lol we posted like the same matches
Great minds think alike.
Should also probably be pointed out I didn’t even know of EVO until post EVO 2009, so the first I saw any of was EVO 2010.
Yipes took fourth place in 2k10 with Psylocke…
Just sayin… :-/
But yeah, honestly if you came into the scene then you’d be very right to think about the tiers in that way. I think Clock was the only non “Storm/Sent/AAA” or “MSP” team that year.
Justin - Storm/Sent/Clops
Sanford Storm/Sent/Cable
Clock - Strider/Sent/Doom
Yipes - MSP
Neo - Thrax
Crizzle - MSP
Catigb3 - Thrax
Some other Thrax player I never heard of. Robert Tim?
Sanford used Thrax a few matches too and I think he used Scrub… I remember Skisonic like, “I didn’t even realize he was using team scrub!”
in 2010 megaman steve almost beat fanatiq at SBR with megaman/blackheart/cable
we saw clock vs neo
potter ripped through alot of people at SBR with scrub
aside from that, mvc2 just wasnt streamed much
side note: on preppys site theres a match duc v sanford in evo 09 (year sanford won) duc wins first game, could have just chipped out sanford’s commando in last seconds of second game, sanford wins barely. proceeds to stomp the shit out of duc next and last match. Duc could have taken sanford out in 09 and won his second evo
Failure to adapt.
That’s one of the things I like about it.

and the end is upon us!
The mvc2 balance argument is old and done. Everybody knows the answer, its just that how they present it is filtered through how they want to present the game
Yeah, that’s fine and I get and respect that. Sausage and Nickguy’s responses gave me a pretty good idea on things and more than the answer I was expecting. They seem like remarkably calm and rational Marvel guys if nothing else, lol.
Book or Movie? :B
Lol, both it is!
LMAO indeed.
I know the game’s imbalanced as fuck. Tournament results DO prove that. It just bothers me when people claim that nobody BUT the top tiers are useful. The game’s a lot of fun if you’re not looking to win massive amounts of dollars.
WHat i dislike about Marvel 3.
The way combos work just fucks up the pace of the match. I don’t even know how but they just feel like a stop button. MvC2 had the combos keepin that momentum from the simple air combo supers down to Iron man refly loops and rejump infinite. Guilty Gear also kept its momentum, from the shory 3-6 hit combos, to the meter eating long frc combo loops I had the same problem with blazblue’s pacing when caught in a combo, less so, but it still felt extremely shitty. Chrono phantasma looks like it has an amazing pace tho. What is it that i am noticing between these games?
you are not alone there.
characters can dash and move around so quick but then they land a hit and the combos are almost in bullet time
Stupid decision to give everyone slow movement, resulting in you having to wait while Doom tri-jumps in for a relaunch.
Just TTT2. Not even a bit interested in SFxT.
When there obvious bullshit like Viola and general game changes I don’t like and I’m not seeing Namco doing anything about it. Yeah its a good reason.
When “hype” and self promotion are a bigger factor in deciding a players popularity before in-game skill. I’m happy to see fighters getting popular, but there is a real danger of keeping up with the latest lingo (which is pretty terrible and out dated considering the emphasis we put on it) takes precedence over winning. It just seems very League of Legends to me.
Why would I want to show off ignorance that’s not even my own?
(zing!)
It wasn’t even about Viola specifically. Honestly I didn’t even want her banned. I’m all about broken shit (I wanted Namco to keep Hwoarang’s unblockable setup) But it was obvious it splitting the community and the only way to fix that was if Namco came in a patched the game because the SC community wasn’t gonna resolve the issue. And there were other gameplay oriented things I didn’t like that made me not want to play the game and I just lost interest because I knew nothing was gonna change.
