrong with new players wanting to try guile no matter the circumstances, who cares what the circumstances are? I just hope we get some good players who are really serious about learning guile.
We donāt need arrogance who do not welcome newcomers wanting to use a character that you guys happen to main.
Honestly though, I think itās more people being curious after seeing daigo winning with him after all the QQing about guile before the game even came out.
Anybody would have been upset about this letās say Daigo picked Rose, the people in the Rose forums will be salty too and I understand. People donāt want their characters to be too popular like Ryu. Itās like the people who liked Ken then when Sf4 came out then they see that everyone and their mother uses Ken they dropped him.
but iām afraid thatās half the problem with srk/online sf4 anyways. egotistical people who are so worried about their āe repā.
for example, i was just playing this french guy online. he was good and we played to 5-5 ryu v guile and he didnāt ready up for ages, so i just kicked him because i didnāt think he was going to come back.
then i get a flood of messages from this guy āhahahah u loser i am so greatā āif i use my main balrog i kill u. i go easy on you by picking ryuā (like picking ryu is a favour to meā¦itās worse than balrog). he came back in the room, played me again, beat me 5-3 ryu and one game with ken, did the āim not going to ready up and keep it on the cry/laughing faceā routine, then left. so all in all the score was 10-8, which is kinda a moral victory for me in some ways, considering this guy was using ryu and was very good. but i kinda felt a bit sour. i was enjoying the matches, then he decides he wanted to talk shit. kinda puts me off playing sf4 sometimes.
the sad part is that there are so many players who are just outright nasty on sf4 psn. and itās for no apparent reason a lot of the time. wanna know what the worst part is? the majority of these egotistical players are THE BEST players online. the top championship mode player (whoās a seth main) doesnāt even respond when you say ācongrats on your winā ect. he pretends he canāt even read english (when i know he can for a fact). itās only when you beat him that he stalks you for a rematch. same type of shit goes for the best viper player on psn in europe (i forget their name). now i donāt expect them to be all buddy buddy with me just because i sent them a message. but i think itās a bit rude when you donāt reply to someone who is giving you props for beating them.
so anyways, i encourage anyone whoās serious about using guile to not be afraid to learn him. just donāt expect it to be easy.
Least easy move to FADC. According to your theory, itās so easy to FADC moves because you only have to press 2 buttons. According to that, itās also easy to do 1 frame links, since you only really have to press 1 button. Why plink, that uses more buttons, right? Few buttons = easy stuff.
Not really, no. Itās the hardest move to FADC due to the amount of frames you have to FADC it properly, and the fact that itās completly dependent on spacing (if you hit the boot at certain distances, you canāt FADC it because youāre airborne). Itās not an easy thing to do. Thereās a reason why you see decent guile players still getting hit after blocked FKs. It happens because they sometimes miss the cancelable frames.
FADC isnāt a one frame link, youāre comparing apples and oranges. 1 frame links give you 1/60 of a second to land itā¦thats tough, FADC doesnāt have such strict timing (not sure what the timing is but my success rate is 100% when wanting to FADC out of FK) but Iām pretty sure across the board FADC doesnāt have strict timings as with most characters its just hit the buttons before the second hit. luz to this thread, this is what weāre going to have to deal with till Daigo makes another appearance with hopefully a different character
Daigo did nothing out of the ordinary with Guile. Everything he did, with the exception of sonic hurricane kick, could be done in vanilla SF4. He missed links, spammed FKs, wakeup FK. What he did well was zone with Guiles normals which is probably very similar to when he mained Guile back in the day.
I donāt reply to any message even the good ones because I feel once I do Iāll have to hear some āWell you only won because of this but you know ggāsā or something in that category.
Plus I could care less to reply to anymore who sends me a message because I play hundreds of players who play like/similar to the person that may of beaten me.
I donāt send messages either. If the players is really good and owns me I send nothing. I just take the loss, learn something from it and keep searching for other players.
but this is just me and Iām sure lots of other ppl do it as well. Its not like we HAVE to reply or send messages to everyone we play against to show āGood sportsmanshipā I usually have nothing nice to say when I lose and they send me a good message so me sending no reply is the best option.
I fired up Vanilla SF4 and there were a LOT of Guiles, lol. The worst part is they all lost to my Bison, which I am pretty sure is Guileās best matchup.
At least Iām exterminating bandwagoners before they actually hit SSF4.
This is actually extremely funny. If I were to jump the wagon at this point, it would have to be in Super, because trying to suffer through Vanilla Guile, is not worth the 3 day wait for the game. lol.
shoot donāt let that get to you tho. There are plenty of other things in life thatās far more stressful then some guy at home on a game talking smack because of whatever reason or some guy who didnāt reply when you showed good sportsmanship.
