Tiers for non-fighting games?

very hard game to tier.

I loved telekinesis. great defense plasmid, kills rpgers for free. also for whatever reason, throwing corpses does huge damage. Also, certain splicers couldn’t do anything against it and it basically made everything a weapon.

I would say it easily makes at least mid-tier.

I’d say the tommy gun is mid. I used it’s armor piercing rounds ALOT, it piled up damage fast, plus head shots.

other than that, I agree with both your lists. But bioshock is asuch a personal experience game that it’s extremely hard to tier.

good point about weapon skill. forgot about that one. speaking of which, there really should’ve been a separate stat for weapons. even in SoR1 there was a big difference in how characters used weapons.

Adam had HUGE reach with weapons (especially the PIPE, which had extra invisible pixels that could hit ) and got more stabs with the knife than average (seems that way…). Blaze had good reach with weapons. Axel had pisspoor reach with weapons.

So I’d probably rate their weapon skills like so
Adam - A
Blaze - B
Axel - C (but seeing as how only A’s and B’s were used in SoR1 I guess he gets a B and Blaze moves up to A)

As for SoR2…

Max - 3 stars - pipes and swords hit both ways… too good (like freaking Super Double Dragon nunchucks good…)
Blaze - 3 stars - great reach/speed with pipes and swords. Triple knife stab
Skate - 1 star - crappy reach and delay with pipes/swords. otoh literally no delay with knives
Axel - 2 stars - Crap reach with pipes/swords. better than skate at least, so probably should be higher than him

I believe that’s why technique was introduced in 2 as far as weapons goes. Not just for weapons usage, but everything in the entire characters arsenal ie character moves, combos.

An example would be Axels technique in 2, which is a given 3 star. Not for his usage of weaponary, but his ability to combo anything. His standard Jab X3 can be followed up with a regular straight kick (C then B without D-pad) as a finisher or if you don’t get the 2 hits from it, kick them once you land. His hold B is the best in the game (upon realese gives two solid kicks) and his rapid punch special can be chained X3 Jab or grab X2 knee to stomach.

In 2 not a single character had a 1 star in tech. Max’s ability to hit both ways with a pipe is REALLY good. But other than that his tech is so-so (more of a grab character) Skate’s ability to throw either way cranks up hs tech a bit, but not much going for him in weapons.

Adam was a monster with weapons in 1. wish he was a secret character in 2 after you rescue him. :stuck_out_tongue:

Ash > all in Streets of Rage 3, it was easy to do the whole game without loseing a life with err… him

Ash doesn’t exist in Streets of Rage 3.

Bare Knuckle 3 however…

Sorry to nitpick but you can’t do triple jab to neutral jump kick in SOR2. Well, you can but it’s not a true combo; the enemy is fully recovered after the straight punch and can uppercut you. Axel’s third punch in his combo kinda seems bugged… for instance, after hitting with it, you can’t pull off a neutral jump kick without delay (although you can do two jabs to a neutral jump kick seamlessly (also jump down+atk into C,B seamlessly)), and you can’t get the full three hits off of a grand upper (which makes two jabs -> grand upper more damaging than jab, jab, straight -> upper).

It works beautifully in SOR3 though (which has much less rigid comboing), although he has 2 stars in technique for that game (BK3).

Yeah I know it’s not recommend by any means, especially against Donovan who will indeed just uppercut you after the netural kick. It’s just something I throw out at galasia from time to time since they are the punching bags in this game. Usually I’ll just X3 punch into grand upper, or X2 punch.

I had no idea Streets of rage was so serious. But I guess I haven’t played that game since I was a kid. I always used Max anyways, but would be lucky to get one atomic buster throughout an entire playthrough.

Bioshock.

Come on, Telekinesis as “bottom”?! It makes just about everything a weapon, it drastically reduces the threat-level of Nitro Splicers since you can just throw their bombs back, TK-tossed gas cannisters(with or without proximity mines added) result in huge damage, and there’s defensive potential since you can TK up a body or some other large object in front of you as a shield. On top of this, it’s also useful in removing those electrical wires. And then…it’s very cheap in terms of Eve cost. You can do Telekinesis all day long without worrying about running out of power.

Target Dummy is the shit too. Every enemy in the game falls for it, including the terribly easy final boss. This one power single-handedly removes a great deal of challenge in the game, since it results in all enemies being constantly confused, attacking some ghost-clone of yourself while you light their ass up with no worries of counterattack. I think the only downside is that it costs a lot of Eve, but that isn’t really a big deal anyway due to the game’s various upgrades. I’d agree that Cyclone is totally worthless though. Insect Swarm is also a joke…but at least it’s funny and an interesting concept. Cyclone is lame in every possible way…definite bottom tier, Church’s Chicken-status.

