I think putting Doom first against Strider is extremely terrible. The risk of your Doom is too great to be doing that. If you lose Doom, then you basically have such a huge disadvantage that it’s not even funny. Besides you have no helpful assists against strider like that. On the otherhand, putting Strider first or Sentinel would make thing descent.
As for Felicia, I don’t think she counters Strider. I would say Cable and Storm are better, even Sentinel rather then Felicia.
I think that doom can do well vs strider because,
SJ + fly with Photon + hp(beam) keeps strider at bay.
Just like storm he makes strider waste his bar for orbs that wont do anything. IF strider tries to SJ and hit you with orbs, just shoot hp photon, then fly up some more at top of screen and photon again, getting most of the screen.
Yes there is always a chance to lose doom and be left with strider/?. If your not too confident with doom then just have a diff battery like storm.
And whats wrong with felicia? Nothin wrong with low tier :karate:
Doom’s fly is too slow, he can get warped on. Beam can be stoped by an assist giving Strider time to start orbs. If Doom goes up you can warp under him and jump up blocking anything and if he does the photon super you can push block and double jump up to knock him down. Doom can get most of the screem except under him when Strider can easily punish Doom if Doom is cought doing photons while Strider is there. Doom just doesn’t cut it in this case. He can get annoying, but the outcome is most likley clear.
Nothing wrong with low tier, just Felicia. She can’t take hits as her deffence sucks as much as Strider. So Strider can pretty much beat Felicia to the hit with his far more superior quickness and mobility. Once she’s down, he can activate orbs. Basically Felicia can’t do anything to you if you just sit there and block so you can call sent jump/double jump around all day waiting to get her blocking or hit.
You should definitely use Storm. Better battery, better runaway, and you don’t risk losing your very vital assist. Your kind of suggesting a scenario similar to putting Commando on point to build meter for Cable.
Felicia’s sand super is a bitch to deal with. If you have the drones assist, she’s not the big of a deal. But she can punish even a litlle bit of carelessness in the start-up of your trap.
You don’t even need the trap to beat Felicia. As long as you know what can get punished and when the sand splash can punish you, you’ve basically no reason to lose to Felicia.

It doesn’t matter however you airdash. Strider can double jump and throw rings. Don’t forget Doom lags his moves and rings go through photons. There are more then enough ways to get Doom’s big slow ass down and flying makes it worst. once you see Doom do a photon you can warp under him, so it isn’t a good idea. He’ll end up in the corner eventually (if Strider doesn’t knock him down yet)and thats it for him.
Why would anyone use Felicia, Storm when you can use Sentinel, Storm?
Again Felicia doesn’t have anything over Strider except for the sandsplash which is simply avoidable. You can use drones+bomb to start orbs or drones+bird either way they connect and hurt Felicia. Any mistake Felicia makes she can also lose alot because of her trash defence. Once Felicia is in the trap, she can’t do anything. Storm assist for her won’t make any difference. If she calls storm and does sandsplash you dash up with AC or reset with is really costly for Felicia.
well, both doom and felicia can threaten strider if they have two things
if they dont have both of those, strider is running right through them. doom/storm/AA is very dangerous team for strider to fight, but there isnt many good dooms out there anymore

I don’t hate low tier, I’m just telling you whats the truth. Most of the time Doom is really great, just not against Strider. I believe in haveing a good Doom to better my team which I do. I consider Doom high in tier and his weakness being rushdown. Now, Where does it say I hate low tier? or are you just assuming that? I said Felicia and Doom can’t beat Strider thats all. I did say it can be annoying. Strider/Doom isn’t a team where Doom should be first either.
Basically what Devil X said is true as also any dharacter with those two things can be dangerous(taking away what Felicia and Doom already have)which brings us to team dynamics which is a whole other story. Felicia was a theory to begin with. It works in some cases, but I doubt really good Strider players will lose to it. I’ve played good Felicia’s and once you get use to the minor handycap, you won’t lose.
I still say Cable is more of a danger and Storm.

