Warhammer online looks like a very crappy version of Wow.
from the dull character models to the static combat system, everything is either average or subpar.

^Are you in the beta? If not, please have a cup of Shut the fuck up.
All the screens/vids out now are the game running at its’ lowest possible setting, not the highest. And we have few vids of the combat system, so like I said, if not in beta, please stfu.
40k I have a crapload of them.
Warhammer Online looks extremely interesting, and a nice change of pace from the typical PvE-focused MMO.
Marauders look really cool.
Put money down on the collector’s edition yesterday and got my pre-order codes, now to wait for open beta
I may do it for that miniature. No skaven characters makes me a sad nerd.
^Hahhaah yea, the greenskins are alright, but I would’ve liked a wider selection of collector’s miniatures, one per army would’ve been nice.
Well the entire idea of a race of rats who behave like paranoid schitzophrenic meth addicts is appealing to. Also no troll slayer for the dwarves is upsetting, if they expand they better include a slayer, skaven, Brettonnia and ogres.
^Yea, though I’m really not fond of Warhammer being toned down to suit the teen/foreign ratings. Like Chaos has SERIOUSLY been toned down, and the other gods have taken more of a backseat role though they do have a part in the game. ALso a lot of Chaos aspects have been removed like the flags/tables made out of human skin. -_-. I’m still not sure of all the changes that have been made as I’ve been mostly following Destruction races, but meh, like Rock pointed out the empire are starting to resemble WoW factions =/.
I too would like to see the slayer in their but the reason hes not in is obvious. MMOs are gear based games and with a slayer, you would be your level, plus your weapon. There is no gear collection because slayers just go into battle with some axes and a suicidal mind. If they added tattoos or something for slayers specificly it would get too complicated. Can you imagine going into a dungeon with a party of green skins, killing the boss and having it drop a tattoo? It just doesn’t work.
I really hope this MMO is good though. I stopped WoW well over a year ago and I’m ready to waste some time on an MMO. In fact, if AoConan is good I’ll be getting that one first.
I don’t think so the slayer would be sans amour, as he advances just give him abilities so he can topple hordes of infantry and do massive damage to big beasties just like in the fluff. As a disadvantage he can’t turn tail and run.
Controlling a players ability to run away would be complicated to say the least. Also about the abilities… Sure they can make the character strong with abilities, but the problem is, MMOs are gear based games. If a character doesn’t use gear, what makes him different from another equal level slayer? And what will happen at end game when everyone is level XX trying to get better gear and the slayer doesn’t need/want gear.
I think its possible and would be fun to play, but its just too much work to make the class. The work that it would take to make slayers work well could be spent on making like 4 or 5 other classes much more fun and deep.
any of you awesomemans playin dat dark heresy pen and paper game, the book is really super sexy
The warhammer MMO - no ones gonna get this game except for a handful of dedicated losers, just like D&D online - warhammer is meant to be a tabletop game and thats what its good at…sort of…if the games didn’t take hours to complete and if the figures weren’t a blatant rip off people might still care about it
anyway all the cool kids are gonna be hitting up Wow and it’s new expansion which will overshadow rip offs like warhammer-online that do nothing better and everything worse.
Haha - Dark Age of Camelot is one of the more successful MMOs to date. It has easily the most popular PvP system, and they’re looking to take that and apply that across the entire game design. People will play this, it’s easily the most anticipated MMO right now.
There has only ever been one MMO.
and at this rate there will only ever be one

You know that all the “new improvements” in Wotlk are all old and copied features from other games right? And in fact WoW is doing absolutley nothing original?
WoW is like the margarine substitute of mmo’s. It just completes a basic meal that anyones grandma or little sister can stomach. The problem is, it really isnt spicy enough for an experienced pallete.
Warhammer will be that spicy kick. I’ll take a huge, persistant battlefield, with harsh consequences where your quests and individual efforts actually make a difference, over farming the same instances completley and absolutley forever with no risk or challenege whatsoever.
Friend: omgs dood, acatraz runs??!! I only need 47 more!!
Me: eh, we run that every day…
Friend: Doooood, we need the rep!!
Me: Actually, we really don’t…
Friend: 47 more runs and I get the ubercool necklace!!
Me: That will give you, maybe, +2str at most from what you have. You want to spend another 52 hrs for that?
Friend: Dood, its the UBERCOOL necklace!!
Me: ugh…
No risk = no fun. Looking forward to WH.
WoW does questing/pvp/pve better than every other mmo, and compared to most mmos its progress speed is very quick, thats why its so successful, and why everything else is irrelevant.
Warhammer doesn’t have pvp, it has rvr, so already no one is going to bother with it. Dark Age of Camelot sucked and so did its RVR, hence why 90% of their players migrated to Wow upon release.
What harsh consequnces will warhammer have besides being a waste of money and time?
Look at some videos of Warhammer online, not only is it a visual rip off of WOW (with worse art and graphics) but its combat system looks utterly retarded. Static. It looks like they used the character models of Guild Wars in a watered down version of WoW.
ok first off, no it doesnt. Pvp sucks in WoW. There is no ::read again:: RISK in WoW pvp. which makes it almost fucking pointless. PvP has absolutley no effect on gameplay other than stalling time, or jacking around in arena.
As for pve, and rvr, you cant even make that claim cause I know for damn sure you havent high level raided in every game. I havent either, I dont think anybody has, its almost impossible.
Really, I know all your claims are just based on “more people play WoW so its better” logic. I agree WH looks alot like WoW, but you know what? My roomate quit WoW to play Meridian 59. He had a lvl 70 and all that shit and raided gruul etc but he quit because he said the thrill of M59 > WoW for him.
In M59, when you die in pvp the person can loot all your gear, items, gold, etc. That is pvp. The game is like, 15 yrs old, with Doom1 graphics but he said its better just cause of that pvp thrill. Anyway, to each his own. WoW is mindless though.
Guild Wars pvp >>>>>> Wow btw. oh yeah, eq2 pve is better too.
