Tiers for non-fighting games?

Sorry for getting to this late, but I’ve never tried to do a full tier list; only tier-lists relative to a specific character’s classes.

But I’d go with something like this:

GODLY:
Dervish
Star Lancer

HIGH:
God Hand
Death Hand
Ninja Master
Nightblade
Swordmaster
Duelist
Fenrir Knight
Warrior Monk
Wanderer

And then it gets fuzzy from there. I’d probably put Rune Master next due to sniping power and being the one caster class that doesn’t really hurt a Kevin/Duran team much (doesn’t need Stat-Ups/Downs, either).

As for Sonic Chronicles, no arguments with that list. Sonic’s Whirlwind does have its uses (stupidly evasive flying enemies mainly), but I definitely can agree with his placement. And yeah, there’s no hope for Rouge.

Phantasy star 2 tiers really don’t leave much for debate (i.e. I don’t really disagree with your list). It’s pretty much universally decided the tiers go:

Rolf
Amy/Rudo
Kain/Anna
Nei
Shir/Hugh

You can nitpick about Kain being above Anna, for example, but that’s about it. Personally, I give Kain an edge just because he can handle robots, though if you use Rudo, it’s not as much of an issue.

True, about the tiers being set in stone. The same thing is true of Phantasy Star 4.

Top Tier
Rajah (he’s at the top of the top tier)
Rune
Chaz
Rika

Mid Tier
Hahn
Wren
Demi (if you have Phonomeizer)

Low Tier
Kyra
Demi (if you forgot to grab Phonomeizer)

Totally Useless Tier
Gryz

Rajah just has too much broken crap. His Ataraxia allows Chaz to spam Megid and Rika to spam Nasar as needed. Miracle can heal everyone, even Wren. Rajah makes the end game way too easy. Rune is slightly better than Chaz because Rune has a lot more long term damage potential than Chaz does, especially if you don’t have Rajah with you. Rune and Rajah are also best used if they have two shields each, while Chaz’s defense is mediocre due to having a sword.

The only two characters that are worth using as a 5th party member are Rajah and Hahn. Hahn is highly versatile because he has a huge tech list, which gives him a lot of combos, making leveling a breeze with Hahn in the party. Use Rajah if you just want to win quickly, Hahn if you want to have fun with the end game.

Hahn over Kyra? I don’t see what Hahn brings to the table that Kyra doesn’t.

Kyra just doesn’t have anything really good to offer. Hahn has good debuffs (they seem to be more reliable as he levels) and his combos allow very quick leveling. Kyra requires farming her ultimate slasher to become useful. Hahn’s Vision skill is unique in that its one of the only, if not only moves that increases crit rate, plus he has the Vol line of skills which reliably insta-kill organic foes. Kyra has elemental crap that Rune already has, and can do better.

Kyra is a solid party member for normal enemies, but her slasher hit-all gimmick is moot against bosses and her techs and skills are crap that Rune and Rika collectively have between them. Her TP also sucks, making her a liability compared to Hahn, who has very high TP, especially since both have the Res line of skills.

What about the new Chrono Trigger for the DS. Because of the new equipments, I think the tier list MIGHT change.

I mean, now I think Robo is #1 no questions. (He’s in top, but people debate if Ayla/Chrono/Robo is on top) With Apocolypse Arm + Crit boost item, he’s now Ayla 9999 point strike WITH all that nifty Tech skills and beefy DEF.

I forgot about Savol, which does give him an advantage over Kyra (who sadly is the one character who lacks any instant-kill ability at all), and his slightly higher Mental stat does result in a bit more power with techs/combos, so I’ll concede that Hahn is better than Kyra. I don’t see how there’s a full tier difference between the two, though. Do debuffs work on bosses? Honest question, since I never used them in boss battles.

Combo options? All combos that Hahn can do, Kyra can do (outside of Holocaust, but Kyra has Black Hole instead). Gryz has no versatility, magic defense, or even that much power, and Demi is a liability in boss battles because she can’t be healed by Gi/NaSar (even with phonomezer, I don’t see how she’s that good). For androids, if you don’t have Raja or Kyra, you have to have them use Recover or toss an Repair Kit on them. And if you have Demi, you don’t have Raja nor Kyra. Kyra’s clearly a viable third choice for fifth party member at endgame, significantly above both Gryz and Demi.

Unless you spam NaGra, TP is never an issue with Kyra at all. As for the Res line, as Kyra, you’ll alternate between Medice and Nares as appropriate. And in boss battles, Hahn has NaWat vs. Kyra’s NaFoi; neither of them are doing extensive damage (Hahn doing a bit more, admittedly). They’re both regulated to spot healers/mediocre damage in boss fights, though Kyra’s a bit more durable for what it’s worth.

EDIT:… Except I forgot Hahn has Astral, which is stronger than NaWat. Plus, that gets him Paladin Blow. Blarg.

Alright, I recently did a run through the whole series, and thought I’d give this a try. I still feel that many vary depending on situation though, so this is kinda a rough tiering.

