This Game is Horrible...Online

Is it possible for one player to have lag and it not to effect the other? There are matches I play when everyone is teleporting and there are tons of rollbacks, yet the other person can pull out “reversals” like it is nothing. I doubt they would be able to do a reversal if they were seeing my screen.

FYI: I’m on PSN and on a wireless connection (sadly).

Who’s claiming that the PS3 version is dropping inputs? SF2HD plays much tighter than CCC2; it really is the cleanest, best version of the SF2 series…offline. Online, there are:

-Lag (especially seems to manifest during intended slowdowns)
-Dropped frames (which can lead to dropped inputs, but this is not console exclusive)
-Random disconnects

I would have paid $20 for a polished version of this game; as-is, I’m about one stress-induced migraine short of quitting this game altogether. It’s a travesty that such an esteemed and anticipated title got released to the public in such a state. One game’s great; the next ten are a farce. There are definitely issues with the offline coding as well, but again, the gameplay itself is smooth as silk at least. SF2 is still an amazing game, thank you Capcom and company. Backbone…the word amateur is all that comes to mind.

It is not PSN itself. Warhawk, for example, plays perfectly and it is also on PSN. Play Warhawk, perfect. Play SF2, crap. Play Warhawk, again perfect. Play SF2, again crap. Capcom is hosting SF2, and they are not hosting Warhawk. Capcom’s hosting is the problem. If it were a PSN issue, other PSN games would be affected.

It’s PSN. Warhawk has the benefit of dedicated servers. HD Remix does not. Warhawk also has the benefit of numerous server side patches which helped it a lot because if you remember when it first came out it was crap online and took about a half hour just to get into a game. Very annoying for me personally because I’m a huge warhawk fan.

I use the same connection for my PS3/360. I play the same game on said connection(HD Remix). I get more drops and more online problems on the PS3 version. No opinion here, that is fact. Can’t complain though PSN is free after all.

Warhawk plays fine for me on non-dedicated servers as well. Perhaps a better example would be Age of Booty, which is made by Capcom. No disconnects, no problems. Nothing like disconnect after disconnect attempting to get a one-on-one quickmatch, random error codes, complete system lockups after character selection (proving that a link was established), black-screened opponents, etc. I can even lock up my PS3 100% of the time simply by attempting to view the Friends tab of the SSF2T Remix Scoreboard! I’d blame Sony without reservation if I thought it were their fault, but the fact that every other game I play on PSN works fine seems to vindicate them.

I think 360 one is definitely OK as long as you play with people reasonably close and not from the other side of the world.

I play random scoreboard matches almost exclusively, seems to have much better results than friendly. I don’t play rooms.
