Tiers for non-fighting games?

Rondo of Blood tiers:

SSS+ : Maria
Why am I in this game again? tier: Richter.

Top tier: Fried chicken, cheese burgers, fremch fries, pizza, calzone cupcakes, cookies, steak,
mid tier: 50 dollar steak, salads (any kind from chopped salad to greek)
bottom tier: I don’t know about you but fish unless its sushi than thats a mid tier

If there is no god-tier, then why even put a god-tier on your list? lol

Question 1: What?

Question 2: Why the Japanese names?

EDIT:

I just noticed you pointed out Julian as High tier too, WTF. Especially above Caeda and Lena, double WTF.
As soon as you can buy keys (which is pretty early) and Marth gets the Fire Emblem, thieves are effectively obsolete. Can’t change class, can’t promote, can’t steal. Unlocking doors and chests is merely a time-taking inconvenience (especially since there are no turn limits in any battle) and the convoy is always with you in battle so there is zero reason to waste a slot in the party on a thief.

Also, why do they have Draug so low? For me, his speed is INSANE for a General. I’m looking at him right now from one of my last saves, and he’s 20/7 with an 18 in speed and I don’t think I used more than 1 speed boosting item on him.

Linde near bottom?!! The fact that she’s the only one who can use Aura without being at Level B should be one counter-point. The much more important one is that her growths are AWESOME.
My Linde ended up almost eclipsing my Merric in everything but defense and HP. Her speed and luck more than make up for that.

What’s the point of Snipers when you have Ballisticians, and plenty of ranged attackers given to you like a ton of great mages and Javelin users?
You don’t encounter flying enemies in any significant quantity until near the end of the game, and by then I would hope you would have better people to pick off Pegasus Knights than freakin’ Gordin.
I changed Cord into a Hunter then promoted into Warrior, and he eclipsed Gordin so badly it was comical. And the more time I sank into Gordin trying to keep him up, the more he fell behind. And for what? To use weak-ass Longbows?

Beck is definitely better than Jake.

I would put rogue in upper-mid, below sorcerers. They are the only non magic, non charge oriented builds that can do level appropriate damage though out their entire careers. That and with UMD on their skill list they can eventually get all kinds of wands and stuff for utility purposes.

Also, Paladins are definitely above Barbarians, they have better saves and they automatically get a mount which means they can go into mounted combat without much hassle and then start lancing people for x3 damage.

because i can lol? and it wasnt my list.

Good Arguments. Actually like I said I copied and pasted that of SerF - I don’t know why they use jap names shrug

1: But I wanted to nerf Julian, read over my post. The Fire Emblem can open any chest, and you can purchase master keys from the online shop like you said :looney:

2: Yes Draug has pretty good speed and skill for a general. But I guess they did that because of his unusual low strength cap growth. I’ve been hearing that many people don’t like the generals in this game, for arrows as a second weapon slot fails over something like say axes. I’m not a fan of generals myself in this game, unless it’s something like class swapped Sedgar (but I don’t think this list is based off class swapping)

3: Most people just think Merric is all you need (for normal play anyway). If Merric died then I’ll agree that Linde could fill in, it probably would be a good idea to use both since most enemies have low resistance. I was able to beat the game with just Merric though, so I guess it depends on personal experience maybe.

4: Snipers get a ACC and Critical boost. I class swapped Est (or was it Catria? eh one of them) into one and she was basically Rebecca off FE7. Couldn’t be touched, destroying everything. Ballisticians are good but most of their weapons need forging, you’ll spend wads of G if you want their maximum potential. Most Gordin’s I know are either crappy or solid - MY Gordin was solid at the end of the game. Most of his stats minus reistiance was around or above the 20s.

5: Agreed. Beck is waaay better, I was going to edit a few more things on that Tier List but I was just too sleepy. If you can tier list this game, I’d be more than happy to see it

Yeah, I noticed you said it wasn’t your list.
I rarely understand most FE tiers anyway, and tiers are basically moot here since on normal mode the game is so easy and mindless that it doesn’t even matter, and weapon forging, arena abuse, and class change only make it even more futile.
Someone not dealing enough damage? Customize their weapon.
Need levels for a level one unpromoted? Change them into a healer. Seriously, I gained like 10 levels in one battle for Linde and it wasn’t even a map with an arena.
Archers’ growths are sucking? Make one of your better characters into one.

I will concede that Draug is not as strong as he could be, but it really doesn’t matter. Like I said, you can customize a weapon. Tanks don’t need to be that strong anyways, you already have plenty of killers on your team. And his speed makes up for it–my Draug doesn’t get doubled by Pegasus Knights (not that they do any damage in the first place).

