The Warhammer Universe Ultimate Thread

what risk is there in playing video games? Oh there are no risks, so you might as well not play.

Bad reasoning is bad.

Rest of your post is rendered irrelevant by this.

^Ask a lot of people who HAVE died playing videogames, I’m sure they’d love to dispute your stupid ass, if they could talk that is -_-. But that’s not the risk he’s talking about, but I just wanted to show there is real life risks to doing something too much like there is anything else. Anyways. why are you trolling up the Warhammer thread? The WoW thread is there for you.

All those people were going to die anyway. PS warhammer sucks and is for gays and sucks

This ^

case closed.

Good job you fucking douche, guess what? Warcraft ripped off Warhammer. Go kill yourself.

Still sucks way more.

Haha, don’t forget the last 100 yrs of fictional writing. The entire WoW mythology is a bastardized collection of other peoples original work.

Cthun? Cthulu. The Sundering? The Silmarilion. Demons? Space Aliens!! lol.

Oh, good job at netology for topic dodging by changing the focus to real life.
Yea, I am always afraid of drowning when I play WoW. Just like when I go surfing.
I may get carple syndrom too. I was’nt talking about the risk of losing hours of gameplay though. No, losing everything you played for…that wasnt the risk I was talking about…

lol who cares about stories in mmos?

you want a good story? read a book

dhalism i simply owned ur idea that you need risk to have fun solid gameplay.

it’s like saying you’ll only have sex without a condom because safe-sex doesn’t have enough risk, so its pointless…

if something is actually fun and has quality, risk is irrelevant.
Risk is what people trumpet when their activity, is by itself crappy, and without risk there would be no point to do it. Like some stupid extreme sport where you get an adrenaline rush simply by thinking you might die at any moment…

either make a new argument or stfu.

warhammer online fails.

You know what, I am not arguing with this logic. I actually had a decent reply written up but your so stupid I am going to let this quote speak for itself.

Read BEWD’s comment 7 posts up. The argument was up there and you missed it entirely. Don’t think your smart by pretending the topic was somthing other than it was either. It doesnt fool anyone and you just look stupid. go fail more.

It makes perfect sense. nigga just blew your fuckin mind open.

^ so what exactly do you gain, by coming into a warhammer thread, to somehow stroke your E-peen so that your failed existence has meaning? pat yourself on the back you’ve accomplished shit. feel better? as if your slander campaign will stop people from getting the game? you should focus on better things like trying to convince the human population on this planet that your a “Straight” Male.

btw your argument is retarded, 8 million subscribers doesn’t mean the game is absolute perfection. Gaming is always going to be a preference choice. there are still Millions of other gamers who dont play MMO’s at all fucktard.

Wow made a game that anyone can pick up and play even monkeys as you have proven. They chose addictive components such as making an interface that anyone can edit, offered raiding options or pvp options, a wide variety in quests and so forth, and lots of interesting rewards. there are plenty of Easy mode features in the game. Lets talk about leveling for instance, i can “Not” log into the game for 2 fucking weeks and Tadaa i get a bar and a half of “Rested” xp.

There are still plenty of flaws. Wow creates elites clownshoe fucks, who have to manage a guild like a legitimate business. Guilds in this game are like small corporations that require a dickhole at the top. The guilds that wow spawn are fucking horrible because they sit there and bitch about you for being late to a raid, or you gotta dedicate X amount of hours to “Attempt” to down a boss. the fucking loot tables are garbage. Oldschool games back in the day used to have guilds to create a comradeship type of gameplay. But in wow guilds you deal with “Guild” Drama which i never dealt with before until i played wow.

None of these games play like wow and look at the charts. One of them is a free game too.
http://gigaom.com/2007/06/13/top-ten-most-popular-mmos/
that should already tell you that if anyone tries to clone wow its not going to make you much money. Look at that shit? Runescape? see any badass quests in there? see risky pvp in there? there isnt a damn thing appealing about it yet there are millions of users on it. Your like the real life Nostradamus. you can predict JACK SHIT!

But you simply fail at the fact cannot see, that this game is not everyones cup of tea. IF we went based off of video game sales like your stupid argument, thats like saying Madden is the greatest game ever because it fucking sells X amount of copies.

“pvp, it has rvr,” -which is entire realms killing each other you dumb shit. Thats PvP on a constant massive scale. There is already an expectation of not having to complete any quests and going straight to level cap just “Killing” other players.

how fucking tight is that? does wow offer that? NO so please take your head out of your ass cause you really dont know what the fuck your talking about.

SInce all you can do to refute dhalsim is attack him personally, let me shut you the fuck up with a new factoid. MMOs are about money, are you and your buttwife maniatico following? If people didn’t care about the story, companies wouldn’t spend millions out the ass to license ips for their mmo worlds. Let me break this down to you two fairies. The more immersive an mmo is, the longer a person tends to stay with it. The longer a person stays with it, the more money they(the companies) make. Having a good story has shown in some cases to support an mmo which had shitty things going on(Shadowbane). Get it you fucking cunts?

Engrossing Story -> More Money -> Happy Company. Now you two go get a room.

