Tiers for non-fighting games?

After some playing time you were on point, Linde is pretty solid. You were right about her magic base though, it’s pretty bad (I switched her to a cleric and it was 0 ) but it grew in time. The first time I played I just took her Aura book and let her die (I gave it to Lena because I AA her magic level to A), but I don’t think I’ll be letting that happen again.

since this is pretty much rpg tiers

anyone wanna throw out pen and paper tiers for icewind dale II

maybe even team combos?

Super Mario World

God:

Star Mario/Luigi

Top:

Cape Feather Mario/Luigi
Blue Yoshi Mario/Luigi

High:

Fire Flower Mario/Luigi
Red Yoshi Mario/Luigi
Yellow Yoshi Mario/Luigi

Mid:

Green Yoshi Mario/Luigi

Low:

Mario/Luigi

Yellow Yoshis sucked. Sandstomp was terrible.

I liked Yellow Yoshi (and sometimes even Green Yoshi) more than Red Yoshi on any stage with a blue shell, since Red Yoshi can’t recycle shells.

I would love to see a tier list for the squad members in Mass Effect.

Yeah so I considered this for a while, but I still have to say that yellow Yoshis sucked balls. You have to go out of your way to get any colored Yoshi anyway, so why would you pick the yellow one? I would go so far as to say that even green is better simply for being more plentiful. You just keep playing the levels, you get green Yoshis. You want other Yoshis, you have to go back to Star World, and really, why would you pick the yellow one? Go get blue. Or red if you just want some fireball mayhem. But yellow? Hell no, sandstomp was a POS skill.

I did one earlier in the thread, but I’ll repost it (assuming 360 version)

Obviously, you should choose your squad based on Sheperd’s class

Top Tier

  • Wrex- He’s the best tank due to having heavy armor and Barrier on top of being tough due to being Krogan. He even has Warp and Throw to help with controlling mobs

  • Tali- She rapes humanoids and mechanical enemies for free since she has access to all the tech skills. Even if fighting other types of enemies, she can take a beating due to having the highest shield rating in the game

  • Liara- Kind of useless with guns, but having access to all the Biotic skills makes her an excellent keep-away character. She does very little damage on own, but she can take a bit of a beating with Barrier while supporting the party and hindering foes

Mid Tier

  • Garrus- He sucks in the early game due to having crappy weapons on top of his piss poor defense. Its also annoying that you have to invest in First Aid to unlock Electronics, when Sheperd or Kaiden should run First Aid duty. He does do the most damage once you train him in Sniper Rifles, often getting 1-shot kills

Low Tier

  • Kaiden- He’s the best support character and has some offensive biotics to boot. Its a shame that Sentinel is the best class on subsequent playthroughs due to being able to give a free skill at the start of the game, making him outclassed by Sheperd

  • Ashley- No utility and Wrex and Tali having better defenses with Garrus having better damage makes Ashley useless.

Pokemon Puzzle League tier-list!

#S-tier:
Erika – Tangela is a fucking badass. Pull off chains with this bitch and your opponent will go apeshit. Other than that, Erika’s voice will make lolicons splooge. Definitely a great trainer, Tangela + Gloom. Fuck Weepinbell.
Misty – That damn Staryu will yell, “shit yeah!” every time you get a sizable chain. Definitely a manliness factor. Also, Horsea will do a damn good job at irritating your opponent. Too bad Psyduck blows.

#A-tier:
Ash – classic annoying little asshole. Pikachu, Skeetle, and Bulbasaur will do a good job annoying your opponent. Mostly, the thought of being beaten by Ash will do a good job making your opponent drop chains.
Gary – same reason as with Ash. Just too fukken good at being annoying.

#B-tier:
Tracy – Merril, Venonat, Scyther. All of his pokemans are pretty annoying. However, they’re not too damn annoying, putting him in B-tier.
Koga – “Try harder, young womp!” Just pull of a 4+ combo after your opponent drops a chain, and you will get them out of the groove for a good ten seconds, giving you ample time to rape their score.
L.T. Surge – Magneton and Jolteon are the best pokemon here. Magneton asserts his name repeatedly, while Jolteon will shout, “JEW! JEW!” That fat rat Raichu brings down the team, though.