The enemy armies have absolutely no answer to the mages in this game. As you said, enemy resistance for 99% of the units in the game is ridiculously low and enemy mages’ speed, skill, and magic stats are so terrible it borders on parody as Merric, Linde, and Lena outclass all enemy spell slingers by a country mile.

The Sniper boost is a 5% in Accuracy and Crit. Yes, a whole whopping 5%–not even the 15% they’ve traditionally gotten. I’d rather just pay an extra 1000G to add +5% to my Hunter’s customized bow.
The only other exclusive benefit, as I said, is access to the weak Longbows made utterly obsolete by Ballisticians.

You are correct in that you have to spend some G to make good Ballistician ammo, but doesn’t the game throw enough money at you to begin with? Gotta use it on something, right? I customized a weapon before EVERY SINGLE battle and still ended up with like 80,000G at the end of the game even with liberal spending on a cache of Iron weapons and Vulneraries that I never used.
EVEN WITHOUT arena abuse, you get more money that you would ever need, seeing as Iron and Steel weapons work just fine for the first 95% of the game.

well doesn’t look like I can argue back because I agree with everything you said lol.

think I’m going to change up my playing style, I used to keep julian alive ie for the hell of it, but not anymore :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m going to give linde a shot also

Maybe I’ll try the Hard Modes.

Word of advice, change Linde from Sage to Cleric first. Her MGC stat is horrible initially but it will grow. Later you can change her back, but I just kept her as a Cleric until promotion and then kept her as a Bishop.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

So true, so true. I need to play the Saturn Version of SOTN. Cause I gotta know is Maria brokeshit in that too?

I heard good things about the series, but never got in to it.

Is it really that good?

Not compared to Alucard. Poor damage output against lategame boss HP and fewer options/abilities.

So tiers would be something like this.

God
Richter w/Holy Water or Daggers

High
Alucard
Richter

How the Brokeshit have fallen
Maria

I wasn’t aware that Richter could be so broke, so maybe I am wrong about Maria. But when I played as her, she could rip through a lot of the early bosses, but some of the last few it seemed to take forever, and against Galamoth every single attack she has only does 1 damage so good luck killing him as Maria.

Richter with those 2 weapons gives him a CURLEH MUSTACHE like no other. Hydro Storm is just fucked up anyway. And he can do 4 of those if he’s maxed on hearts. Problem is that nothing in Richter’s game can stand more than 2 before DA RAPE comes. And the daggers are just as insane and they only cost 10 per Item Crash. So yes, Richer in SOTN is broke as fuck with those 2 sub-weapons. Any thing else he’s just a mid tier character with Alucard edging him out. Sometime this week I’ll have to cop the Saturn Version and play as Maria and I’ll give my thoughts then.

The Fire Emblems are mostly pretty good SRPG games, but they are notorious for being far more frustrating and unforgiving than other SRPGs because of permadeath, weapons that wear out with usage, maps which surprise your party with hidden enemies, and worst of all characters getting screwed over by the fickle Random Number Generator of Doom.

The new DS version (which is really a remake of the 1st FE which had already been remade on the Super Famicom…) is probably the best one to start with to ease you into the series even though it lacks a few of the conventions that appear later in the series.

Is Richter even more broken than decked out Alucard with Crissaegrim (or Alucard Shield/Shield Rod combo)? Or is the point that Richter doesn’t have to grind to become broken?

Yeah, pretty much. Alucard steps on some other shit when he gets some of that wild shit like the Criss and Duplicator. But Richter doesn’t have to do shit but have 40 Hearts to fuck up anything moving. So if you bring all of those things into the mix Richter still edges out Alucard in who’s more broken because it only takes 1 hit candle to pretty much have a Win Button playing as Richter.

Better saves at the cost of offense. They needed to get their charisma score sky-high to have good saves, but that meant sacrificing strength, which is bad because it means they can’t hit as easily or do as much damage. 3.5 Paladins’ MAD (multi-attribute dependency) killed them.

As for the mount, that was only useful in wide-open areas. In dungeons that thing was useless.

They don’t have to dump everything in charisma, just put your highest into Str and Con then whatever you have left in Cha. They are only really MAD if you try and keep your Wis up which is pointless because at no point are they going to cast a spell that anyone gives a shit about.

Also, any good mounted character is gonna be a halfling or gnome. All your damage comes from multipliers, and a riding dog is only medium sized which means you can take it anywhere.