I’m sure you had a “decent reply,” which would have made you look like a genius, but instead you decided to remain undercover posing as an idiot.

great strategy.

Ofcourse, we all know you don’t HAVE to pose as an idiot. I take it back, maybe the bullshit you said about Esther in that thread was because she doesn’t look like a fucking Whi-I mean Blood Elf.. If your punkass is not in beta, please have a healthy cup of shut the fuck up.

why the hell would I join the beta of a shitty game that doesn’t interest me?

It sure interests your pansy ass enough to keep trolling this thread. Or is that just you and Maniatico’s torrid love affair?

I agree with what you’re saying to an extent. Risk is not required to have fun. There is no risk in Chess other than losing. However, in MMOs I feel the idea is to create a living, breathing, world. Much like the real world, the overarching events should impact everyone to an extent. MMOs have gotten better, but they are still mostly static worlds. The only developments are pre-planned ones, not ones that are ignited by human players. The effects of the Horde and Alliance smashing together should be felt, and not just in the Arena/Battlegrounds. The only real effect that happens is that depending on the server, you might have a lopsided battle ahead of you, but that’s nothing to do with the results of the war thusfar and everything to do with the existing player base.

You don’t even get looted. This is because WoW has an absurd system for getting loot in the first place. There are more and more dungeons which have at the bottom of them better and better stuff. Or you can PvP for like 5 months straight. Great. Of course they don’t allow your Tempest of Chaos to be looted. It probably took you a month+ to get it (not including the time you took to get to 70, and then get the gear to raid Hyjal Summit, and then learn the strategies necessary for dealing with that instance). No one would play. I understand their logic, but that’s boring.

I know this analogy can be picked apart, but I really feel that upper-level WoW PvP is basically a drastically remade version of an arena FPS that’s easier to play. There’s more weapons and tricks, less hand-eye coordination, more scripted actions, but not a very difficult game to master. I got REALLY good at Counter-Strike, and that took a while, it took me all of a week and an FAQ back when it was 60 cap to figure out how to PvP very well. Seriously, I took 60’s through BGs by storm. I was almost always the top 1st or 2nd, I could rape with a Mage, Warlock, Hunter, or Shadow Priest. Try to get that level of result out of a newbie to Team Fortress. However, realistically it took a long time, because you gotta get your character to 60 first, which is really nothing more than a mindless ladder that you’re forced to climb. There’s nothing remotely hard or really exciting about 98% of the pre-60 game. And I only say the pre-60 because I didn’t get in on the expansion.

So if I want to get into PvP in a meaningful way as early as possible in WoW I would have to wait at least half a year before my character was competent enough to really stand in the arena. That’s assuming I don’t have someone else’s help. Ridiculous. DAoC allowed you after having a character at level 50 to roll one at level 20 automatically. Very cool function and some servers let you start characters as high as 40. Many (not all) classes could level very quickly, as well. Although I heard that WoW decreased the exp required to 60 by half. That’s pretty neato.

That’s not good MMO PvP to me. The spirit of PvP in WoW is basically Team Fortress dressed up to have more character/game style options w/ more necessary work to actually play. In fact, I’d say that in the way that the MMO PvP system deviates from the FPS PvP system are all inherently bad changes to truthful player vs. player interaction. You have to work (not really play, work) to get your gear good enough for you to be able to stand a chance. Having more time is almost equivalent to having better stats. You need to figure out what spec best suits you for PvP depending on class. Then you have to deal with the fact that there’s an almost constant rock-paper-scissors contest going on in many solo PvP match ups that if both players are geared to the same level, max health/mp/whatever, and of equal skill, that you will basically know who will lose. A Warlock vs. a Mage? Give me a break That Mage is going down.

To be fair, these problems don’t just exist in WoW as far as MMO PvP is concerned. These are wide-spread problems, but I really do feel that DAoC handled the PvP better than any ‘traditional’ MMO I’ve ever played.

I feel the same way about the rock paper scissors thing, and about the bore to 60.
Well, soon to be 80.

WoW is too similar to every other mmo in that respect. WoW pvp is more limited and boring however. With 8 classes the matchups are also too imbalanced. Rouge vs a priest. haha.

I thnk the pvp in WH will be somthing fresh to make the lvling interesting, and thus the gameplay better. Myself, I can only run the same dungeon so many times.

I laugh when he says that tabletop is a blatant ripoff, not even concerned with the 15 bucks he’s thrown away every month. I used to play WoW pre-BC from release and quit 6 months later. Came back for BC, got 2 70’s casually playing in a month. I realized that I was just wasting my money. NOTHING changed. Had I been playing from release, that could’ve funded a ridiculous 40K table top army instead, and that would’ve lasted me a lot longer than the $15 would in WoW.

Also agree with Iren. WoW = no skill and a time dump. What happened when I quit? I had absolutely nothing to show for it except lost time.

Also, a Warhammer army that you put work into (just like a WoW character) yields a tangible result. Someone might not play Warhammer, but most people are impressed by seeing 150 painted models all looking like they’re ready to kick some ass. My Orc & Goblin army rules.
