Tiers for non-fighting games?

FF tactics special characters tier list-Not that tiers matter in this game. Late-endgame is terribly unbalanced and anyone is pretty much viable to completely obliterate any enemy with almost no resistance if you’re playing right.

God: Orlandu/Reis
High:Beowulf/Ramza
Mid:Agrias
Mustadio
Low:Meliadoul
Worker 8

Bottom:Rafa

Ryu is actually mediocre in BoF 2, presuming you chose the carpenter that cooks. You can really abuse his stat gain food in order to max out attack stats. Ryu gets shafted by the chef because fusing is required to max out a character’s attack attribute, which means Ryu can’t max out his attack since he cannot fuse with Shamans. While Ryu is the best if you don’t abuse cooking, if you do abuse cooking, the BOF2 tiers are

S Tier (can max out attack with only 1 Shaman and are better in normal form)

  • Jean - He’s seriously the best character if you abuse cooking. If you max out his attack, he can easily wipe most enemy groups in the game with his Jab move if you give him the holy Shaman. His buffs aren’t useful, but he’s a beast in normal battles and he’s durable due to having great armor. He’s actually better if you leave him in his normal form with just the holy Shaman for the attack boost

  • Katt - She slightly worse than Jean due to not being as durable due to bad armor. If you use her Taunt skill (can’t remember what its called), then you’ll be able to 1-hit KO lots of shit and put a hurting on bosses with her counters, since she has the highest counter attack rate. She’s the best tank if you give her the devil Shaman and leave her in her normal form and spam her Taunt.

A Tier (characters that can max out their attack stat when transformed)

  • Sten
  • Spar
  • Bow - He’s the worst of the A Tier because he requires Shamans that allow Jean and Katt to wipe whole enemy groups, though if you transform him, his Shaman form can do an even better job wiping groups than normal Jean.

B Tier (decent characters that can’t max attack)

  • Ryu - Can only do max damage with G. Dragon, but can’t max attack normally. At least he can counter almost as often as Katt, though this should rarely happen if you spam Taunt with Katt to tank

  • Rand - Bad equipment gimps him, as well as the uselessness of healing magic at max stats

C Tier (ass characters in comparison)

  • Nina - Attack magic is ass with maxed attack on other characters, plus her best weapon prevents maxing out attack, even when transformed. The only thing that makes her better than Bleu is that her attack is better due to being able to fuse with Shamans

  • Bleu - No shamans and attack magic being useless = dead weight

I’m ok with this version of Ryu being average. Half breed scum imo.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2:
God Tier: Sonic
-E Tier: Tails

I know that, obviously. but to be fair, it’s been over a decade since I last played CT and all 4 playthroughs I had, that was the team I always took with me to the endgame. don’t like ayla since she only has 1 magic tech and even that isn’t an actual spell plus grinding for the bronze fist gets pretty boring. so crono/frog/magus is the team that does everything for me-- good magic, good physical damage, and okay healing. not the best, but it’s balanced.

of course, you can take anyone into the endgame to murder lavos but that’s the team I always preferred.

I think that is everyones team when they first play through Chrono Trigger to be honest.

I’ve played Chrono Trigger at least 20 times completely through and not once have I been able to bring myself to fight and kill Magus. Dude is just too cool to kill.

I’ve never had a team that didn’t consist of Ayla. Bitch is hot and hurts.

I have no problem killing Magus. I hate doing it sometimes but hey…if I want that route.

Let’s pretend you never posted that.

I’m going to assume you don’t approve of my tiers list for BOF2. That list assumes that the player abused the carpenter that cooks stat boosting food. Of course every character is good if you break the game by maxing out stats with the chef, but the tiers are still relative to the use of other characters. The tiers are totally different if you don’t use the chef to break the game.

Jean and Katt both get a 50% damage increase if you use only the Holy and Devil Shaman respectively and are much better in their base form due to their personal skills. The A-Tier are under Jean and Katt because they need 2 Shaman to get their better personal skill, but can still max out their attack (and in Bow’s case, precludes optimizing Jean and Katt’s performance) while the B-Tier can never max out their attack stats, even with food. Ryu can’t max out his attack because he can’t fuse with Shaman and Rand’s gear is just bad.

I know exactly what you’re talking about. What I’m saying that a tierlist based on maxing stats on consumables doesn’t mean anything because there’s nothing close in the game that requires that much maxing to get through. If you’re going to spend hours maxing every stat anyway then ANYONE in the game can make the challenge trivial.

BTW, Bleu can max out most of her stats without consumables anyway.

Anyone think they could conjure up a tier list for Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together? (The psp remake if it makes any difference.)

How many Team Fortress 2 Tiers have been made. Damn the new forums for their lack if a search thread function.

The game’s pretty balanced, but in comp play, some classes are just better overall than others. Let’s assume it’s standard 6v6 play, because Demomen can screw everything up, and Medics are just Medics:

A:
Soldier/Demoman
Scout

B:
Medic
Sniper
Heavy

C:
Pyro
Engineer
Spy

I’m sure this has been debated in this thread. Maybe it’s not fair to even make tiers for this game. Go ahead and provide criticism, because I’m probably wrong and haven’t payed close attention to the comp scene for a while. In unorganized and organized Pubs and PUGs/Highlander, everyone’s pretty even.

Made a list for Diablo 2 magic find characters, using the best spec possible for each class, based on Kill speed, amount of Magic Find gear they can wear and survivability with the best possible gear:

God:

Paladin (Hammerdin)

High:

Druid (Wind Druid)
Amazon (Javazon)

Mid:

Sorceress (Fire/Ice)
Assassin (Trapsin)

Low:

Necromancer (Minion)
Barbarian (Frenzy)

I think this is pretty close, sniper could be A tier and medic varies based on the size of the team, but in most pubs there aren’t a lot of good players so they gravitate towards the easymode classes like heavy, pyro and engineer, these classes aren’t actually that good and should get shut down by properly played demomen and soldiers, and i agree with spy being C tier because they shouldn’t get away with as much as they do in pubs.

Thousand Arms tiers anyone?

Yeah, Medic’s kind of a wildcard in that he depends on his teammates to be effective in return. As for Spy, the reason why he gets away with being so effective in Pubs is because they’re so chaotic, coupled with the fact that most Pubs have unaware players. But even on more organized/better Pubs with communication, Spies are dealt with pretty quickly. And in 6v6, they’re rarely, if ever, used, because why would you want to use him compared to the Scout, who accomplishes his job (single-target elimination) so much quicker and easier?

IIRC, Haborym was tops because of some kind of glitch where you could petrify enemies 100% of the time. I think Terror Knights should be high on the list for their special ability. Archers have ridiculous range in high places; you can go well beyond the visible range and hit your target.

It’s been a long time so I don’t remember how good/bad the other units are. I don’t think monsters in general were too useful. By the way, everything is based on the PS1 version…I’m still playing the remake.

Haven’t played the remake because I don’t have the PSP, but Haborym got neeeeeeeeeeeeeeerfed hardcore in that game.

The tiers are probably radically different because of the new classes and gameplay features.
