Man srk can whine about anything, most of you don’t even like this game. So what if it’s 2 on 2? That should be the format, its interesting, faster, and it’s the best feature of this game. If you don’t like it why not just play sf4?
Also those complaining about not being tagged in? As long as you have bar and your partner can hit them you can tag yourself in.
Just run a 1v1 SFxT side tourney at EVO. Not being on the main stage doesn’t mean you can’t play and if you think 2v2 was a bad choice, prove it by making the 1v1 side tourney hype as fuck.
Fuck, if I go to EVO I’m going to enter KoF XIII and a bunch of side tourneys for other games like 3S, GG, Skullgirls, and VF5FS.
Also, gambling.
I think it should be fun to watch and more fun for the players. I see nothing wrong with the 2v2 format

I find it cool from a spectating point of view but what about the players who dont have a partner? Or just dont need one because they enjoy playing TWO characters?

simply finding a partner is easier said than done , spesh if you don’t have a scene or nobody from your country is traveling , practicing online with this netcode won’t end well at all

Have you seen Clanky D play this game 2v2? The dude does some serious ball hogging. There were sets were his partners didn’t even get tagged in. While it usually steamrolled through his opponents in those games but I feel bad for the his partner as he’s pretty much in the role of cheerleader most of the time.
look at it like this, this is the first fighting game that encourages social activity

That doesn’t change the fact that some people aren’t team players and prefer playing a lone. Or they may have trouble finding someone who will fully compliment their playstyle. Or who just plain don’t wanna play with a partner. Forcing players to do 2v2 is stupid especially since it’s a main game. They should make it optional instead of forcing players to have to play in a certain way.
I’m not complaining. 1v1 is boring as fuck in the game’s current state.
If you think the game is boring, go play/watch marvel and get hype over abc level 3 xfactor herp derp 10 hit comebacks. honestly 2v2 isn’t going to make the game anymore hype or less painful to watch (if you already think it is). it’s just going to shorten the time of the tournament and alienate players who don’t like depending on their partners for wins. If you don’t like watching/playing sfxt now odds are you’re not going to like watching/playing it when 2v2 starts.
Unless of course seeing 4 players before and after the match is more hype then seeing 2 players then yes it would make sfxt more interesting.
I find it hard to believe having 2 people will make the game faster, considering it’s far easier to coordinate your own movements than movements with another player.
The gameplay will suffer as a result of 2v2. The drama, hype, uniqueness, will not. Which do you prefer? for me it’s the former
I mean, i’m stoked about this game. I’d like to play it on a legit serious level, not a sideshow like it would be with 2v2. an exciting sideshow nonetheless.
That’s why I hope that the Cannons and wiz can change it to 1v1 b2/3 rounds, and have an exhibition 2v2 8 team tourney or something. Or just forget about it and keep it 1v1 b2/3.
It’s number of people that they’re considering probably not the actual game speed itself. I think 1v1 is totally feasible time-wise but the game needs the big damage being done.
At least the matches in UMvC3 don’t last for 10 years.
But real talk, there is nothing hype about this game whatsoever. And I’m certainly not the only person who thinks that.

I want this game to work, but right now, it’s just a complete snorefest. At least in 2v2 mode you can be entertained by team mates raging at each other for stupid mistakes.
i feel like the some of the SRK and Evo people have a chip on their shoulder about this game.
Mr. Wizard announced gems would be banned before the game was even released, which tells me they were pissed about gems from the get-go (understandable)
2 weeks ago, Wakeup SRK and UltraChen spent their back-to-back episodes basically trashing the game for 2 hours
At WNF & NCR, UltraChen was pretty blatant with their feelings about the game, then followed it up with more comments on twitter
and now we have this super early 2v2 announcement, which is a pretty big indicator they don’t view it as a serious game. I mean, the gem thing is fine (although i wish they would’ve at least waited til the tournament DLC came out), but the 2v2 ruling is a very bold statement imo.
it’s basically like saying “we don’t even care enough about this game to find out which single player is the best”