Wrench by itself is lame, yes…but with all the upgrades you can get, it basically becomes the damn Mjolnir. I can’t even remember all the details, but you can get a ridiculous damage boost with that thing, plus regained health from each hit, and probably more “bonus” qualities.

Unreal Tournament Weapon Tiers

This is for UT 99 that was first for the PC then ported to the PS2.

God Tier

Redeemer - It’s a nuclear warhead. If that’s not god tier, then what is? The shockwave decimates any and all that it touches including you, so get the fuck outta dodge when you shoot this thing. Secondary fire lets you guide the warhead yourself for greater accuracy. Only down fall to this thing is that you only get one shot, but if you did get more then this weapon would be broken.

Top Tier

Sniper Rifle - BOOM!!! HEADSHOT!!! It only takes one well placed bullet to do the job. Non- headshots are still very strong, usually taking two too take someone down. Only two heads shots needed to kill someone with the shield belt. This gun hits instantly, and has a scope for zooming in as it’s secondary fire. This gun is ideal for long range, but still great at mind range and close range once mastered.

Shock Rifle - Fires strong shock bolts as the primary fire and shock balls as the secondary fire. Both fire types have alot of knockback which is great for pushing other players into hazards or off stages into space. This gun usually kills in 2 to 3 hits. A couple more hits need to be added on if an opponent has a shield belt on. This gun can do a shock combo, by hitting a shock ball with a shock bolt. This will cause a shock explosion that is instant death to anyone that gets hit with it. The range of the shock explosion is deceptive and the actual damage radius is bigger then it looks. This gun is great for all ranges and hit’s instantly.

High Tier

Rocket Launcher - This baby is very versatile and alot of fun. Has a lock on feature to it and missiles can charged so as many as six missiles can be shot at once. Secondary fire lobs grenades instead of missles which are good for when an opponent is pinned or you have chased someone around a corner. While charging missles the secondary fire button can be held, and when the missiles are fired, they will be in a tight circle instead of spread out. This is great for when playing in an enclosed area. This weapon also deals splash damage from missile/grenage explosions.

Minigun - A solid gun. It’s your basic Machine gun, deadly and efficient. Primary fire is fast, with good accuracy, secondary fire is even faster with poor accuracy. Good for mid range and close range. Also great for engaging multiple opponents since you can spray with this gun.

Ripper - Another solid gun that has the potential for one shot kills since it can decapitate enemies. Primary fire can also bounce off walls and around the map to kill unsuspecting enemies. Secondary fire can’t bounce off walls or cut off any heads, but to compensate the rounds are stronger per hit. The rate of fire is solid and this weapon is good for close range and mid range

Mid Tier

Flak Cannon - It’s basically a shot gun. Flak shells can richochet off walls and even come back at you if you aren’t careful. This weapon kills in one hit when up close. Secondary fire lobs a Flak grenade that can also kill in one shot if it’s a direct hit. Excels in close range and is decent at mid range. Better for use in tight corners and inclosed areas.

Double Enforcer - Two basic Handguns. With two you have a good rate of fire and can do some good damage. Secondary fire lets you shoot both guns faster at the cost of accuracy.

Low Tier

Pulse Cannon - The CPU rapes with this thing. Too bad it’s not quite as good in human hands. Primary fire shoots green plasma balls that do decent damage and has a high rate of fire. Still, they are a little too easy too dodge. Secondary fire shoots a continuous stream of energy that is hard to use except in close range. The stream consumes energy twice as fast and does half the damage of the plasma balls. Overall, it’s not as good as the other guns that are higher on the list.

Enforcer - The basic handgun. Shoots bullets that do decent damage and has a decent rate of fire. Secondary fire lets you shoot faster at the cost of accuracy.

Bottom Tier

Bio Rifle - Ugh. The gun everyone hates. Primary fire shoots radioactive sludge at enemies. Can stick to walls and damge them if they run over it or damage you as well. Secondary fire lets you charge the weapon and make a sludge ball bigger and bigger until you decide to shoot it. It’s actually decent in the hands of a master, but almost all of the guns are leagues ahead of this one, so why bother?

Chainsaw - Primary fire does alot of damage and secondary fire takes a guy’s head clean off. Too bad you gotta get so close to use it. Try to run up on someone with this and you will get gunned down. It’s still really cool though.

