Good players that go psycho on me just because I managed to beat them once.
It doesn’t have to “break the game”, it just needs to have out of whack risk/reward. Moves can generally be evaluated on stuff like how safe they are (combination of how fast the move is to come out, and how much (dis)advantage it has on hit/block/whiff), how “strong” they are (basically how much damage they lead into and how much space they control) with a dose of “other stuff” (Like if a move is invulnerable at startup, or passes through projectiles, or whatever). Moves that have too strong a combination of these things need to be nerfed. There are lots of ways a move can be “too good” and lots of ways to fix it so that it is “merely good” and it requires a deft touch. The problem with Capcom hasn’t been that they nerfed things, per se, but that they set the bar too low and nerfed things that were already “merely good”. Of course, lots of companies are guilty of that from time to time (Lookin’ at you Arc Sys. I shall not forget BBCS Tsubaki).
Ah, don’t remind me of BBCS. My poor poor Noel. And then CS2 came out and I laughed with joy, and CSX came out and I was relieved she was “changed” instead of nerfed. Wall-bouncing Assault Through is a thing of beauty.
On disk dlc.
DLC that effects gameplay and isn’t a full revision, when one player has a larger character select screen or more character modifiers then the other it’s bull****, play to win has gone out of the window and pay to win has it’s ugly foot in the door **** that mess.
When a company who has the rights to use GGPO still decide to use their own ****ty home grown netcode on a game thats been on GGPO for years.
Fifa getting in at SvB instead of another fighting game.
People wanting either the strategy or execution to be removed from fighting games, go play guitar hero or chess depending on what you want to drop, fighting games should always have both.
Scrubs constantly pushing for “random only” because they can’t be arsed to learn the game.
I seriously don’t see the big deal with on disc DLC. If it’s meant to be DLC, then it’s meant to be DLC. If it makes it so I only have to download a 50 meg file instead of a 2 gig one, that’s fine by me.
So it’s ok because they intended to rip you off from the start, lol.
Seriously when dlc was introduced it was for new content to be made and sold later on, not for scummy developers to lock away chunks of the game you bought to have you pay again for it later.
I just hope more people will stop giving developers money for that ****, maybe a few more SFxT style receptions (ie. widespread hatred and reduced sales) and we can bury it forever.
When someone posts a thread that’s been posted a million times before.
That no other game is as good as 3rd Strike.
New Capcom fighters.
Eventscrubs posting tool assisted videos, PC mods, and multiple Maximillian videos. Not that I hate Max but come on.
Eventscrubs and SRK posting the same exact news…
Bad grammar.
And Slenderman. I just don’t get it.
DLC is DLC, does it really matter at all HOW you get it or where it is? No, because you get it the same way regardless. And if you think developers aren’t going to be a little scummy when they’re trying to make money, then you’re a little bit naive on it. Business has always been trying to do the easiest way of making money. DLC was out to squeeze a bit extra out of a game and avoid the full effort of making a sequel, and “On Disc DLC” is simply having the DLC already be done when the game is out so that there’s no delay from their estimated release date for it and they can get that extra bit of money ASAP. Companies are in it to make money, and if a few people complain that it’s a ripoff because their DLC is in a different package than what they’re used to, they really won’t give a shit.
Also, I am not a fan of the people that whined that they should have been allowed to go into EVO free, or even for the reduced rate.
People are willing to pay the airlines and hotels plenty, but then want to nickel-and-dime the community organizers… Classy
There are plenty of companies which aren’t “a little scummy” when trying to make money, there is absolutely no reason to give money to developers who are being scummy with it and whilst it has taken people a long time and we went down the entire slippery slope from costumes to characters from the looks of the SFxT sales (cannibalism my arse) people are slowly coming round seeing this bull**** and saving their money for companies which don’t employ these practices.
The idea that stuff completed and on the disk by the time a game goes gold is “extra” and deserves another price tag is freaking laughable, go back a generation and all that **** was unlockable through gameplay, hell look to companies not ****ing around with on disk dlc today and it still is.
Assets being on disk doesn’t mean the same thing as completed characters on disk.
With DLC people need to decide… except for the concept, which people find offensive, putting as much content on disk is better for everybody… faster patch download, less disk space used. Beyond that, if DLC is being done properly you are well on your way to finishing the first batch by the time the game is being released, otherwise you’re running a big risk of people losing interest and not buying any of it.
Given that a lot of the asset work is done already, and given that its a superior way to deliver those same assets, the problem seems mental at best.
If you’re against quick DLC in general that’s fine, but ‘on disk’ or ‘not on disk’ is a red herring.
Defensive playstyles
I know, “play to win” but I cant help but be annoyed by it
Not everyone coming around to it. Mass Effect 3 was released on that same date and it had even scummier DLC practices. Not only did was “From Ashes” locked on the disc, it also contain a important character to the game’s plot and other essential background story info. All for the sake of day 1 DLC. Went in knowing this and still sold over 1 mil on month one. That’s not counting exclusive DLC you get by buying Dr. Pepper, completing the iOS tie-in game, buying a Liara statue, etc. We still got a long way.
Nut riders.
Whether it’s Daigo, Damdai, Justin, or who the fuck ever.
except that IS hype
Nutriding people that aren’t even any good/significant is even worse.
“Don’t you know who that is?!?!?!?!?!?!”
mmm but what about the girls? most of them get undue fame proportional to their skill, but pointing that out makes you misogynist
/meme
ITS A TRAP!

Sexism is one of those discussions that makes everyone hate everyone.
You’re either a misogynist or a white knight, no exceptions.
I can’t get GGPO to work so I am Vsav-less at the moment.
- People who say Cammy’s ass is big. Stop kidding yourselves.
- Online community. It’s ridiculous all the people who pride themselves in winning in that environment.
- People who post Mugen videos of themselves playing alone, especially when its mismatch characters. A shoto with 1000 moves and every CVS2 mechanic vs. Tizoc. Really?
- People who compare fighting game music (hell, any VGM) to Sonic and Megaman. Get off those blue nuts and go listen to some 90s hits.
- Scrubs who think certain archetypes should die out cause they don’t like them.
- People who make opinions on games they hardly play and compare them to games they play religiously.
- When low level players speak ill of a higher player’s skill. That’s like saying $5,000 dollars is not a lot of money when you’re dead broke.
- People who play small fragile characters and talk shit about the bigger, stronger characters that eat away at their lifebar like its nothing. Got Vitality?
- The SF4 community: How they say it’s the best game of the era yet they hate on so many aspects about the game, kicking characters from Endless lobbies and complaining about losing to mashers.
- The KOF community: How some of them seem to think they’re unique snowflakes and that nobody have played or heard of the series in the states until now.
- The Tekken community: This mentality that players should never use more than half the moves in the command list cause they’re considered “useless.” Only moves I can give that title to are taunts that do nothing.
- The SFxT community: How some of them are quick to pass everyone who share their dislikes of the game as bandwagon haters, even now.
The MVC3 community: The fact that so many people still play this game even when the online is shit, Wesker is stupid good (especially online), it’s still got time-out glitches and X-factor makes them salty. Isn’t the netcode one of the main reasons why many people opted out on KOFXIII?
The Skullgirls community: For thinking everyone who doesn’t want to play a game centered around young girls and panty shots have “insecurity issues”. Does your co-worker(s) know you [S]love[/S] play this game?
