Tiers for non-fighting games?

Any tiers for Valkyria Chronicles? I’d say late game Alicia is top/god tier if orders are involved (which isn’t the case with the DLC EX Hard difficulty), and I hear any shocktrooper with the Selveria DLC weapon is pretty beastly too.

Skies of Arcadia Legends

Top Tier (aka Teen Titans Tier)

  • Vyse- He always has the tools to be the primary damage dealer in the game, including Pirate’s Wrath, the strongest attack in the game. His stats are all high, except for his magic related stats, which isn’t too bad since attack magic takes it in the brown eye towards the end of the game. His Skull Shield and Aika’s Delta Shield can make the party nearly invincible whenever that combo is performed, but he’ll be doing damage most the time, especially in boss battles. His high focus is as retarded as giving Ryu the best healing magic in BoF3, since Vyse should be attacking during character battles, though this is more useful in ship battles

  • Fina- She has Lunar Light, probably the best healing move ever in RPG history. Her magic stats are high, but attack magic loses usefulness near the end as more Moonberries are acquired to unlock special moves. Her physical stats are terrible, but her defense is countered to some degree by her very high evasion rate. She takes the least from magic though and learns new spells quickly

  • Aika- She is the random encounter queen. Her attack all moves are very low cost and do lots of damage, being able to do at least half health and nearly 1-shot most enemies in the game. She is useless for damage against bosses, but she’s fast and can evade attacks almost as well as Fina, so she’s a good item spammer and secondary support behind Fina. Delta Shield is a huge help since many endgame enemies have punishing magic attacks. It sucks that she focuses for so little SP because she’d be more helpful in boss battles and ship battles

Mid Tier

  • Drachma- Highest physical stats in the game, but the lowest magic stats and he’s got the lowest evasion to compliment his piss poor speed. He can help Vyse with damage against bosses and his low magic defense doesn’t matter because he can take hits due to his high HP and Spirit Charge allows more frequent uses of Pirate’s Wrath and Lunar Light

  • Enrique- Stat wise, he’s Vyse-lite apart from high negligibly higher magic stats and decently high speed. Except for Justice Shield, his moves are weakened versions of Vyse’s moves, so he can help with damage during boss fights, but Justice Shield is too useful to ignore because its works almost as well as the Skull Shield/Delta Shield combo, but only requires him to do. The most crippling thing is that he focuses for the least amount of SP and his HP and evasion are mediocre, so he tends to die a lot more than everyone else. He is absolute ass in ship battles because he focuses for so little SP

Low Tier

  • Gilder- He sucks. His magic related stats are barely better than Drachma’s, he’s slow, Vyse has better moves and physical stats, bad evasion, attack all moves that are twice the SP cost of Aika’s, no powerful single attack moves. He’d be completely unusable if it weren’t for Aura of Denial blocking instant kill attacks, which is only really useful against a couple of the end game bosses. To make matters worse, his Spirit is barely better than Aika and Enrique’s, so he isn’t even that useful in ship battles

Enrique and Drachma are both viable 4th members for the end of the game. As long as you don’t use Gilder, you should be fine

Coolness for Skies of Arcadia

Top Tier

Vyse - Dude gets all the ladies
Gilder - "Come on, Dance for Me"
Aika - Black panties, nuff said

Mid Tier

Fina - Cupil was the shit
Drachma - Didnt really like him that much, but this guy was there everytime you needed him

Low Tier

Enrique - “Take this you cur!” and an overall BITCH

Anyone played that mini game you could play for this on your memory card on the DC? I used to get mad items and even play this at church sometimes

Move Drachma to low tier and this would be on point. I love how Drachma’s life goal was to hunt down a whale that beat him up after he attacked the whale. That thing was well within its right to attack him.

Forgot the M92F.

IMO Longbow is mid-tier at best. Limited range plus lack of laser sight makes it a very difficult weapon to use effectively, especially on professional difficulty.

I’d also move the S75 down to mid. It has more firepower then the other sniper rifles, but if you’re going for firepower then stick to the magnums. Sniper rifles are long ranged weapons and it can’t really compete with its limited scope, slow firing rate and lack of semi-auto capabilities.

If you ask me, all machine guns should be low tier at best.

God: Rocket launcher
High: Hydra, M500, M29, Lightning Hawk, PSG-1
Mid: M3, Dragunov SVD, Longbow, Gatling Gun, M93R, P226, s75
low: Jailbreaker, AK74, MP5, SIG 556,
bottom: Ithaca m37, VZ61, M92F

I’m not sure how different the GC and DC versions of Skies of Arcadia are, but I will say at least for the DC versions…

Fina’s constantly in danger of getting one-shotted on the last fourth or so of the game because all her defensive stats (except evasion) are horrible. That’s the problem with Lunar Light – She’s always the one in danger of dying so its effectiveness isn’t as great as it could be.

