I can’t wait for SF4. There may be some fragmentation, but I also think there’s gonna be a lot of folks like myself who will treat SF4 for what it is: a different game. The gameplay won’t be the exact same, so there will still be the appeal of pure old school 2-D perfection to keep me coming back to STIIHDR, as well as enjoying 4.
But the issues with STIIHDR online have GOT TO BE ADDRESSED. Backbone needs to grow one and fix this crap. I’m sick of “A player left or was disconnected” messages when I’M THE ONLY ONE IN THE FRIGGIN’ ROOM!!
Although XBL is better than PSN, the connection issues don’t affect me enough to hate the coding. For the most part, it works well for me, excluding the start of matches.
the set up online is horrible indeed… you hardly have options you ket kicked back to start if something doesnt work right, and you cant filter the ping. It is a really really really horrible online setup. The interface sucks. The menus look cool, but the menu themselves are horrible.
another thing that would be cool online, would be a tag option (like tekken tag that is) so that you can have local 2 vs. online 2
I brought some other shit to do, sat down, and tried to get an online game for one whole hour. I managed to start one game during that entire time, and it lost the connection during the second round. One round out of that whole time, out of an entire hour. The rest was all disconnects and errors.
My internet connection can be pretty ghetto but I know it’s workin’ just fine right now! This is alllll Backbone SFHD shit.
I love SFHD to bits, but when you live a day’s drive away from your nearest competition, having this many problems online will make a dude switch back to vanilla ST just because GGPO and 2DF actually work when you want them to. They absolutely need to patch.
(sigh) ppl still think is psn. why dont u try another game and see if the same shit happens. its the game and not psn. this game is the only one i have trouble with online. all the others r flawless
The more I play this game the more I wish that I had never purchased the game. If I had released an application this buggy to my clients, I would’ve been fired a long time ago. From a developer point of view, it is plain irresponsible to release a game to the public with this much bugs while knowing there probably would never be a patch or fix for the bugs. I should apply for a job with backbone, need job security in this economy…:wgrin:
The fact that this game was postponed, postponed again, then beta tested, then postponed again after beta, and it still is loaded with glitches and bugs, is truly marvelous.
If SFIV has half of the glitches that this game does I’ll be thoroughly impressed.
I don’t possibly see how this game can be allowed at EVO. The less attention and success given to this game the better.
Is it not possible to upgrade your internet? i get maybe 1 or two disconnects per hour, max. Sometimes none. The game doesn’t work well with weak internet connections or when playing someone with a ping >150… that’s all. shoddy net code for sure, but not really an issue if your connection is good and you don’t join rooms >150ping.
I rarely get any connectivity issues, I’m actually pretty surprised how well the online play works in SFHD.
It’s pretty bare bones, but lag as well as disconnects are minimal on my end, which is all I really wanted out of online multiplayer. Although it would be nice if they could fix the rating bug sometime soon.
Thats news to me because I can land pretty much anything in training mode. I’m not too familiar with Vanilla ST, but I can land combos with supers pretty consistently along with everything else in between.