Impact Hammer - Primary fire charges the hammer and let’s you release it to one hit kill someone or secondary fire cna be used for repeated hammer strikes. The hammer can reflect projectiles, but that’s very hard to do. This is the worst wepaon in the game hands down, but no one uses it for anything, but hammer jumps anyway.

Discuss.

Also Ripper could go to mid tier, but I made it high tier since it can headshot and the rounds do pack a punch to them.

I’d personally swap the Flak and the Ripper. The Flak secondary fire also launches them from a close splash hit iirc (maybe? It’s been a while), meaning a follow up kill with primary should be easy.

Hell, even if that’s not true, I’d say the primary’s wide arc up close gives it more prestige than the Ripper. Yes, the Ripper can get head shots, but the travel time takes away from it’s usefulness in immediate situations and opportunities.

edit:

I’d also probably slip the Mini higher than the rocket launcher.

Mini over rocket launcher doesn’t matter since I made no attempt to order the weapons within each tier, but now that I’m looking at it, the weapons do look they are in order.

I like the Flak Cannon more then the Ripper it’s just easier to get kills with the Ripper.

That is honestly the only reason why the Ripper is in high tier.

But I wouldn’t mind switching them TBH.

I’ve always had to work way harder for kills with the ripper than the flak cannon. The ripper does pisspoor damage on non-headshots IIRC, so people jumping around makes that shit impossible to kill with. The flak cannon, on the other hand, is pretty easy to point in the right direction and start lobbing damage at people.

Alrighty then.

So the list now reads as

God Tier

Redeemer - It’s a nuclear warhead. If that’s not god tier, then what is? The shockwave decimates any and all that it touches including you, so get the fuck outta dodge when you shoot this thing. Flak Cannon and Ripper have been switched.

Minigun is now higher then the Rocket launcher just for the hell of it.

TBH I only use the Shock Rifle now. Good at all ranges, plenty of ammo when the ammo is at max, good power, can lay down supressive fire with secondary fire, and then instant hits with primary fire. And of course there is the shock combo, which is too fucking lethal when you master it.

I love the Shock Rifle.

I like where everything falls on this tier list. The Shock rifle is an all purpose toolbox and if you have a minigun or a flack cannon to back you up, then the person on the other end is going to be pissed.

After getting to Lv. 55 and then playing some, I think I’m ready to tier the perks in Call of Duty 4. I won’t bother with the Perk 1 group since that stuff is mostly equipment and gun attachments. I can tell you that Bomb Squad sucks though since Claymores and stuff stick out like a sore thumb.

Perk 2 Tier
Top Tier

  • Double Tap- This perk rocks for semi-auto or automatic weapons. People die incredibly quickly with this perk active
  • Stopping Power- Excellent Shotgun or Sniper Rifle perk. This counteracts Juggernaut, which is probably the most popular Perk 2.

Mid Tier

  • Overkill- A lot of the later primary weapons are so powerful that 2 primary guns equals a rape.
  • Juggernaut- This Perk is generally looked down upon as a Noob-only perk. Its nice, but doesn’t give that much of a lifeline. It does nerf sniping though as it takes 2 headshots at least to kill a Juggernaut user. Death still comes too quickly in mid or close range combat, keeping this from the top tier.

Low Tier

  • Sleight of Hand- The reload speed helps in tight firefights, but there are better Perk 2, so this isn’t looking too good compared to the other Perk 2.
  • UAV Jammer- This helps against enemy air strikes and is a good perk to use if you have trouble against snipers. This perk moves up to the top tier in team based games though for utility of being able to sneak on your foes.

Ass Tier

  • Sonic Boom- Total dog shit, as this only helps grenades and RPGs (which are only good against helicopters)

Perk 3 Tiers
Top Tier

  • Extreme Conditioning- The increase to your sprinting is invaluable in team based games, and this is a good perk to have to either sneak up on foes or get within stabbing distance on people
  • Deep Impact- Being to shoot people through some walls is always a good thing, although this perk sometimes loses usefulness depending on the stage

Mid Tier

  • Iron Lungs- This should be the perk of choice for Sniper players because this makes a hell of a difference, ass otherwise though
  • Steady Aim- This perk isn’t bad, but holding the aim button is usually a safer bet if you want to hit your target (or using the grip for your primary gun).

Low Tier

  • Dead Silence- Rarely useful because the constant gunfire drowns out the magic “1 Footstep Sound”
  • Martyrdom- Only good in tight hallways, because the grenade indicator causes the reflex to run away or throw the damn grenade away

Ass Tier

  • Last Stand- Pistols are weak in this game and its obvious because of the animation, so all it does if force people to waste bullets on you. Primary weapons always beat out a pistol. Hell, if you get shot in the back, this perk won’t activate that often because your characters falls forward. Shitty perk :arazz:
  • Eavesdrop- Most people don’t say anything useful anyway, so why bother?

