The Virtua Fighter 5:R thread... It's in Japanese arcades!

FWUCK YOU OLD MAN~!

lol the fake reno got owned lol

Yes. Yes YOU did. :arazz:

love the Taka vids, he looks fun as heck. HCF P+G is as classic as ever

RAWR VF5R HYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYPE~!

Need this game. NAO. HURRY UP, SEGA. I WANT THAT KARETEKA! ON MY CONSOLE! FOR PLAYING! NAAAAAAAAAAAAO~!

Also; want sexy schoolgirl outfit for Aoi. Not playboy sexy… just… ‘I go to a university and I like my skirt a little higher, thanks’. That would be yummy. I’m getting sick of FOUR DIFFERENT HAKAMA. I DON’T CARE HOW SHINY THEY ARE.

-cough.-

But yeah.

Sega, hurry it up. Or give me something else to play with for a while. Virtua Tennis is getting boring.

Can’t wait to see what new moves Aoi and Sarah have when I can sit down and play myself. Why is Shun overpowered?

this is the fighter to end all fighters!!!

The new combo trees I’ve been seeing for Eileen and Pai are freakin’ beast. I want to play this revision very much.

The only thing that disappointed me about this new version is when I saw the move list
for my primary character, Kage—and how they took away his P+K (guard break) move. I
used that all the time dangit. Argh. I really hope this comes stateside like
VF4:Evo did…with a shitload of extra content in it too DANGIT

~K.

Virtua Tennis is awesome. Whatchu know about Rafael Nadal? You don’t know NOTHIN’ about Rafael Nadal.

In more VF5R-related news. I wonder if they’ll ever patch up the online play so that it plays silky-smooth. Why can’t console fighters get that shit right?

Here’s hoping that if they do release R for consoles here in the states, they add online for PS3. I like the arcade sticks for the PS3 better.

I hope we got VF5 R here in the Philippines

Wow, this is looking excellent. There is zero chance of me playing this at an actual arcade, so I gots to look forward to a 360 release.

Jeff has a 163pt wall combo. I also know he has an 118pt non-wall combo, started off an attack that isn’t ultra slow. Pretty sure both would work on everyone as well. (the non-wall might not work on Heavies)

He’s broke as of now.

He’s not broken.

Given how reasonably quickly that move starts, and the fact that he can get over half damage from it, and it’s only a nitaku if it’s gyarded- I think it’s a bit too much right now.

Jeff’s big combo starter in VF5 was the knee, which was a tiny bit quicker (1 frame quicker), led to 48% on middleweights (topped 50% on lightweights with CH/expert timing), and was -15, so you ate elbow-class punishment, or a chance for major punishment.

That headbutt now does significantly more damage, is safer with no guaranteed punishment (though you can’t fuzzy), and leads to more damage.

What “move” are you talking about? 4p+k, the new torpedo headbutt? First of all, how do you know that its exactly 18 frames exe? Second of all, that move doesn’t give a guaranteed combo on normal hit like knee does. To do major damage with it it looks like he needs either a counter hit from the side, or (probably strugglable) wall stagger. Third, they toned down knee damage in 5r.

In 5, Jeff can do nearly 40% off of 66p stagger near a wall, and that move is 16f, fuzzyable on block and has a safe followup attack. Is it “broken” too?

40% isn’t broke in VF. 80% is. On regular CH Jeff gets almost 60%, which is pushing it.

That headbutt is new? Pretty sure it’s the same headbutt he had in VF5 which no one used except vs Aois. If it’s a new move entirely then it’s a bit too early to tell, though the damage on this and other vids looks a little too grizzly for the type of move it is.

Some of this is paranoia on my part. I felt for all the long-time Vanessa players in VF5 who had to deal with their character being called scrubby. I don’t want to deal with that myself.

Again, where are you getting your facts?

if you’re talking about the move he keeps trying to land against the cpu in that video, it is new. 4p+k is the new torpedo headbutt, the old 46p+k is still in (you can even see him use it once in a combo).

Notice how he keeps trying to OM in order to get a side hit? Notice how the headbutt does jack squat on normal hit, even from the side? The only time he gets 90pts of damage (not 60%) is from a side counter + crumple.

Where are you seeing him get 60% off of that move without a wall?
