I heard something about Lady Luck and Gunner being broken. I didn’t know that the SDSPs and Mascot were above them, though.
Mascot is basically Mime from FFV just slightly watered down.
the special dress spheres probably aren’t as good as I claimed due to the chore it takes to activate them.
iirc only good things I remember about Lady Luck is double sp/xp so. meh. :\
Alchemists are crazy too once you learn Mega-Potion/Phoenix.
Berserker or Dark Knights are the best attacking class though. Warrior is meh. :\
I haven’t played the game in a long ass time so this shit is just off the top of my head.
I have a party planned out. It’s going to consist of:
Yuna: Either Gun Mage or Dark Knight
Rikku: Alchemist
Paine: Gunner
I’ll have Rikku on Unerring Path so I can use Machina Maw. Zero Suit Rikku! <3
The 100 Floor Dungeon after you beat the game you pretty much run Gunner w/ catnip (cats bell? I don’t remember the name of the accessory)/Dark Knight/Alchemist or you will die
Sounds pretty giggity. Thanks, Stu.
most guides actually tell you to run Gunner/2DK but it’s all player preference really. I usually ran Gunner w/ Cat item/DK/Alchemist until boss fights then Gunner/2DK
I’m only at Chapter 2 right now and running Warrior/Gunner/White Mage because of how good White Mage is in the lower levels.
lady luck w/ roulette manipulation is beyond godlike
Gunner/Catnip was too strong, Gunner ends up the most broken dressphere with one.
Alchemist is a good beginners dressphere, but you’ll be in Dark Knight/Berserker combinations majority of the game. Berserkers speed and power compliments Dark Knight’s low spell selection since you’ll be focusing on plummeting the enemy with darkness spells. The special dresspheres deserve a mention but you can do so much more with other potential combinations as to where they’ll just lose out in the long run.
Most people forget about the Samurai dressphere but it’s rather a poor substitute over the Dark Knight one. And finally, I heard some things about lady luck promos but for me it went Berserker/Dark Knight/Gunner+Catnips.
Has anyone done Crash Commando weapon tiers?
k, I’mma give them a try then.
God:
Remote-controlled Missile
Top:
Grenade Launcher
Sniper Rifle
Minigun
Plasma Rifle
Mines
Upper Mid:
Shotgun
Hand Grenades
Lower Mid:
Rocket Launcher - held back for being the only weapon that has to reload with every shot
CAB Laser - only this high for use in Objective games, healing teammates and detonating Mines that the defense team set up
Bottom:
Machine Gun
C4 - would be a great zoning tool if you could still fire your primary weapon after planting a brick… but you can’t
Pistol - sometimes nice in a pinch since you can switch over to it while your primary weapon is reloading
Shit:
Combat Knife - is it glitched? sometimes I am directly toe-to-toe with an enemy mashing away on the R1 and they don’t die
I see a lot of this, but I gotta disagree with it. That might be a good individual character ranking, but a better tierlist with regards to party structure is:
[S] Claude
[A] Opera, Chiasto
** Ashton, Bowman, Rena, Precis
[C] Celine, Leon
[D] Dias, Ernest
[NOEL TIER] Noel
Mainly Ashton moved down a spot because if you pick him you can’t get Opera, and then if you don’t have Opera you need to have a dedicated healer (Rena) in your party. Opera can use the white star to do the healing for you faster than Rena can (though the downside is she can’t cure status effects with it). More fighters means getting more hits in on the enemy, which means the enemy can’t do as much. Plus her alpha on one really helps with the game’s 3 super-bosses, because it can chase them down as they’re running around the screen and hit them out of whatever spell they might start casting. That way you can have 3 dedicated fighters on autopilot (Claude using his normal attack, Chisato using 10000 volts and tear gas, and Bowman/Precis using their barrier/pills KM spam) and control Opera, going back between Alpha on One (good KM to lockdown one enemy because it hits several times each use and comes out quickly) and white star KM for healing. Ashton is a better individual character but parties with Opera tend to be better.
Opera is a better healer than Rena because, at max skill, her white star KM will heal over 5000 HP with no casting time, freezing the action during the healing animation, and it will only cost 2 MP. With Rena you have to queue up the spell, then wait for her to cast the heal and protect her while she casts. If she gets hit then you might have to start the wait all over again. With Opera the KM comes out instantly, once you push the button the enemies only have like, one tenth of a second to hit her out of it before the heal comes out. Plus it has no real recovery time so you can do it twice back to back and boom, your party is full health, and only like 1 second of actual battle time went by. Plus the animation is way shorter than any of Rena’s heals which is nice because it’s not so annoying. And when she isn’t healing she has better offensive abilities than Rena too, Alpha on One KM is worth repeating.
If you don’t pick Opera then your team is probably a shoe-in of Claude, Ashton, Rena, and probably Chisato (maybe Bowman/Precis), because Ashton is just that badass of a fighter.