#C-tier:
Giovanni/Bruno – these guys pretty much play the same, with Nidoking and Onyx having similar sounds. Big shitters. Other than that, they don’t have outstanding pokemon, except for Giovanni’s Persian.
Blane – “When you’re hot, you’re hot!” Pretty much only good for making your opponent laugh.
Lorelei – the Zappa of this game. You can be really annoying if you try, but otherwise, not too annoying. Not that great.

#D-tier:
Brock – having a furry pokemon, this is one of the most faggot trainers in the game. Pick that Vulpix, go ahead. Yiff in hell, furry.
Sabrina – another shit trainer. Alakazam sounds like he’s shooting his load all over Sabrina’s face when he gets in the +8x chains. That’s about it.
Richard C. Mongler – another shit trainer. That metrosexual Pikachu isn’t going to bring anything back. That Charmander isn’t that good at irritation. The Butterfree can’t do shit.

#Roll-tier:
Team Rocket – so shitty. Only good pokeman is Arbok. Better trainers out there.

I don’t know anything about that game, but your tiering reasons sound more like who you like/dislike based on character design and personality, not what skills they have in the game.

There is no way in fuck that Ashley is the worst support in the game. I’d give that to Captain Kaidan McShithead before Ashley.
Either way, I can see Tali and Liara being top tier. I’m a Vanguard, though, so I need a good tank to help me. My current team is Shepard/Tali/Ashley. I haven’t gotten Liara yet.

Kaiden isn’t very useful, but he’s better than Ashley. Kaiden makes the best healer if Sheperd isn’t a support class and Kaidan has some useful moves. I don’t know about the PC version, but on the 360 version, the player can give Sheperd a free skill at char gen by obtaining the corresponding achievement. Ashley’s only use is damage and tanking, both roles that are done better by other teammates. At least Kaiden has a use. On second thought, I’ll agree with you that Kaiden doesn’t deserve to share the mid tier, I’ll edit my tier list. I still maintain that Kaiden is better than Ashley though

Kaidan is definitely useful during initial playthroughs, but due to being able to give Sheperd a free skill, Kaiden is outclassed since the Sentinel is the best class in the game once you unlocked a weapon achievement.

I’m thinking of just going with Tali and Liara. I have no interest in Wrex.

D2LOD PVM

  1. Hammerdin
  2. Lightning Sorc?
  3. Rest

you forgot
trap sin
ww druid
ele druid

lightning sorc is no way #2

id put a good WW barb or MA sin before lightning sorc.

shit, a good ww barb could easy have 6k+ life.

Bonewall spamming necros weren’t too shabby. And they were a lot of fun to mess with in PVP

shit son, MA sin ain’t doing shit pve compared to a good lightning sorc, and a WW barb might have 6k life but you still ain’t gonna come close to the killing speed of a decked out lightning sorc

Also why are you guys sleeping on the Javazon? Definitely in the top few PVE builds, they can kill bosses faster than any other character.

edit:
Forgot, Zealer. With one point into smite, they can do anything in the game including ubers if they have good enough gear.

The problem with healing is that it maxes at 180 HP per use. My level 50 Soldier has nearly 700 HP. I found Kaiden to be useless as I had Garrus and Wrex with me most of the game - the only tech skills I cared about were decryption and electronics for opening shit. Also, I don’t see how Wrex does more damage than Ashley considering she has Assault Training and he doesn’t.

IMO the tier list changes greatly depending on which class you are - the one with the same class as you being the least useful.

My character is a Vanguard. Could you rank the squad members in order of how good they are to a Vanguard?

It depends on your skill allocation, bonus talents, and difficulty setting. I prefer a combat oriented team, so I’d go something like:

TOP:
Wrex: good tank, give him a shotgun so he’ll get in close and attract enemy fire - as a vanguard your defense won’t be so hot, unless you’re also a Shock Trooper. His throw and warp are helpful as well.
Garrus: max his assault rifle or sniper and he can sit back and unload. The AI has good aim. Also his Overload is really helpful at higher difficulty.

MID:
Ashley: high damage and defense but lacks the supporting skills. Good early in the game before you’ve developed serious biotics.
Tali: all the tech skills but little damage potential. Garrus has most of her useful techs anyway. Good defense if you max her electronics.

LOW:
Liara: has singularity, but you’ll have everything else worthwhile plus she tends to die a lot on higher difficulty.
Kaiden: No combat skill and a bunch of other useless crap like first aid. Between you and Garrus you’ll have everything this guy has that matters.
