Tiers for non-fighting games?

Were there tiers for Seiken Densetsu 3?

I’d have to say that Kevin is hands down the best in the game. Lise is 2nd best, followed by hawke, then Angela, then carlie, and Duran is last

This could be way off. I’ve never really experimented with Carlie or Duran. Any SD3 players? I’d like to tier individual classes, but that would get complex because of team dynamics.

I think tiers would depend on what class they are, and who are their teammates. Like, if Kevin is with 2 non-healers, he would be much better in Light classes than dark.

I’m pretty sure its too hard to tier characters, but classes would be the best thing to tier.

Kevin > Lise >>>>> Everyone else

Metroid Prime 2: Boss Tiers

Top Tier:
Spider Guardian
Boost Guardian

High Tier:
Emperor Ing
Chykka
Quadraxis

Middle Tier:
Caretaker Class Drone
Dark Samus(all forms)
Amorbis

Low Tier:
Grapple Guardian
Jump Guardian
Dark Alpha Splinter

Bottom Tier:
Bomb Guardian
Power Bomb Guardian
Dark Missile Trooper

I thought you already did those…

Anyway, since we were talking about F-Zero GX earlier, I wanted to say I got matches of me and my friend Pyro up on my youtube account:

I did them for the first Prime.

F-Zero GX

Top:
Fat Shark

High:
Black Bull

Bottom:
Everything else

Joke:
Space Angler

Oh, my bad.

What happened to mid tier?!:wow:

I’m not seeing how Carlie beats Angela. Black Curse is great, but that makes her useful only for the last third of the game. Angela is great for the first two phases of the game, and only really starts being weak in the last third, but she’s far from useless even then:

Grand Divina is an all-arounder, being decent at every aspect of casting.

Archmage is good for Saint-Beaming and Poto-tossing (no need for Heal Light in this game at all).

Rune Master is one hell of a sniper. Great boss killer too, if you have the patience.

Magus… well, yeah, Magus really doesn’t offer much at all, but her other three final classes are good.

I’m not saying Angela is bad or anything, nobody is (not even Carlie as Sage is bad enough to not use her). The thing is she doesn’t go very well with the top 3 characters, which all happen to be strong melee type characters which Angela can’t support very well. She’ll most likely just slow you down if you put her in your team with any of them. She’s also annoying in a multiplayer game because of the many breaks when she’s casting :stuck_out_tongue:
And the last third of the game is were things start to get interesting anyway. She’s also the worst choice when you are going to face the optional super boss.

I guess Hyper Speeder, Sonic Phantom, Big Fang, and Death Anchor would be mid tier. THEN everything else low/bottom.

And I guess custom machines would range from low to mid, since there are so many possibilities?

Yeah, but the good custom machines are shitloads better than the Fat Shark. Adding custom machine tiers would put all the regular machines in low

You seem well-informed; what exactly determines the tier list in F-Zero GX? Is it just the general handling of the vehicle, its max speed. etc? Because I personally gave the Black Bull a try a few times and absolutely hated it.

Damn, that thing sucks on the Big Blue courses.

It’s been a while since I was into the game, having trouble remembering all the details…

I remember first time using the Fat Shark I thought the same thing, didn’t know how anyone could consider a machine so… stiff good. But using the drift turn instead of the slide turn makes it easier to control, and using the quick turn (pressing the button opposite of the side you want to turn, releasing it and pressing the other and holding it) makes it much easier.

This is using max speed, when regular handling is the worst.

The tiers seem to go by the max speed on 100% speed, the body rating (I’m not sure but I think the Fat Shark was almost twice as strong as the Black Bull), plus how long each boost lasts. Pretty much all the 1080km/h top speed machines except Fire Stingray and Wild Boar are decent. And I think Black Bull and Fat Shark were the only non-custom’s that you could snake with.

I see the sense in that after I learned to play the game better. I’m the one who did the previous list. I agree: Lucia is actually decent. She’s pretty much a nerfed Guy. All the characters are usable, but Guy’s a clear best.

