The Virtua Fighter 5:R thread... It's in Japanese arcades!

Jeffry deserves to destroy 50%+ of your lifebar if he gets you in situational BS after over 10 years of getting shit on. AM-2 doesn’t care about black people.

Uhm you can defend all those things with standing guard. Granted that heel kick gives stagger on block but no such combo.

Yeah, he deserves to get 60-65%. Not 84.5%.

I’m just afraid comboitis across the board is getting into VF, which is a series that has stayed immune from it up till now. Yeah, it has combos, and good combos, but they’re generally risk/reward balanced. Also, that move on block that starts that combo leaves Jeff in advantage or a free hit, depending on how fast you can struggle out. usually I get a free PK from that move if it’s blocked.

That’s what throws are for. Jeff’s lows aren’t damaging enough to be worth it in oki usually.

Care to explain Vanessa’s S-tier status in VF5? :razzy:

Oh wait, is Vanessa actually even black?!?

It’s simple, she gained in the tiers by becoming whiter.

About jeff’s 6K+G in 5r, notice the BLUE FLASH in these vs CPU wallcombo vids? Unless 6K+G somehow always gives a side counter hit, I don’t think you have much to worry about; even if it does, EVERYONE in 5r seems to have sufficient tools to make you want to stay away from the wall.

YES, rapid punches lol. I also forgot about Daisy Duke Sarah.

IN that VF4 case, those weren’t true combos, as the other guy rolled into the other hits. If he had stayed down , wouldn’t have gotten hit. In the VF3 case, a lot of those combos were lightweight-specific or Aoi-specific.

I can see 6K+G giving side CH if a person tries to evade maybe? Do failed evades give side CHs?

I don’t think they do. They do leave you pretty open though.

6+K+G does track slightly if they try to dodge too early IIRC.

You stfu you quasi-Puerto Rican jabroni

everything tracks if you evade too early, that’s a failed evade. Or if you;re mashing buttons while you;re evading. But in other cases no, it;s linear and doesn’t track.

In VF4 you could get a successful evade sound off of it and it still track you.

better take my vacated title @ NEC this year, I’m counting on you

In VF, if your evade ends before the evaded attack hits:

 1. If you press nothing, the move whiffs.

 2. If you guard or attack, it will ‘track’ you again.

Also, doing an evade attack (P+K+G in VF4 or P+K in VF5) ends your evade, and you can be counter-hit. That is why sometimes people get hit out of evade attacks; they press the input before the move they evaded actually goes into hit frames.

Jeff also has a 3 K+G that looks like the 6K+G but is quicker. That can mess people up as well.

Vf5 video from 2 years ago. Can the combo in the first round be broken?

I have very little knowledge of VF but hasn’t Jeffry always been strong?

It can be broken.

I think you can struggle the wall stagger so the the knee in your back won’t hit. But if you fail to do that you get a backcrumple and jeff gets a free low back throw. After that jeff does a ground throw and tehre is no way that’s guaranteed, the Brad player could have stood up by then. Besides ground throws are escapable.

Jeff has sick dmg but he is very unsafe. High risk, high reward. in vf5 ver.c he is considered one of the lesser characters. That doesn’t mean much in vf though. NUmber 1 US player uses jeff.

actually I think you can do evade attacks with fastest input as those moves have the evading properties built in. If you do an Offensive move you will get hit out of an evade but not always, you can time this you can get a side/or backcrumple on your opp.

That’s what I was looking for. I remember there being an exact reason for it.

There’s little to no reason for you to get mixed up between the two because of the windup frames on 6P+K. I use him exclusively and I see no reason for it to never get stepped.

He’s honestly never been great. Most games he’s been mid-tier at best, and I see that still being the same now. Once again, niggas was crying back when VF5 betas were out and people were like “OMG LOOK AT WHAT JEFFRY CAN DO ON WALL HIT OFF OF A SLOW MOVE COMING FROM A SHAKABLE STAGGER”. It may seem nice now but don’t expect 150+ to be a regular part of his game.