Last month(end of agst), and a darn good Felicia too. Alot of times I run into Felicia’s and they don’t pick her for counter, thats their normal character. If you know what your dealing with you won’t lose. Doom, I play against my friend all the time, he uses Doom/Sent/Cyke.
heres something ive been hitting people with who tag in vs me while i have strider on the screen (people do this alot since strider doesnt do too much damage )
using team clock
someone tags in, i block and call sent drones, jab, strong, d+forwardXXouroboros.
if your back is all the way to the edge of the screen, only do jab , strongXXouro. if youre over half way past the screen, use jab,short,strong, d+forward.
the timing on this is alittle tricky, takes some practice. after you activate super, the drones should combo because stuff on the screen moves during the super freeze. always cancel the super from a standing or ducking strong, or ducking forward. standing forward doesnt work. now after you activate the super, drones hit, then throw out a pair of rings with jab and dash in and it combos. the timing to throwing out the orbs is a split second delay, dont immediately start throwing rings when you activate or it’ll combo too soon and wont allow you to dash up since you can throw rings a split second before you can even move.
also remember, call drones first then start to combo, dont press them together.
after you run up and tack on some hits, its about 70 points damage and then orbs end and you follow up with whatever mix up or combo after that for even more pain

When people tag in on me, I just go straight for orbs. Depending on the situation, I usually do one of the following:
Toward the end of orbs, call Sent or Storm’s assist and dash so as to push them into the corner.after you dash and the drones are done hitting: jab, strong, launch, and we all know what to do after that.
Toward the end of orbs, teleport + Doom. Come down from the teleport with fierce, roundhouse. Rocks send them into your fierce and the roundhouse send them back into the rocks. It should all combo up to the roundhouse. If you have another bar, after the roundhouse when you hit the ground, you can go straight into the orbs again. :nunchuck: Getting the second round of orbs to combo is hella hard to do, so I generally just trap.
When I land the orbs, I wave dash all the way to the corner. The orbs don’t do all that much damage when you do this, but then you can set up the OTG roundhouse combo and go for the corner trap. And if you’re really awesome like me, you’ll mess up that combo EVERY TIME YOU TRY TO DO IT! :crybaby:
at the end of orbs, jab, strong, launch teleport + Doom and go for the airthrow into rocks.
If the orbs don’t combo, when they tag in, you can always go for the trap. BTW, the first and last combo are from Clockw0rk vids.
try this one with orbs, opponent has to be standing while youre hitting them . as the orbs are ending and the bar is near the word (time) do jump uf +jab (rings)+ doom. you jump over them and doom hits them towards you. then as theyre in the air, do a jump fierce and hit them back into the rocks, and they bounce towards you again. from there you can cross them up on the ground , or air throw, or sj combo them. or do short bombXXouro for more trapping. or anything you want really, since after someone hits the doom assist they cant call an assist of their own as theyre bouncing in the air : P heheh

hmmm. I’m finding your combo is easier than mine but I like mine more because it seems to make it a little easier to trap them afterwards. You can conect a jab, strong after orbs are over so that means you can teleport and call doom when you hit the strong. The rocks bounce them and you send them down w/ Fierce, roundhouse. They’ll be eating their second helping of rocks when you hit the ground giving you time to go straight for orbs. you don’t even need to cancel an animal first making it unlikely you’ll mess up and Ragnarok. They’ll hopefully be in blockstun when you activate orbs the second time. You’ll barely do any damage if you hit the second string and they’ll dizzy out of it.
i thnk that iceman is best for S/D, because of his abilities. one is that he doesn’t get damaged by projectiles, that’s a plus fightin cable and the other is his chipping qualities which continues the theme of the entire team, which is to chip yur opponent to death. the bad things about iceman is that he is too predictable and slows the team a bit. But it doesn’t need to be a bad thing, slow down the game but still keep your opponent locked down, and give you control of the fight. what do you guys think?