Weapons
Best: Heavy Machine Gun (primarily for the versatility, also diagonal shooting)
Good: Shotgun, Flameshot, Enemy Chaser, Iron Lizard, Dual Machine Guns, Laser Bang, MobSat, Thunderbolt
**Fair: **Zantetsu Sword, Thundercloud
Poor: Rocket Launcher
Garbage: Dropshot

Grenades
God: Vomit Stream
Good: ordinary Grenades, Firebombs
Poor: Stone

Vehicles
Best: Slug Driller, Slug Gunner, Spider Slug, Metal Slug Type-R
Good: most everything else
Poor: Mammoth Slug, Slugstritch, Camel Slug, Donkey Slug, TIAF 660
Garbage: everything from Metal Slug 4 except the Bradley, Driller V2, Slug Truck

EDIT: Forgot the Donkey Slug even existed.

hey would anyone here know about the tier list in this game

This is the best troll ever.

holy shit I completly forgot to say the games name.

Its final fantasy tactics for the gba.

anyone got any tiers for it?

also star ocean for the psp.

i like this thread im suscribed

FFT has already been done. Infact, the stupid, anal, FF discussions earlier almost ruined the thread IMO. I think Star Ocean was done too, dunno if it was for psp.

He’s talking about FFT Advance 1. Tiers have been done for it months ago, but I can’t remember the specifics.

I know Assassin is top, hands-down. Paladin is the best human class, with Blue Mage being the best human subjob. Not sure what else.

i figure this would’ve been covered…

God Tier

Estelle - eternal roll cancel ftw

Top Tier:

Rita - makes the game laughably easy halfway through with her retarded OL and spell spamming. by the end of the game you can beat just about everyone with meteor storm or tidal wave, spells that fill the whole screen, make it impossible for the enemy to reach you, and pretty much RROD your xbox D:

Repede - Gale Dog + retarded ass speed makes him as close to untouchable as estelle.

Yuri - easy dial a combo moves and glory skill makes him broken and destructive. as long as he has HP he will never stop comboing you.

Mid

Raven - Arguiably the best healer in the game and… pretty that’s much it. anything else he can do can be done better by anyone else. ZA WARUDO is kinda cool th0.

Low

Karol - Pretty strong but moves like he’s underwater and has down syndrome. Has maybe 3 or 4 useful offensive artes. 100 man melee with him is unbearably frustrating

I really don’t know where to put Judith because there’s this neverending argument about whether or not she’s better than yuri. she has stupid combos and better damage, but her learning curve is retardedly long and if she’s not in the air she’s essentially useless.

Well, ninja has to be up there somewhere, I believe. I thought the FFT for the GBA was, save for a few changes, essentially the same gameplay wise and the tier list could be applied from the Playstation version.

Your list looks pretty good to me. The only part I have slight disagreement with is Rita’s placement. I don’t remember the specifics, but there was a way to get her near infinite, if not infinite OL. I would place Rita in the God Tier with Estelle. As far as Judith, I think she’s mid tier. Like you said, she has good damage and combos, but she can screw up other character’s combos if you’re not careful. Judith is overall slightly physically more capable than Yuri, but Judith can be retarded when controlled by the AI. This is how the list looks IMO

God Tier
Estelle
Rita

Top Tier
Yuri
Repede

Mid Tier
Raven
Judith

Low Tier
Karol

Vesperia is overall pretty balanced. The only anti-useful character is Karol. He’s basically a nerfed Presea from Symphonia.

Here are GgVjyx-F9Ag]two showing infinites that Rita can do.

@TechRomancer: The differences between FFT and FFTA are immense, to say the least. They barely resemble each other at all.

i knew about the tidal wave infinite, didnt see the violent pain one yet…

only reason i didnt put her to god tier is cause her infintes can be OL out of by bosses, at which point ur other players will probly get hit keeping you from taunting for more meter, certain bosses will just break out of combos cause theyre bosses.

estelle can’t be touched, and she can do it to allies as well, potentially eternal supporting the whole party if need be.

According to the video (I have not verified any of this, since I don’t have the game), Violent Pain infinite cannot be broken out of via Overlimit because enemies can’t overlimit from a downed state. Not sure how many bosses can be knocked down, though.

Ninja for Double Sword + Speed growth, can be tops. Ninja abilities are pretty poor, and they have bad defenses just like in 2. Double Sword impacts should down most enemies in 1 though, or leave them in critical condition. Paladin are exceptionally strong in FFTA1, with superior stats all around and a better holy blade atk (which caught a nerf in 2)

The Thief was top in FFTA1. Steal Ability is a pretty broken skill.

Blue Mages were top in 1 because of certain skills and principles. Ex Bad Breath remains pretty beastly still, and Mages can cast magic right off the back.

The Hunter was top in one. Hunting + 10JP = human summon. Ultima Shot/Sidewinder were powerful abilities also. Actually, anything with an Ultima move was theoretically top. This includes Sage, Mog Knight (though more of a case with gunner support), and Gladiator. The Assassin class is strictly broken, so anything there is like too good in 1.

Viera Red Mage was top do to access of double casting, an important ability to make other classes more beastly (summoner and elementalist)

I think the Templar was top with some other combination, but I can’t remember.
