Tiers for non-fighting games?

Plasma Cutter is the first gun you get right? I remember it being pretty tough and I think theres also an achievement for finishing the entire game only using it. Which wouldn’t be that hard because I barely used any other guns other than the assault rifle on the little baby monsters.

Are you talking about multiplayer or through the story?

Demon’s Souls class tiers?

No way, Ballistic is so top tier!

Someone should do a MechWarrior 2 (PC) tier list

I decided to make a tier list for the squad members in Mass Effect as it pertains to my class(Vanguard). I’m organizing them from best to worst.

1. Garrus Vakarian
Every weakness a Vanguard has is covered by Garrus. Garrus does outrageous damage and does reasonably well at disabling opponents. In addition, he has access to Decryption, Electronics, and First Aid, three amazing passive talents that aren’t available to a Vanguard(bonus talents aside). My Vanguard Shepard is at her best when teamed with Garrus and…

2. Kaidan Alenko
What Garrus provides in offensive abilities, Kaidan provides in defense. He lacks damage output, but his crowd-control is solid, and his debuffs are essential to a Vanguard’s survival. In addition, Medicine allows the party to heal more regularly, and because he has Electronics maxed out along with Garrus, the Mako repairs to full health in seconds.

3. Tali’Zorah nar Rayya
Tali is probably better at disabling mechanical opponents than Engineer Shepard is. She’s accurate, quick, and more importantly, she knows how to use fucking shotguns, giving her some serious firepower. In tight corridors against multiple opponents who can be neither lifted nor thrown, Tali is indispensable, but she’s only half of the alternate Vanguard party. The other is…

4. Urdnot Wrex
Wrex’s damage output is higher than that of Garrus. However, he’s little more than just a straight-up bruiser. The reason he’s not as good as Garrus(or Kaidan, or Tali) is because damage is all that Wrex can do. While he has access to biotics, he’s not very good at using them unless directed to do so by Shepard, which is a pain in the ass. He’s at his best when he’s filling the role of a brick wall with legs and a shotgun.

5. Ashley Williams
Her damage output is good. Wrex’s is better. Other than that, there’s nothing separating the two. Next.

6. Liara T’Soni
I love Liara to death, but a Vanguard can do everything she can, and do it better. This is especially true if you’re like every other Vanguard player in the universe and took Singularity as your bonus talent. Liara also has no damage output whatsoever, thus making her a pure crowd-control character. You could make her work if you love her that much(and I do), but when you have Garrus and Kaidan, why bother?

“Who Cares” Tier
Everybody else

Dynasty Warriors: Gundam (imo) (Gundams only)

Top: Musha, Wing Zero, Qubeley (all variations), ZZ, Burning, Turn A

Mid: Gundam Mk-II (all variations), Zeta, The O, Gundam, Char’s Gelgoog

Bottom: Master, Char’s Zaku II, Hyakushiki

Ass: Epyon

Adding characters w/suits is weird. Placing chars. by themselves doesn’t make sense. Musha Gundam is Jesus in Samurai Mecha form.

metal slug 6 tiers?
I would actually say Marco is top. pistol is double strength or whatever, fucking ammo is so limited the pistol is the best bet most of the time.

@Concerning Mass Effect:

My biggest problem with Garrus is that he dies, a lot. Not having Fitness/Immunity hurts his survivability.

Wrex would’ve been better with Lift instead of Stasis; he’s only got Throw for crowd control essentially. Though, I thought Garrus outdamages him, at least with Assault Rifles?

And Liara’s got Overload and Warp. Certainly that has to count for something damage-wise.

I thought Ralf was top because he can take more than one hit without dying.

He has Shield Boost, as I recall, and he tends to perform at his best at middling range while most frontlining enemies are taken down by Shepard.

Wrex’s damage is a bit more consistent.

Not as much as you’d think.

Re: Metal Slug 6

  1. Fio
  2. Ralf
  3. Marco
  4. Tarma
  5. Eri
  6. Clark

You’re welcome.

Shield Boost really doesn’t count for much because shields fall quickly in the higher difficulties, mainly because DR from armor does not apply to shields. I tend to switch ranges a lot (I’ve played Infiltrator and Adept), which probably leads to Garrus taking more hits than he should. If you take him as a Vanguard, you’ll probably run into less of a problem there, as Vanguards have no reason to be at range.

Early on with Shotguns, yeah, but considering Assault Rifles outdamage shotguns later on and Garrus having AR + Assault Training + Turian Agent, I think Garrus wins in the damage.

Then again, Wrex can just melee things to death.

You’re right. No weapon skill at all = no damage.

Bingo.
I mean, Liara is still good, just not for a Vanguard. Kaidan is more than sufficient for biotic overkill, and he also has tech disabling attacks to keep enemies at bay while Garrus and Shepard pound them to death.

So I found out that Liara’s A.I. is much better than Kaidan’s, making her a more viable choice. So the new Vanguard tier list goes like this.

  1. Garrus
  2. Liara
  3. Tali
  4. Wrex
  5. Ashley
  6. Kaidan

Basically, if you manage to knock someone down, Liara will cast Singularity, Lift, or Stasis the moment the opponent hits the floor. This makes her a perfect companion for an offensive class such as Soldier or Vanguard, and a great counterpart to Infiltrators and Engineers as well. Only Sentinels and Adepts don’t have much to gain from Liara’s presence, but that’s just because an Adept would be a damn fool not to roll with Tali and Ashley/Garrus/Wrex, and if a Sentinel isn’t accompanied by both Garrus and Wrex, he’s either an idiot or a genius.

Liara’s #1 for Infiltrators as far as I’m concerned. Singularity is ridiculous (minor correction: Her AI doesn’t use Stasis), and her lack of damage doesn’t matter because Infiltrators (at least Commando ones) are second only to Soldiers in weapon damage (overall damage is possibly higher, since they have Overload and can use Omni-Tools).

I notice Kaidan likes using techs more than biotics, but that might just be my imagination.

Kaidan is really environment-dependent. He uses biotics at the right times in theory, but if you’re going up against a bunch of turrets and he uses Throw, what good is he doing?

I blame his migraines.

For Infiltrators, I’d put the squad members as follows:

  1. Liara, for reasons explained above.

  2. Wrex. Decent crowd control, plus Warp. The best option if you want a heavy hitter.

  3. Kaidan. He brings the biotics, but he’s split between tech and biotics (AI, as explained earlier by Lobelia, is iffy), and doesn’t have Singularity nor damage.

  4. Ashley. Not bad, but she doesn’t really cover any of your weaknesses. Definitely worth considering if you go the Operative route, since your weapon damage and overall durability will be lower than that of a Commando.

  5. Garrus. He hits hard, but there is considerable overlap between what he can do and what you can do. Frailty is a problem, too. Good thing he has Assault Rifles (which you don’t have training in) and Assault Training (which you don’t have, and can’t get), giving him damage and tech spammability.

  6. Tali. Tali’s problem is that besides AI Hacking (which should be an Infiltrator’s bonus talent), she really brings nothing you need. She’s too frail, and Garrus is just as good at tech spam plus he hits harder.

RE Mass Effect: Does AI matter if you hold the party’s hands for basically every command and play slow? Anybody think there’s a point in trying to tier Shepard’s classes?

Honestly, no. Every class is extremely strong in one particular facet and has a tiny bit of trouble in another.
