Things That Annoy You About Fighting Games and the People that Play Them

Seriously xes, you should do yourself a favor and stop posting dumb shit, or at least give it more thought before posting it.
I am pretty sure that the people here knows what you tried to say, but your choose of examples are totally out of place, since those 2 have made and are still making a lot of good shit for their community and the FGC in general.
You want to talk about shit the the community doesn’t need right?, what about the people who always talks about like stuff that doesn’t know or understand well enough like you on many occasions?

Mike Watson isn’t an example of an “FG Personality”. He is an example of an amazing player who has contributed to the community more than 99.99% of people on this site.

An example of something you are trying to explain would be Maximillian. Because he is ass and still famous for making videos.

I don’t like that treating people with hostility is considered a virtue.

This isn’t the case everywhere, and is certainly less of an issue at events, but this online community can be many times more abrasive and needlessly nasty than any other online community I participate in (even for other fighting games).

Make up your mind.

He was relevant in that game when he was playing…and for someone that supposedly “wasn’t even a good 3S player”, he made the US look pretty free…not to mention him and Kokujin won SBO for third strike.

Eh that’s not what happened at all. If anything, he proved that with very little playing and not even much competition in his area, he would put up quite a fight and make some epic matches. Fanatiq also barely beat Daigo in a FT3 or FT5 set, how did that happen?

Korea, how? Just because Infiltration wins Evo? What happened to Korea now at Canada Cup? What was expected. Daigo (and Japan) has always been relevant in SF4 and Japan is still the best, not Korea. If it even was the case that Infiltration was better (which he isn’t), he is just one player from Korea and doesn’t represent the country as a whole.

At the same time, just because there are people better than Infiltration, doesn’t mean he should be ignored as a player…but you seem to think Daigo should be. I think you’re obviously jealous of his recognition.

So because there exists ShootingD, people should forget about Daigo? We should also not praise Wong because he wasn’t as dominant as he was in MvC2? Where is your logic???

I hate idiots like you.

People who can’t play 3rd Strike because they don’t know how to learn…

as if it was something difficult to do

w/e holmes.

SRK… Always bitching about one thing or the other. Shit gets old real fast

Bitching about a bitching thread in a bitching thread.

I think we’ve just reached singularity.

… You should not even be talking.

Can I also say that anyone who uses the word “scrub” unironically is incredibly annoying to me?

Like most epithets, it has been bandied around so much that it’s meaningless. Now it’s just “person I don’t like”.

[LIST]
[]There’s a severe lack of Rival Schools.
[
]Games that deliberately make their games execution-heavy, for no other reason than to be “deep.” VF5 for the most part doesn’t do this, and it’s one of the deepest games around.
[]Performing lengthy combos that usually aren’t worth it due to heavy damage scaling. If I made the effort, then I should be rewarded; if it means that the opponent gets KOed quickly, then so be it. It’s on him not to get hit.
[
]Calling Smash a “party game” or “not a fighting game” is somehow an insult. That’s what it was designed to be. Doesn’t make it any less fun to play.
[
]The fact that the SFEX games get no respect, even though the series have made significant contributions to the genre.
[
]Players who try to use every character in matches. Either they’re experimenting, or they think they’re good with everyone. I always tend to think it’s the latter, and find it especially irritating in VF5.
[]Jacky players who try to somersault their way out of everything. You can tell they’re doing it because of the distinct sound effect it makes.
[
]In-depth tutorials not being standard. I believe the way to increase a game’s accessibility is to not withhold information. Having some game elements hidden is a good game design choice for noncompetitive games. It’s not something that should be done in fighting games where you want to know everything that’s possible in the combat system.

I get annoyed that so many players ignore the characters that are harder to learn. Then you end up playing against the same characters over and over again.

Your point 2 is sexy.

Your point 3 is incorrect, as even a poorly made fighter is still a fighter, but that’s a semantics argument that’s less important than the fact that Smash fucking sucks.

Your point 5 is odd. It shouldn’t bother you if someone else wants to try multiple characters. This is coming from a guy who likes to stick to a few, or to one.

This is more a symptom of the real problem, and that’s “C. Viper design.”

Someone said the S word? Here we go.

lag

Can you elaborate on this? I never bothered learning SF4 because I didn’t find it fun.

Pretty much twitch.tv chat

This point is somehow interesting, because so far, i have never seen a single game that is too difficult to learn or is so execution heavy that barely someone can play it
Games like MVC2 or GG that are usually some of the examples that many people like to throw , have a ton of shit that is piss off easy to do.

He thinks that having characters that are designed for a specific group of people who actually likes to expend time on learning how to use a character due to execution requirements is a bad thing, imo that is akin of hating grappler characters or zoning characters just because you don’t like them
I can agree that if all the cast is made like that, then you “have the right” to complain but then again, that is like complaining about the A cup bras being to small for your Double D bust
Sometimes we just need to accept that not every character/game is made to cater to our tastes.
