You can just jab Dhalsim out of his teleport, it never fails. You can also jump back and press hk and you’ll still hit him or at worst trade with the fireball(big time in Sagat’s favour).
Other times you just have to block the mix-up, remember you’re blocking Dhalsim, not his fireball.
Good ibuki’s won’t jump until they’ve got you on the deck. So I mostly throw low slow/mid TS from mid to far with the usual jab baits. She can’t get past the low TS unless she focus dashes or has EX meter to slide through, at which point you punish that slide hard on block. Getting her to burn her meter on this is a good idea as her only threatening reversal is her EX DP.
St.mk is Godlike in stuffing her outside of close range, it’ll beat the slide and pretty much every poke. Also ibuki LOVES to back dash, read the ibuki and either cr. fierce or Kara DP that shit, she WILL try to run away if you pressure. Also obviously learn to block the vortex, honestly once you can block the vortex it’s really hard for her. This vid will help…
Not sure but I know he can meaty the teleport and its safe from Sagats DP. It’s prolly like -5 or 6. You can Ultra 2 the teleport but when I do this I’m never sure if I reacted or it if it was a good read…I buffer a lot…
well SK loses to Tiger uppercut pretty easy, probably other stuff you can do to that special as well but TU is a pretty good option.
I was kinda surprised to see that you guys think this m u is 6-4 for Sagat ( At least OP post said that…) I see it as pretty even, nothing special that Sagat can do against Bison.
Sagat can do PLENTY special against Bison. Now that Bison’s ultra 2 is a charge it’s 6-4 Sagat.
Sagat can abuse Bison on Bison’s wake up any time, any situation. Meaty cr.lk can blow up Bison so badly, if he ex s.crushers then Kara DP him, very easy to do. Bison has a high floaty jump, very easy to Anti-Air compared to the rest of the Cast. St.mk beats all SK’s.
Sometimes you have to accept that you’ll need to block in the corner, minimal chip damage is whatever. Whatever you do though, don’t try to jump out, good Bison players will try to bait you with ex head stomp which does godly damage. Also f.hk either beats all devils reversals/headstomps or goes right under them…win win for sagat
Yeah it was the qcf qcf for Ultra 2 that really made things harder for Gat. With that as charge all Gat has to do now is pay attention and Dic has to work for damage and his wake-up still gets rocked.
I need help on DeeJay matchup, I can’t handle the lk.sobats on block, the only thing I try to do is uppercut them on reaction. Tried in training mode and I can uppercut on reaction, but I can’t online. Also need some help vs Ibuki, I saw some of the posts above and they help, but once I’m knocked down I have no fucking clue. I genuinely cannot block the vortex. Whatever I try I get fucked over. They’re the two matchups I’m working on atm. Ibuki and Deejay, any solid advice? With DeeJay I’ve been trying to bait jumpings, but they ain’t coming and he’ll just go back and forth with his fireballs, and I often get hit by random EX sobats, even when trying to bait them. Been getting really salty today haha, I don’t know what to do. Any advice?
Vs deejay online unless its green bars dont even worry about it. Just play and have fun. The match is pretty fucked online in general though cuz u cant react to deejays stuff and he can play random.
Take a risk and try to be smart about when you take it. You do have buttons that can stuff st.rh. It’s just timing dependent but cr.mp buffered into a shot works the best.
You have to be willing to block and take the chip. That’s much better than getting hit with a st.rh or getting hit with an EX Headstomp, etc. Patience is a virtue in the Bison matchup if he has you cornered.
I find EX knee in the corner against Bison is my tool if I feel like I can’t get out. It will usually trade with scissors but it will send him across to the other side of the screen and give you some space to work in. Worst case scenario he blocks and you’ve at least put him to a decision on the throw/TU (or neutral jump can sometimes work, if he scissors or PS , he’s now in the corner)
Not ideal but it is an option. The problem is if you get stuck in there without meter, it’s advantage Bison.
What do you guys do against Ken I’m curious to know as I have a harder time fighting him than Ryu. Also when they mash hard on step kick how does one counter it besides st forward ?
Don’t forget you have options outside high step kick after tu trade. If it’s whiffing then just do a tk to get some good spacing again. I actually change my follow up based on the matchup and situation but in general i favor positioning over damage. Example: Vs Viper follow up with f.hk and pressure because she doesn’t really struggle to get in. Vs GIef or Ryu I might follow up with ex ts or lk tk to maximize the distance between us because you can work to make them get in. It all depends on the character and situation but never go on autopilot after a trade tu.