I ranked Bowman above Precis because he can use the weird slayer weapon while Precis cannot. They both have similar moves otherwise, it’s just that Bowman’s weapon leeches life while Precis’ just does marginally more damage. Also with Precis you have to use her crafting FOREVER in order to get the item that teaches her bread and butter KM (Barrier), while Bowman gets his bread and butter (Explosion Pills) just through the natural course of leveling up, which is much less frustrating.
Also mages are C tier when used together, as if you get really good at doing their combination spells you can actually do some decent damage with them. Though if you go that route your team is gonna be Claude / Rena / Chisato / Leon, and your enemies are gonna have free reign to run around wherever and cast spells whenever they please. (Anyone who’s played the super bosses on Universe knows that this is way, way important, one spell can often wipe the whole party). If you’re playing on the PSP the combo spells don’t work so they would get their own [MAGE] tier below Dias but probably still above Noel.
Oh, and Claude’s scenario is generally better to play than Rena’s. He can pickpocket a Battle Armor, the second-best armor in the game next to the Seraphic Garb, from the one scene where he’s on the ship at the tower on the 3rd continent.
I’m working on a tier list for Super Smash Bros. Brawl: The Subspace Emissary. So far, here’s what I’ve come up with.
Top: Bowser, Marth, Samus, Fox, Falco
High: Pokemon Trainer, Meta Knight, Mario, Captain Falcon, Zelda, Sheik, Zero Suit Samus, Luigi, Kirby
Mid: everyone else
Low: Ness, Lucas, Peach
Bottom: Mr. Game & Watch, Jigglypuff, Ike
Sad to say it, but my boy Sonic sucks pretty hard in Subspace Emissary too. Yeah he’s fast, but he doesn’t hit hard, or have reach, or spammable projectiles, or anything really. And you don’t even get him until the final boss.
Sonic is mid to me because if you missed any treasures during your campaign, there’s no one better to retrieve them, especially if you know where they are. Well-timed dive kicks can lead to a forward smash, which kills a lot of enemies, and if it doesn’t, you can rush in and dash attack. Sonic is alright, but just alright.
Yoshi should be top tier for SSE. His dive attack can damn near insta-kill most normal enemies and his egg toss is one of the few moves that rapes flying enemies. Yoshi’s standard jump is probably the most useful jump due to the lack of pits and heavy knockback in SSE. Other than that, your list seems pretty accurate. Yoshi also has pretty good reach without a weapon, does good damage, and can rush enemies down with his egg roll move.
I’m thinking that Samus and Yoshi are God Tier in SSE
Robo imo is still second best, even with the option to deal out 9,999, simply because as strong as 9999 damage is, both of these are not consistent enough to give them the edge and merit. Even with the Dragon’s Tear they can’t do it more then 1/3 times per turn, and that usually leads to 3333 damage only.
Chrono may not deal the “9999” damage remark, however he makes up for this by having the single greatest and most consistently damaging special in the game…Luminaire does 7.5k damage almost always, besides a few select mobs and the Lavos Bit. Not only that, but he’s not hindered by having to use his slot for a Dragon’s Tear or what not, which makes him still the #1 best character in the game. I’d take 7.5k AoE damage consistency over the still random 9999 damage anyday.
If 9999 landed more often then not with Robo, I would mark him #1, however at the end of the game, Chrono can hang with both the 9ker’s easily with Luminaire, not to mention DreamSeeker is a nice addition to him as well.
Ayla is still the 3rd best character in the game, her ability 9999 damage basically puts her there by default, and she lands it even more so then Robo does. However the problem with Ayla is that, this is all that she can do, which is why she’s #3, still a beast though.
Lucca is below the Big 3, she has the one of the best, if not the 2nd best single magic attack in the game with Flare, and she dishes out great damage with her single attacks as well, I guess if you add “dual tech’s”, she’s also better then anyone below her.
Magus, great single magic attacks, however his damage is still nowhere near as consistent, even with the more beefy damage. He can’t single damage as well as Lucca which gives her far more versatility. Frog can’t do anything remotely well which is ultimately his problem, his healing capabilities Robo can do better however Robo has damage capabilities to go with this, his single attacks pale to the majority of those above him, which really leaves him in the gutter.
Marle…honestly, she “should’ve” been beefed up, like make her Cure 2 actually cure the group, that would’ve been a nice thought, and allowing life 2 to heal and revive two fallen characters to max instead of just one. However her being a “support” character, she is vastly out shined by the ones above. So her damage is no good, her magic attacks are no where near the best characters, Square gave her support healing to Robo…she’s the absolute worst in the game…still.
Imo, it’s like this.
Top
Chrono/Robo
Ayla
Upper
Lucca
Middle
Magus
Bottom
Frog
Gutter trash
Marle
discuss.
Frog is bottom. There’s nothing he can do that somebody else can’t do better. Even Marle’s Ice spells do more damage than Frog’s Water spells, and Marle has Haste and heals to boot. IMO, swap the two of them.
Both their offensive magic blows, however Frog has better single damage, and he still has an AoE heal that sets him above Marle. All Marle really has is haste, both Cure2 and Life 2 is a pure joke for the fact that it only and still targets a single character.