Aika’s spirit is second only to Vyse’s. Delta Shield is the best defensive technique in the game because of its low SP cost, how many enemies pack Eterni spells, and the fact you never should be using spells to heal except perhaps in ship battles. She’s also got plenty of speed so she typically will act before bosses (Fina doesn’t always do so). She has low HP, but it’s considerably more than Fina’s. Aika > Fina, as far as I’m concerned.

Enrique’s Royal Blade does more damage than Vyse’s Cutlass Fury.

Gilder’s Gunslinger attack actually does good damage, if a bit overcosted. The Claudia does suck terribly, though.

S75 may have a limited scope range, but in the hands of a skilled sniper it can still be used with deadly efficiency. Its higher damage also makes it the only rifle capable of always one-shotting with a body shot, even on Pro.

The Longbow’s lack of a lasersight is not a problem with some practice, though I will concede that with everything having infinite ammo it becomes somewhat less useful. It still is useful at short to mid range and packs quite a punch, though with infinite ammo turned on the magnums are better.

Jail Breaker certainly doesn’t deserve low tier as its wide spread makes it a highly effective crowd control weapon, a nice alternative if you don’t have infinite on Hydra yet.

Gatling Gun is a highly inaccurate pile of shit. Takes up a lot of screen space too, and possibly makes Chris run slower (can’t tell for sure on that).

IMO machine guns get slightly better with infinite ammo as their biggest problem is uncontrollable ammo consumption. AK-74 and 556 are both good against crowds of regular Majini. Yes Hydra is better, but that’s why it’s in top and machine guns are mid at best.

What makes you think M92F is deserving of bottom? I think it’s high headpop rate qualifies it for low.

I want Mass Effect class tiers.
Go.

I’m going to tier the game on normal difficulty with the assumption that the player doesn’t have any achievement unlocks and then hard mode with achievement unlocks in mind. I won’t bother with the specialist classes since they’re all viable and that I don’t feel like doing every specialist class with both base classes.

Normal Mode Tiers
Top Tier

  • Vanguard- High burst damage with the Shotgun, a great class skill, and all the useful biotic skills makes the Vanguard the best class for quickly clearing normal mode. Of course the lack of tech skills makes the player dependent on the crew for opening crap. Shotguns are overpowered in ME because most battles take place in tight, indoor corridors and Shotguns are overly accurate at medium range. The only annoying thing about this class is that one might have to solo encounters sometimes because the crew AI can be rather idiotic at times and this class is all about rushing the enemy down.

  • Soldier- What makes this class so appealing is that it has a ton of freebie skill points. The player only needs to focus on one gun type (I would suggest Shotguns or Assault Rifles), so it shouldn’t take long to max out one’s social skill of choice, Specter Training, and the class skills. The free points allow it to dominate the early stages of the game because the player will unlock upgraded versions of skills much more quickly than other classes will. The player will depend on the crew for support and unlocking stuff though

Mid Tier

  • Engineer- Engineers have very little crowd control, but its a versatile class because its skillset gives it options when fighting organic enemies and it destroys mechanical enemies for free. Except for the fact that Pistols don’t do massive amounts of damage (which is key in normal mode), it has so many good skills that the player is forced to either delay getting extra skills like Specter Training or take longer to get its normal combat skills. Too much a good is a bad thing in this case.

  • Adept- The Adept can help with big groups of mobs with Singularity and it laughs at Asari if you invest in the class skill. It can fight moderately well due to having the Pistol skill and Barrier, but it still doesn’t do enough damage and lacks good anti-Geth tools on top of having low shields due to not having Electronics

  • Sentinel- This class makes for a durable Shepard, but it just doesn’t do anything useful for normal mode. control is nice to have, but not necessary. All this class provides is CC and healing. The lack of a gun skill makes Shepard depend too much on the crew to kill things and you are the cooldown timer’s bitch because Sentinels are useless while their skills are cooling down.

Low Tier

  • Infiltrator- This class is horrible. Shepard aims the Sniper Rifle like he’s drunk and its class skill doesn’t really help at all because it can’t really spam tech moves like the Engineer or Sentinel and the heat reduction is useless because Sniper Rifles still overheat too quickly (and aren’t worth using) and Pistols only overheat if you hold the button for too long

What’s funny is that after playing as almost every class in the game(I never touched Engineer), my favorite class is the Vanguard with Assault Rifles as a talent rather than Shotguns.