However, I think I forgot how to do Lucia’s flame kick and super, as well as Dean’s super. Care to refresh a fellow fan’s memory?

I only agree with this, but that’s partially still. There’s no need to cast Heal Light in this game, but Poto Oil, the item version(and cheap enough replacement) of Heal Light, is a must. Therefore Spirit is important in this game.

tl;dr K > H > D = R > A = C

[details=Spoiler]
Melee owns this game. It’s very easy for both Angie and Charlie to hit 1pt damage if you try their natural build of intel/spi focus. So for them, they have to raise strength just to even deal any damage with normal attacks. Angie is great boss killer, but even then saber magic enchantments come in a lot handier than straight up magic attacks anyway. So Angie goes on rock bottom in my book.

Someone said that all Kevin class is good, but I can’t see that really. Of course this dude is #1 thanks to invincibility on transformation, but if you aren’t using dark class Kevin(or using him during daytime to begin with), you’re simply not using him to his potential. Full screen lvl 3 is irrelevant because there is hardly any chance to use them besides in boss battles, in which there aren’t any more than 2 targets on screen. The game also has a hidden counter wherein if you use too many lvl2/lvl3 in certain time, it counters you with AI version of fullscreen tech, anyway. Also Kevin/Duran’s spi should not get past reisz/hawk/angie/charlie if you want to max their specialty(con/str), so using them as a healer is not a great move imo. LL kevin is as shitty as LL Reisz or DD Duran in my book. Because Hawk’s classes are more balanced, I’d say Hawk is better choice for beginners(though potentially, yeah, Kev is tops).[/details]

TOP:
DD Kevin (Dervish) more or less the most powerful physical attacker.

HIGH:
LD Kevin (Warrior Monk) = DL Kevin (Death Hand)
LD Reisz (Star Lancer) Marduk is the single most helpful offense spell on the last stages IMO.
LD Hawk (Rouge)
DL Hawk (Ninja Master) goes really well with LD Reisz, but not too often you get to do this combo.
DL Duran (Swordmaster)
DD Hawk (NightBlade)
LL Hawk (Wanderer)

MID:
LL Duran (Paladin)
LD Duran (Lord)
LL Kevin (God Hand)
DD Reisz (Fenrir Knight)
DD Duran (Duelist)
DL Reisz (Dragon Master)

LOW:
LL Reisz (Vanadis)
DL Angie (Rune Master)
LD Angie (Archmage)
LL Charlie (Bishop)
LL Angie (Grand Diviner)
LD Charlie (Sage)
DD Angie (Magus)

I CAN’T SOLO THE GAME AT ALL AT LVL 45- WITH:
DL Charlie (Necromancer)
DD Charlie (Evil Shaman)
all 1st and 2nd classes

As far as teams go, this game is like FF6 in that the guys here are so powerful that discussion is almost null. I’d pick DL Riesz - LL Angie - DL Charlie for what is IMO the most challenging team, and DL Kevin - LL Duran - LD Hawk for low level/time challenges.

I guess I could put up the tiers for Marvel: Ultimate Alliance like I did in the Premium Marvel: Ultimate Alliance thread. Here we go.

@FatalFuryD, several comments about your tier list:

How is Warrior Monk above God Hand? MT Heal Light? Poto Oil is, as you said, superior to Heal Light, and God Hand has higher max Spirit AND Strength; GH is healing more and dealing more.

I’m not seeing how Rogue Hawk is above his dark classes. Rogue’s a solid caster, but Ninja Master gets you insta-cast MT Shiruken and stat downs, and Nightblade beats Rogue’s damage per attack by 38 (Attack +15 for higher strength, +4 for slightly better weapon, and two attacks = 38) and also brings along Deadly Weapon and (ST) stat-downs.

I do agree with Marduke being the best attack spell in the game; enemy counters mean nothing when all the enemies are silenced.
