Jeff is not broke and that headbutt is new. It’s a good new move but punishable… just like 3/4ths of Jeffrey’s movelist. He’s the biggest high rish/high reward character in 5 and in R. That headbutt combo has to be done near the wall as well. Damn near everybody has a big wall splat juggle in R so that’s not news. That 163 combo… good luck setting it up with that axe kick.
I’m not worried about Jeffrey anymore than I am now in 5.
This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:
Now Shun on the other hand…
Shun is dope :lovin:
jeff isn’t broken, dmg is high and I complain about it but that kick is one of the slowest moves in the game. as for that headbutt combo, pretty much everyone can do similkar dmg against the wall.
Everybody but El Blaze is gay.
ESPECIALLY Taka-Arashi.
…and Reno’s uber faggy Lion.
Who I beat.
By ringout.
He ran away.
Ok, it’s a new move. Then it’s not so bad potentially, hopefully it’s at least -12 though.
That Axe kick can be set up off a knockdown, just gotta mix it up with his other heavy blows. It’s one of my favorite oki moves, along with K+G to catch evaders, all sorts of throws and 1P+K.
I still think 163 is too much when I’ve never seen another character do over 110 yet.

ZOMG!!! Blaze is borken t00!!
Still waiting for that 60% on headbutt ch video, btw
Lost the link, but it was 118pts vs a CPU Vanessa.
BTW pretty sure that combo at the end can be struggled out of, and it’s a lot harder to start- in 5 at least trying for that hit-throw was a huge risk for Blaze. Huge difference.

lawl, that video was your proof that jeff is broken now? jeff can do over half llife off of non-struggled WALL HITS in 5 too (notice that the ch headbutt didn’t crumple or launch on its own).
Oh, and

who says its not a huge risk in R?
Nice. How many drinks did he have? Couldn’t tell due to fuzzy screen.
Is there an online item list for this like there was for Ver. C?
Question does VF have character specific combos?
Some combos work on some characters and not others- can be dependent on weight and size.
For example, in regular VF5, Jeff’s knee was awesome against lightweights, but not much better then his 3PP against other heavyweights.
Yes. There are character specific and foot position (open/closed stance) specific (and both) combos. Of course there is also generic combos that work on everyone in either stance.
VF characters fall under weight class which combos for that group usually fall under.
Lightweight: Eileen, Aoi, Pai, Vanessa, Sarah
Middleweight: El Blaze, Goh, Brad, Kage, Lei-Fei, Shun, Lion
Heavy-middleweight: Lau, Jacky, Akira
Heavyweight: Wolf, Jeffry
In most cases lightweights take the most damage in combos. Heavyweights are harder to juggle and usually take less. There are several exceptions though.
Not exactly sure where Jean is but I’d put him in the HMW class.
Taka-Arashi in VF3 was in his own weight class- Super Heavyweight. I think that also applies in VF5:R.
that do less dmg, I guess that’s obvious but thought I’d add that.
Jeff’s 169:

Note that it was done vs the CPU. That move is linear, has to be done at a certain angle from the wall, and has like a thousand startup frames. That move is next to useless in real matches.
then again, yes it’s too much.
that move can be used in oki. I do it with my Jeff after establishing other moves such as 1P+K , 3K+G, and K+G.