I need tiers for the following RPG’s.

Shadow Hearts.

Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits.

Grandia 2.

I can help you as far as Shadow Hearts and Shadow Hearts: Covenant. SH:FtNW was a turd, so I wouldn’t know. Anyway

Shadow Hearts 1
Top

  • Yuri- Highest physical stats, versatile spell selection with Fusions, no really low stats, he has the easiest Judgment Ring = Best Character In The Game
  • Alice- She gets some decent attack spells later in the game, but her healing is crucial to victory. Unless you have a good reason, she should always be in the party.

Mid

  • Halley- He and Keith are tied IMO. Halley is a great character for random battles against tough enemies because he can cause status effects very easily with his ESP techniques and he’s probably the 2nd most versatile character after Yuri. He sucks in boss battles though due to status immunity.
  • Keith- Keith is a damage machine (not as good as Yuri though), plus he can heal himself with his blood sucking moves. Good stats, but his Ring can be awkward. I personally found Halley more useful, but Halley joins pretty late in the game, so Keith might be preferable
  • Zhuzhen- Great damage dealer against bosses, but he dies easily and is a horrible random battle character because he’s useless without a lot of MP. He stagnates a bit mid game due to Keith and Margarete being somewhat more useful when they join. Zhuzhen will suck if you ignore him too much in the mid game

Low

  • Margarete- Completely average stats and her skills aren’t that impressive compared to everyone else. She’s playable, especially since SH is easy, but she’s sadly the worst character in the game.

Shadow Hearts: Covenant
God Tier

  • Yuri- He’s even more bad ass than in SH1. He can deal the highest amount of damage quickly and he’s ultra-versatile with Fusions. He has a complete Judgment Ring and probably the easiest Ring in the game
  • Blanca- His damage dealing moves are dog shit (how ironic), but Blanca is the most versatile character in the game. His Physical and Magic Attack stats are passable, but he’s the best healer in the game with his Manifestations and Blanca is also the fastest party member. Don’t expect him to deal a lot of damage, but keep him in the party since he’s the support character of choice with the right Crests.

Top Tier

  • Kurando- His 2nd Fusion is good stuff, giving him good speed which is only bested by Blanca and the highest physical attack rating in the game. He sucks when he joins and joins very late in the game, but he’s one of the best physical attackers. His only serious weakness is his tough Judgment Ring, which will make him unusable if you don’t go out of your to master it.

Mid Tier

  • Anastacia- Her skills are all over the place, and are inferior versions of better characters’ moves for the most part. Her Album is also the 2nd biggest pain in the ass next to Blanca’s Wolf Bouts. She’s a decent mage with reasonable speed. She’s useful because she can steal good equipment from enemies and can wield Crests well
  • Lucia- A bit on the slow side with overall bad stats (except for Magic related stats), but she’s a good support character with her Aromatherapy skill. She’s hard to use, but nice unlike Rikku from FF10. Her Tarot cards are generally not worth the risk and she’s the worst random battle character (great for bosses though)
  • Karen- Most of her skills are Fire-based and her Magic stats are amongst the worst in the game. Many enemies have fire-resistance during the mid-game, but she gets some good equips later in the game and is probably the best combo character. She’s a pretty good physical attacker with passable speed.

Low Tier

  • Gepetto- He dies too damn easily and his Marionette skills become damn near useless. He’s so slow compared to Lucia and Anastacia, both who have better personal skills, so he deals less damage compared to them because he’s slow
  • Joachim- He has the highest physical stats, but he’s the worst character in the game. He doesn’t deal as much damage as Yuri or Kurando later in the game and his transformations are unreliable (some even detrimental). Did I mention that his Magic stats and Speed sucks too? At least you can find weapons for him so that you don’t have to waste much money on his sorry ass

I knew Yuri was number one in both games.

Being quite literally a god-like being, this is to be expected.

I loved Halley in the first SH.

My final party was Yuri, Alive and Halley.

The ending pissed me off, especially since I worked to get the good ending, but it wasn’t the “true” ending.

I’ve had a run with Arc the Lad Twilight one time and got through about 90% of it. But that was about 2 years ago. So, maybe one day I’ll go play the game again and do a tier list for it. Cuz if I tried to do one now, first, I’m fairly inexperienced with it, and 2nd, I forgot a lot of things.