Hard Mode
**
Note: First of all, you absolutely MUST have the Electronics skill. I don’t care how awesome you think a skill is, you may as well start over if Shepard doesn’t have Electronics, because hard mode is damn near unbeatable without it.
**
Top Tier

  • Sentinel- Sentinels shine in hard mode. Crowd control is an absolute blessing, and the Sentinel is the master of CC. Having access to a gun skill makes this class a lot better damage wise. This is probably the best hard mode class because it can literally do just about anything. Give it Singularity for unrivaled CC or the Pistols skill to make cooldowns no longer an issue. The bonuses for using Garrus and Kaidan allows for even mroe spam of their best CC skills

  • Engineer- Engineers are great in hard mode, but Sentinels are still better. Hacking isn’t the most useful skill because Geth tend to break out of it quicker until you just about max it out. If Engineers weren’t outclassed CC-wise by the Sentinel, then Engineers would be better in hard mode. The best skill to take is Singularity so that you can spam grenades, although Barrier is also a good choice for longer battles

  • Adept- This class is powerful in hard mode, but the lack of good anti-Geth tools still hurts it since Geth and other mechanicals are the most durable foes in the game. The fact that they kill humanoids for free is a huge bonus since humanoid Biotic users love Throw and Lift spam before shooting the crap out of your characters. This is the most durable class in hard mode for that reason

Mid Tier

  • Vanguard- This class is still good, but what hurts it is that enemies have more shields and will use tech and biotic powers more often. Going close range is a must with the Vanguard, but if the enemy uses Sabotage or any non-Warp biotic move on you, then you have to retreat or else it’ll be a nearly guaranteed game over. Vanguards are forced to do battles of attrition in hard mode, which won’t do your health packs and grenades any favors

Low Tier

  • Soldiers- They are still useful for damage and have better survivability if the player is smart enough to take Electronics. The freebie points are still nice, but the lack of CC makes the Soldier too dependent on one’s crew to lock down foes, and the crew’s idiocy is dangerous in hard mode

Crap Tier

  • Infiltrator- Yes, this class sucks even more now. Some problems that are stated above, but the Sniper Rifle is even more anti-useful now since many enemies have high shields or the Barrier skill, so the Sniper Rifle will often overheat after killing one humanoid or mechanical

The Assault Rifle has accuracy issues, though it wrecks shop once you get high end upgrade chips and improve your skill. The weapon skills in Mass Effect go

Normal Mode
Shotguns > Assault Rifles >> Pistols >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Sniper Rifle

Hard Mode
Assault Rifles > Shotguns = Pistols >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Sniper Rifle

Hm. If I absolutely, positively must have Electronics, then I might play as a Sentinel Bastion on my Hardcore playthrough. Right now I’m playing through Veteran as a Vanguard with Assault Rifles and am encountering the problems of which you speak even though the only combat I’ve done is Eden Prime.

Don’t remember if X-Men Legends (1) tiers were done yet or not, but nonetheless I’ll give it a shot:

Top–
Storm
Iceman

Near Top–
Jean Grey
Wolverine

Upper-Mid–
Cyclops
Colossus
Nightcrawler

Mid–
Rogue
Magma
Psylocke
Gambit
Beast

Low–
Emma Frost
Jubilee

Wasn’t Jean Grey’s AOE glitched and insanely useful as a result, making her Top rather than just Near-Top?

The only reason Jean Grey isn’t God tier is because of the Sentinels. Plus the fact that most of the last levels are full of Mental Resistant enemies.

If it wasn’t for that, she’d be far and away the best character in the game. Hell, I’d say you could argue even WITH the proliferation of Sentinels she’s still top tier, as she makes leveling up in the Danger Room way too easy.

For the reason above, part of me thinks Psylocke should drop below Gambit. She joins really late at a time where more than half the enemies are mental resistant.

And I assume Emma’s down at the bottom because of a glitch that doesn’t let her get the sixth rank in her +Melee damage.

I also don’t remember what makes Rogue useful. I think I’m still stuck in XML2 mode.

Contra Re:Birth Tiers

Characters

Goddess Tier
Tsugu-Min

Normal Contra Nigga Tier
Bill
Lance/Yagyu

I have a Fucked Up Sprite Tier
Plissken

The reason that Tsugu-Min is Goddess Tier is because her sprite can’t be hit from the neck down. And that alone sets her above the rest of the cast. And the reverse can be said about Plissken. He’s a little taller than Bill/Lance so shit they can kinda dodge shit that hits Plissken more often.

Weapons

High
Spread Gun

Mid
Homing Missiles
Normal Gun

Low
Laser

You will always want the Spread Gun throughout the game. That weapon will destroy damn near everything with ease and makes some Boss/Mini-Boss encounters cake. The reason that the Homing Missiles aren’t in the High Tier is because in some situations it can’t properly take care of threats like you think it would. Go fuck with the Mini-Boss of Stage 3 and you’ll see what I’m talking about. And the Laser being the bottom tier is because it only has 1 really good use and even then the Spread Gun deals with that just as good if not better.

I wanna state I’ve not yet played Nightmare Difficulty so tiers may change from that experience. But if changes need to be made, I’ll make them.

Man, Cyclops really got buffed for Marvel: Ultimate Alliance if Return of Shiki’s tier list is true.

‘Really got buffed’ would be an understatement; he’s bottom tier in XML2.
